The barista was so kind and helped me and my sister-in-law through the menu, but we're matcha girls through and through, so we went with our old faithful. And baby... it did not disappoint. Saint Noir Café is definitely worth the visit, even though it's a little further out from the main areas in New Orleans. The entire vibe of this place is what makes it stand out. Inside is super cute, casual, and chill -- with workspaces, couches, art, merchandise, and plenty of spots to just relax or hang out for a while. You can tell why it's gone viral. The coffee was really good. My husband and I shared a simple vanilla latte since we weren't sure what to order for our first visit, and it was solid. They also have mimosas and other alcoholic drinks, which adds to the fun atmosphere. The staff wasn't the friendliest during our visit, but honestly the overall experience and ambiance still made it enjoyable. I ended up getting one of their shirts too -- I think it was around $35 -- and the merch was actually really cute. Let's get this small gripe out of the way. I'm not a fan of when restaurants overload drinks with ice--it always feels like you're getting less for what you paid. I've learned I need to start asking for light ice or no ice upfront. That said, the Ms. Rose drink itself was a 10/10. I tried it during a Yelp Elite event and was genuinely impressed--especially since I'm not usually a coffee drinker like that. It's the right amount of sweetness, smooth and toasty. The last morning (a Saturday) there was a children's book author there selling her books and signing. I noticed 'regulars' here too who were friendly, made it feel like a true neighborhood spot. St Noir has been at the top of my list to try lately and I was able to attend a recent Silent Book Club here. It's the perfect spot to bring a book (great lighting, plus they have stands at several of the tables). So sparkling and beautiful inside, but I can see myself sitting at one of the sidewalk tables on a nice day as well. My drink of choice that evening was their irresistible beautiful blue magic matcha, which comes iced. It's sweet (not overly so) and creamy and delicious, especially when you get it with oat milk. I'm seeing from reviews that they have a strawberry matcha drink so I'll be back soon for that. Props for a vegan baked good option (banana bread). They have wine, mimosas and espresso martinis too, so as day turns into evening, they got you. Note that it closes on the early side, 8pm most nights, 4pm on Sundays. It makes me wonder, though, will it live up to its name in the future? Regardless, I'm a big fan of St Noir and appreciate its presence in my neighborhood. read more

What's not to love? Such a cozy, at-home feeling coffee shop. The vibes hit you before you even walk in the door but once you step inside it really gives! I was so torn on what to try because I've heard good things about their matcha and the menu looks delicious. But given my previous experiences with matcha, i opted out. I stopped in for Silent Book Club last month and loved the space! It's so different from when this location was a gallery. It is inviting and cozy. I love that they have caffeine and wine. This is a community cafe that you can come listen to music to free your mind or study for a big test coming up. They offer some unique lattes, teas, and a few treats to eat. Beautiful ambiance! I'm so sad this place opened after I graduated. I could definitely see this as being one of my go to spots because the hours are great. They do not close until 8pm. The vibe and decor are gorgeous. The seating is great and generous. The tables on the back wall all have computer stands on them to place your laptop or device and adjust height, which I thought was super cool. This is a black owned coffee shop that I've seen over and over again via social media. Amped to visit with my child and a friend of mine. Never could get there, but decided to go out of my way after my chemical peel to go and support. I will say that today was my first and will be my last ever going there. The experience and lack of customer service was horrible. I was not greeted and I could hardly hear what the person at the register was saying to me. If they were ready or not, not welcoming, no smile; just very nonchalant. I didn't get the opportunity to try the food bc the response when I inquired about it, a croissant, specifically. It seemed as if I was a bother and I needed to hurry up and order. There was no line, no one before or after me waiting to be serviced. I am very displeased and disappointed.
