We enjoyed our experience when we went in for some avocado toast & juice . It was recommended to us by a "local man" who toured us around that day . The barista was very friendly and the food was very good . We made plans to return the next day for another meal to end our vacation off . The barista at the front counter said they would be open at 9AM for breakfast and there was no sign/notice of being closed . Clearly she did not know what she was talking about considering we waited outside for 30 minutes for them to open . She should have let us know they would be closed and not feed us incorrect information . Wasted almost an hour of our time & watched several groups walk by and look around confused . We got coffee and continued to look around and wait , then left when someone explained to us they close sporadically & recommended us to eat at the toyon grille instead . read more

The drinks had quirky names inspired by well-known Catalina items, but the staff seemed annoyed when I mispronounced them, which made us feel uncomfortable. The ambiance was beautiful and cozy, except for the plates left on the tables. They didn't say goodbye to us when we left, even though we did. It felt like we were providing better customer service as customers than they were as cashiers, which was odd.
