This place is spectacular! The service is wonderful and the food is incredibly authentic- We've been to both Germany and Austria several times and the food here was spot on! Cafe Old Vienna is an excellent Austria/German restaurant (also offers several Hungarian dishes). We went here for the lunch special served between 1130-1530. The Veal-Jager Schnitzel was amazing, the breading was crisp, not greasy. The mushroom/jager gravy was creamy. It came with spatzel and red cabbage. I would recommend this dish! We also had the Bratwurst & Sauerkraut, came with home-made fries. The bratwurst was delicious and pairs perfectly w/beer! I'm normally not a fan of sauerkraut, but it was delicious w/a little kick (from the caraway seeds). Get 2 bratwurst since it's only $2 more. The home-made fries were okay, I liked that they were not greasy or salted. Wish they had more German/Austrian beer choices, but great beers that you can't easily find in the area. I was not really impressed with the beer garden/outside seating since scenery is of buildings/road/parking lot, but they have a large awning for shade and umbrellas at tables directly in sun. It's a good area for large groups. I would definitely recommend Cafe Old Vienna, to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach. read more

What a pleasant surprise! Stopped in for lunch and a beer and we were not disappointed. Visiting Myrtle beach for the weekend to see my sister so we were looking for a nice lunch spot. They have quite a diverse menu for lunch specials. After discussion with our friendly waiter my sister decided on cabbage rolls and I opted for grilled pork shanks. Our waiters suggestions were spot on. Both meals were very flavorful and the size were ample. If we weren't in a hotel we would have taken our left overs for a full second meal each! I had a beer also. An Austrian beer, Hirter Dark. The waiter explained it was like a Guinness just not as smooth. It was a very light tasting dark beer and matched perfectly with my lunch choice of pork shanks. I wish we had had room for the strudel. It looked amazing. The atmosphere is immediately warm and welcoming as you enter, authentic decor is pleasing to the eye and the staff are friendly and outgoing. We were immediately seated By the hostess and our orders were taken by a polite soft spoken young lady. Within moments we were served ice cold beverages and warm toasty bread. The 2 large, very generously portioned veal schnitzel is beyond scrumptious, perfectly cooked, crisp and fork tender without so much as a smidgeon of grease. Expertly seasoned potato salad and red cabbage adorned the schnitzel & I ate until I thought I'd burst with happiness. I can't recall the name of the dish my other half enjoyed, but I can vouch for it's tastiness as I couldn't resist trying his as well. As if the meal itself weren't enough, we shared an absolutely divine slice of warm apple strudel adorned with fresh whipped cream, fruit slices, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream kissed with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Excellent food! Walking in it's similar to a diner. The pastry display at front with what looks like delicious pastry, I wished I had the room to try! I ordered the stuffed cabbage which was very good !!! The sauce was extremely tasty and the vegetables on the side were cooked perfectly but the best part of this meal was the dumplings. Out of the 4 I ate 2 and took the other 2 (good sized) back to the hotel so I can have the wonderful experience of tasting them again! These had to be the BEST dumplings I have ever had! My husband had a beef Jager dish that was also delicious as I had to taste it all. His red cabbage was perfect even the fresh bread put on the table was wonderful!! It definitely tastes like someone of German descent with good old family recipes just cooked for you from there kitchen. It was delightful! A very beautiful young Romanian woman came to the tables and took pictures and gave away 1 postcard type photo for free and if you want to you can by the other 3 for $10. We did as since phones with cameras came out the only photo album I have is the ICloud and I was grateful to have some actual photos not just a bunch that was going from iCloud to Facebook!!!! All in all this establishment we found very clean, great food and extremely friendly service. Don't forget to try the beers too!!! We were here the last time we were in Myrtle Beach and just had to go back. The food is excellent. I had the Yaegar Schnitzel which was very good. My wife had the Wiener Schnitzel which was excellent as well. The service was excellent. Taylor the hostess was very friendly and although we didn't have reservations (recommended) we were sat at our table in just a few minutes. I forgot my glasses and she came running after us in the parking lot to give them back to me. Our server, Maddie was very good. She was friendly and a very nice girl. Everything was fresh and well prepared. I'm gluten free and they have a gluten free menu. It was a little chaotic in there at about 5:15pm, a more organized entrance/host stand would be encouraged. I highly recommend reservations for parties of 4 or more. I love this place. I've eaten here a handful of times, but I've gotten the same thing each time... The Weiner Jaeger Schnitzel. It's so perfect, I can't even imagine going there and not getting it. Fried veal, and crispy noodles with a delicious gravy on top! Goes great with frosty Spaten beer! The rest of the meal looks like nothing I'd usually eat, but it all goes so deliciously together, that I forget that I'm supposed to be finicky with this type of thing! It's not the cheapest place in the Myrtle area, but if I lived closer to this restaurant, I'd certainly get my fix more often! read more

This was by far the best restaurant we have been to during our first vacation to Myrtle Beach!!! The food was amazing! My kids (7 and 6) shared a chicken shnitzle dish from the adult menu and they ate almost every bite! (They wanted to save a little room for the desert!) The stuffed cabbage with spetzle was delicious! My husband and father in law got the grilled pork belly with cabbage and potato dumplings and they were in heaven. My mother in law got the veal schnitzel with mushroom gravy and she loved it! The desserts were to die for! Our whole party highly recommends this delightful establishment!
