Very affordable coffee shop inside the Hardin Student Center. They make really good coffee! Can't beat it for the price!

The service was amazing from the start. Now let's talk about the food. I wasn't even planning to order anything, but it smelled too good to ignore. I went with something simple--a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit--but there was nothing simple about it. It came out hot and fresh, and the biscuit practically melted in my mouth. I was honestly surprised by how fresh everything tasted. The shop itself is really cute, with funky music playing in the background and a welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. I'm already determined to become a regular here--I want them to know me by name! I can't wait to come back and try more of their treats.

I ordered the macchiato, but they said that's a small drink, they changed it to a latte for me, I also ordered the breakfast sandwich with egg sausage and cheese. To add sausage, avocado, or bacon add $2. They also have pastries, sandwiches specials and bagels for fans they offer LIX and a bagel as well. A good selection for a nice little breakfast snack to start your day. Fast and friendly service. It felt so I prefer that to chain coffee spots. There were some good audience somewhere on the walls and good people watching. I wish they much success.

There's a lot of hype around cafe du monde for good reason...I actually came to this location twice…read moreduring my 4 day trip in New Orleans because the beignets here are THAT good. While you're here, I'd say that the cafe au lait is also worth trying. I noticed that the lines tend to be longer in the morning but there was little to no wait at night time. Service is mixed--some workers are really friendly while others seem rushed and are a bit harsher. It is a casual spot and you can pretty much grab any open table to be seated. One thing to note is that it is cash only. Overall, I'd highly recommend this location of cafe du monde!

Anyone who says that Café du Monde is overhyped has not been here! This place was phenomenal!…read more For reference, my only experience with beignets before this was at Disneyland, and everyone told me I had to try Café du Monde. I was a little confused when I first walked up, as there isn't a place to order. You simply sit at an empty table and a server comes to take your order. The beignets were warm, crispy, and covered in powdered sugar. It's hard to explain what they even tasted like because they were just that incredible. I ended up getting them again the next day--I genuinely want to make another trip out here just to have them again. Be aware that it's in a heavily tourist-filled area, but besides that, I loved this spot and will definitely be back the next time I'm in New Orleans!

There's no indoor seating because it's a tiny cute little shop, but they do have tables and chairs outside if you want to hang out. They have all kinds of fruit, milk, and boba teas. I got to try the strawberry fruit tea ($6), and I added some lychee popping pearls to it (For only $0.75 extra, it's SO worth it). It was not overly sweet, delicious, and perfectly refreshing! Just what I needed since it was hot out! I'll have to try their milk teas sometime I got to try their grilled cheese ($6). It was made with colby jack cheese on a bun. (At least, I think, I'm no cheese expert) The bun was good, but the cheese wasn't my favorite. In my opinion, this would be so much better if they used a sharper cheese, but to each their own. I did add imitation crab (+$1) to the grilled cheese, which helped boost the flavor a bit, but I really thought they could have use sauce or seasonings. You may enjoy their grilled cheese though if you're a purist! I also tried their sushi dog ($6). The hot dog was good quality, all beef. This had plenty of sauces and flavor, and much more up-my-alley! It is only half a sausage though, you don't get a whole dog, which was my only complaint. One thing to note: It's completely cashless, so you should definitely bring small bills for tips because you can't break a $20 there! Overall, I would try their other menu items, but I'd skip the grilled cheese. Their drinks seem to be yummy too!

St Noir Cafe -- 5…read more This one hits home for me in a real way. It's just two blocks from the first place I ever called home as a little girl. I used to walk past this area all the time, so to now see this beautiful space operating in love, intention, and most importantly community... my heart really smiles. The space is warm and welcoming. You've got creatives, people working, people connecting--it's cozy but still feels open. It gives community, not just coffee shop. The barista was so kind and helped me and my sister-in-law through the menu, but we're matcha girls through and through, so we went with our old faithful. And baby... it did not disappoint. Smooth, not grainy at all, just done right. I love what this place represents for the community. And being Black-owned makes it even more special. This one means something.

I decided to stop by St. Noir while visiting New Orleans after seeing some of their drinks online…read more The Wedding Cake Latte and Cookie Butter Chai both caught my attention, so I figured I'd give the place a try. The cafe itself is cute. It has a cozy coffee shop vibe and seems like the kind of place where you could grab a drink, sit down, and relax for a while. When I visited on a Saturday evening, it was pretty quiet. There was one girl working on a laptop, a group of friends who looked like they were catching up, and a couple waiting on drinks they had already ordered. Other than that, it was basically empty. It also appeared that there was only one employee working, so it was a good thing there wasn't a long line or anything. Customer service is a huge part of my experience when I visit a business. A place can have amazing drinks and a great atmosphere, but if the customer service is poor, it affects the entire experience for me. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted or acknowledged at all. Not a "welcome in," not a "hey, I'll be with you in a minute," nothing. I stood at the register looking over the menu while the employee finished making drinks for the couple who was waiting. Once she came over, I smiled and said, "Hey, how are you?" but didn't receive that same energy in return. There was no smile, no friendly greeting, and the interaction immediately felt very dry. Since it was my first visit, I asked what she would recommend for someone who likes sweeter drinks. She responded, "Everything here is sweet," but even that was said in a tone that felt annoyed and dismissive and didn't really help me narrow anything down. I was trying to decide between the Wedding Cake Latte and the Cookie Butter Chai. I then asked whether the Wedding Cake Latte actually tasted like cake. The reason I asked is because I've had plenty of experiences at coffee shops where a drink sounds amazing on the menu, but when you actually get it, it mostly tastes like coffee with only a tiny hint of the advertised flavor. A lot of times I end up having to add extra syrup because the flavor is so subtle. When I asked if it really tasted like cake, she responded, "Uh, yeah." In a tone that came across like a "duh" response. From the lack of greeting to the tone of responses, to the overall energy of the interaction, it all felt cold, dismissive, and like I was bothering her just by being there. I'm not from there and it was my first visit, so I was simply trying to make a decision, but I left feeling very unwelcome. I honestly considered leaving and saying don't worry about it because the interaction was that off-putting, especially since it wasn't busy at all. I decided to order anyways because I had already been anticipating trying it on this trip and had already drove all the way there. I ended up order the Cookie Butter Chai and it was really good. The flavor came through well. I just wish it was a bigger size. One small thing I noticed was that the drink came with whipped cream, but I wasn't asked whether I wanted it. It wasn't a huge issue because I don't dislike whipped cream, but I typically decline it when given the option. Since I didn't know it came with it and wasn't asked, I didn't really get the opportunity to choose. Overall, the atmosphere is cute, and the drink itself was good. However, I was genuinely surprised by the customer service because I had seen reviews describing the staff as friendly and welcoming, and my experience was the complete opposite. The drink was good, but the service left a negative impression.
