Super cute and tranquil cafe. They have excellent coffee (French Truck I believe). Servers are very friendly and helpful. I've seen it crowded on the weekend (it's small on the inside), but never had a wait during the week. Outside tables and dog water bowl available. Parking lot, don't have to street park.

I popped in here this week, as I was jonesing for a cappuccino. It was my first visit, and I had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. They're located on Spanish Fort, very near St. Pius Church and School. There was plenty of available parking and the signage on the front was cute and inviting. As you walk in you immediately notice that it's bright, and the colorful artwork is cheery. The counter was manned by one lady, who was doing her best to fill orders. I was third in line and it took a few minutes. I must say that she was quick and efficient, just really busy. The guy in front of me ordered a peppermint, iced, green tea and cheese grits. The tea really peaked my interest, and although I didn't order it at the time, I'm definitely going to give it a try soon. I had my cappuccino and it was delicious! Perfect everything! There was a B & I group meeting while I was there, and it seems that this is a good spot for meetings. I also overheard a job interview going on at one of the tables. I saw that they serve coffees, teas, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, bagels, grits, paninis, and lots of other things. I'll be back and give some other items a try. Especially that peppermint, iced, green tea.

Who wouldn't follow this invitation? ;-)

Because it was such lovely weather we walked through the park and found ourselves at Bird's nest cafe. First off, kudos to the staff. The lady who took our order was very helpful. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and she advised us that it might be a little too plain! She was right and I am grateful that she took the minute to warn us to temper our expectations! We also ordered the recommended lunch sandwich of the day, a tomato, pesto, mozzarella sandwich! Oh Yummm~! Both came with a bag of chips. You could choose which chip you wanted. Awesome! And they had Oatmilk latte, and whole milk for my partner. So we ordered one of each! On the whole, great location, great food, great service and a great cafe, despite us being the only ones there! These are truly hard times, y'all~!

Birds Nest has it all! French truck coffee & Tea, Gracious Bakery pastries, Simon paintings on the walls and a play area for the kiddies. There is also a bunch of tables, inside and out, for getting work or studying done. I tried their breakfast burrito and it was delicious! It was like a panini wrap of goodness. The staff is super friendly too! The wifi password is on the bottom of your receipt. Warm and welcoming space!

What a gem!!! They serve French truck coffee. Gracious croissants and baked goods. A warm breakfast and paninis. They even have an adorable kids room. Wi fi. Quiet. We rode our bikes here from Lakeview. Took the back path. Will be coming here every weekend!!

    Ha...Love this sign!

So happy to find this cafe during my return home for the holidays. I love this place because it reminds me of cafes in Brooklyn (my home for the last 12 years). They offer delicious French truck coffee, yummy pastries with vegan options, delicious food items, and the best part a playroom for the kiddos. My son had so much fun in their playroom, I was able to eat and drink my coffee in peace while he played. I tried their cheese grits with bacon and breakfast burrito.... both were SO GOOD! The Birds Nest also offers panini sandwiches, salads, and soups and hope to try them next time I am in town. I will definitely be back!

With the recent rain, the usual…read morepotent French Quarter street smells were washed away, leaving the air beautifully fresh and the temperatures perfectly cool. Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! We will be back.

The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

Ambiance is amazing but also not so much lol. We had a shirtless and homeless drug addict next to us for about 3 minutes and no one seemed concerned enough to ask him to leave. He had been talking to his imaginary friend. Just wanting to enjoy breakfast, I did have a fun topic to explain to my kids. The bennys were delicious like I said. Hot and ready to eat. It was worth the walk! YOU NEED CASH!!!! They have an ATM there but it's still an inconvenience. I'm going to leave a 4 star for 2 reasons. 1. It's 2026....take cards lol. I like the old school vibes, but it's a pain and cost me more money to get cash. 2. At least ask the homeless dude to leave....I'm trying to eat and he's 6 feet from my family and tweaking out. It's your property, you CAN ask them to leave. It's a lack of interest by the business. Other than that, I had a fantastic time. 100% recommend.

Cafe Beignet are larger lighter texture beignets that melt in your mouth. Don't wear dark colored clothing as beignets are drenched in powdered sugar and half of it ends up on shirt LOL !!! Note to self for the beignet crawl will wear a white t-shirt. Cafe is a cute cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Ordering is counter ordering with warm hot beignets brought to table.
