Grilled cheese and grits in the back.

Came in for coffee and saw the specials and food menu, ended up ordering two drinks and two bites to eat. The espresso was fresh and delicious, the raspberry grilled. Jesse with extra bacon very flavorful! Inside was large and air conditioned with lots of seating options from table and chairs to couches. Service was quick and friendly! Would definitely recommend.

This stop is in a super convenient location and has a ton of space for work, studying or hanging. Prices for coffee are also pretty good which is a win. Had the miel latte and the coffee was good, just definitely very sweet. The cranberry scone was DELICIOUS.

I was so excited to stumble upon this gem of a coffee shop! The Vietnamese coffee is smooth and flavorful and the warmed sweet potato pie is superb with a great crust-to-filling ratio.

Not uptown. Not downtown. Backatown! This coffee parlour is EVERYTHING. I regret not coming hungry because their food looked and smelled amazing. That being said, I got their iced miel latte and it was delicious. They have a rewards program for their regulars, and I intend to become one. The staff are friendly and craft the coffees with care to ensure perfection. The space magnificent. They have a lot of options from big comfy couches, to intimate tables, and a lovely large table where patrons appeared to be working on their laptops. They have a take one leave one bookshelf and a lot of beautiful artwork. Can't wait to come back and try the food soon!!

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in the city. It's a convenient location, and the staff is friendly no matter what's going on. I usually get an iced or hot mocha latte and the coffee is always smooth. Even when it's delivered, the temps are perfect. I can't skip the snacks here! The crawfish melt is my go-to, along with the cranberry cream cheese scone. I've enjoyed the sweet potato scone, too, and the muffins. The turkey and egg sandwich is a regular brunch choice. I tried the raspberry grilled cheese but it was too much of the sweet raspy jam for me. Sometimes they run out of items, but they're always great with substituting. If it's a quiet day downtown, I'll sit and read it people watch. The distressed couch is a lot more comfy than it looks.

We came in here to grab a cup of coffee while waiting for a tour. My wanted to try something different, I forget what the gentleman got her but my wife said it was the best coffee ever. I had a coffee and it was very good as well but the thing that got me was the little sweet potato pie. Now I know they say sweet potato pie is better in the south but now I know they ain't lying, I tell you that pie was delicious! They have lots of cool art to look at as well. Great spot I would definitely recommend

Last stop before heading off to the airport, I had to get some work done before I take off so I found a low key coffee shop to sit at and partake in some pastries while I drained their wifi. Great location, close to the hustle and bustle of the city. Plenty of space inside with the option of outdoor seating as well. The decor inside is very reminiscent of the entire city, very jazz influenced. Has paintings and murals inside, very easy on the eyes. Service was on point, the cashier was pleasant and made my cappuccino well. I placed my food order and received it shortly after. Seems like there were only two people working and they had a brunch party inside but they were extremely accommodating. I had the crawfish quiche with my cappuccino, it was very good. I love seafood and never had crawfish in my quiche so it was a delight to try and taste great. When I come back to the city I want to try their crawfish melt!

One word: PERFECTO It is the CUTEST, most welcoming coffee shop I have been to in a long time. It displays local art and embodies the NOLA culture. This was my first time coming to this coffee shop while visiting. It was my husband, mom, aunts and me. We ordered 3 small king cake lattes, a vanilla cortado and crawfish quiche. Each drink and the quiche was made with love. I wish I could remember the man's name that helped us. He was patient with us and really helped us find the best drink for our palettes. There is a "lounge area" with couches that allows for you to get comfy while you enjoy your drinks and food. On the table in the lounging area, there are chit chat cards that encourage some fun dialogue. There is a station that offers patrons to grab free books and to leave books. The music is very soothing and allows for studying, reading and conversation. Another spot for our "must go" NOLA list.

This place is a hidden gem in that isn't so hidden anymore. I got the Raspberry Grilled cheese and let me tell. It was definitely different, but it was good. I created a Carmel drink of some sort, but it was delicious.... My hubby had the Vietnamese Coffee and it was great too. The service was pretty fast and the ambiance is vibe. This is the perfect spot to conduct business or if you need a coffee shop to do some work. Check them out.

Huge cafe with a friendly staff. Great coffee and make sure you try the crawfish quiche! Love supporting Black owned businesses!

Nice and spacious cafe spot close to the French Quarter with Free-Wi Fi. The space itself was decorated like a cool loft with local art on the walls. Offerings include various coffee and teas, pastries, quiche, soups, sandwiches, etc.. Of note, the crawfish quiche, although small fist sized portion, was really good. Could imagine eating a few pie sized slices if it was served that way. Make sure to top the quiche off with the green hot sauce ! There were a few other items that also sounded good; sweet potato scone, raspberry grilled cheese and the shrimp and corn bisque. Will be in town for a few days and may have to slide back through

Things I love about Backatown: It's Black owned The service The high ceilings, square tables, and cozy chairs The sweet potato pie The hot tea options The sandwich menu The lotion in the bathroom and the fact that there are two restrooms!

She provided great service and awesome recommendations from drinks, apps and eats! Her personality was very pleasant and sweet. She was attentive but not overwhelming at all. Both Aurry and Joel contributed to the overall experience making it great. The FOOD was a HIT. Everything ordered was presented beautifully and delicious!!! The executive chef is definitely cooking very very well!!! We loved the Blue Crab Ragoon App as well as the Crab Cakes. There was nothing left on the plates. For entrées we had Banana Foster Pain Perdu, Side of Duck Bacon, Hashbrown, 100% Seafood Gumbo and Fried Catfish. Everything was seasoned to perfection and hot!!! Last but definitely not least are the Cocktails which were very good. Try the Cold Brew Martini if you like iced coffee type drinks and also try the Strawberry Lemon drop for a sweet treat. Both taste great and have a nice amount of spirits in them. This is a must try in NOLA. Will definitely return!!

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Meanwhile, multiple tables became available that easily could have accommodated us, but the hostess was determined to keep telling us we had to wait. To make matters worse, there was open bench seating in the back where customers ordering to-go could sit. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other." No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. Absolutely horrible customer service experience.
