We dined at Cafe Panache last night and loved it. The setting is warm and inviting. The service was, in a word, impeccable. The food was amazing. I had the Filet Mignon and my date had the Sea Bass. Both entrees were just awesome. We started with Burrata (which we order everywhere we go) and this Burrata was one of our favorites as well! All in all it was a wonderful dining experience. It was our first time visiting Cafe Panache but definitely not our last. I would add this to my list of "local gems" and highly recommend it. Being a BYOB restaurant is the icing on the cake! This evening was my first time at Cafe Panache, and it won't be my last. The ambiance is perfect for an intimate date night. My date and I started with the filet mignon ravioli (it's an entree that we split as an appetizer). The ravioli was alright- some pieces of meat melted in your mouth like butter while others were a bit more chewy then should be expected for filet mignon. However, for our main course I had the scallops and he the filet mignon and let me tell you, we quickly forgot about the appetizer. After dinner we capped off the evening with an espresso as we shared a desert; some type of vanilla moose with strawberry purée underneath. I'm looking forward to going back but I will skip the ravioli next time. read more

I order the Sirloin steak and my husband had the filet mignon, both have the same pepper brown sauces on not high quality meat. I would have liked some pepper but she said she wasn in charge of pepper.if you want to charge these kind of prices I would expect the kind of service they had before the chanow in ownership. Let me begin by saying we have been going to Panache for 25 years. Last year we booked a reservation for 4 ppl for Christmas eve, 12/24/21. They have this insane policy of accepting cash only for this res, at $125 per person so my dad went in and gave them $500 cash to reserve the table. Two days before that day, 12/22, I got covid. We called right away on 12/22 and they said they would give us back the cash if they could get rid of that table. We knew they would have NO trouble getting rid of the table, since it's popular place. My dad called back the next day and they said they would give him two, $250 gifts cards but would not refund the money. I called on 12/24 around 4 pm just "to see" if they had any free tables, and of course they didn't. So, they did in fact get rid of our table, said they didn't and would not refund our cash. Ok, they lied, people lie, I get it. Bad business, no empathy, covid was everywhere, they should have been decent, they were not.......people are crummy.......we moved on. We use one of the $250 gift cards later in 2021 and we still have one left. My dad went in this weekend to try and make another res for 12/24 this year (we are gluttons for punishment). The rate is now $150 per person, which we were still willing to pay, but hold on to you hat for this one.....they WOULD NOT let us use the $250 gift card as part of the money needed to make a new res for 4 ppl. They only take cash for a res on 12/24. Well, WE GAVE YOU CASH last year and got screwed bc you are deceitful money hungry people. Needless to say, we will use this last $250 gift card we have begrudgingly, but then we will NEVER dine there again and encourage others to do that same. Cafe Panache is an excellent farm to table restaurant owned by award winning chef Kevin Kohler. The menu changes seasonally, but one dish that's a staple is the filet mignon raviolis. They are a must try! You can order a half portion as an appetizer or double up as an entree. I had the filet mignon ravioli and the corn filled agnolotti as appetizers both were exceptional! For entrees I had the filet mignon, the crispy panko crusted halibut, and the lobster over black spaghetti. All the entrees were excellent! For desserts I had the coconut cake, peach bread pudding, and the chocolate flourless cake. I found the desserts to be ok/good. I usually love coconut cake, but this was topped with a whipped cream icing. Coconut cake tastes best with a coconut buttercream icing. The chocolate flourless cake was ok, but I felt it could of been better. The peach bread pudding was very good, but I wouldn't of called it a bread pudding. It didn't have a bread pudding consistency. The food is excellent just wish the portions were a bit bigger. Some dishes are on the smaller side, and don't come with any carb side. What a wonderful evening we had here recently! The ambience is hushed and elegant which was perfect for our first night out just the two of us, in a long time. I enjoyed dressing up a bit and felt comfortable with this crowd - and there were no empty tables! The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully plated. The food and staff were really great, ambiance/space a little underwhelming, but overall we had a nice rehearsal party for my friends. THey don't really have a private room for hosting events, more just a side of the restaurant they partition off with a curtain, but while it works for a party, it doesn't cut down the noise. And I'm not talking about the noise in the dining room but every time I would walk out of the party area and to the bathroom, all you could hear was party. I felt bad for the other diners. Panache's shtick is that they grow everything in their gardens so the food is wonderfully fresh. I ordered the prosciutto and cheese salad and ordered a chicken dish for my main entree. The party area is quite small so our party couldn't mingle as much as we would have liked to, but the staff were happy to help get us something if we couldn't reach it. I had the flourless chocolate cake for dessert which was delicious, but I never did get the coffee. The staff was super, super accommodating, especially to a friend who has a bunch of severe food allergies. Poor thing always feels so bad when she has to ask a million questions, but the staff didn't hold it against her. Here is what 450 dollars gets four people at this restaurant. First a hostess who doesn't make eye contact nor smiles. Then after sitting a cold roll. Time ticks away as we wait for waiter..... Waiter arrives.... Tells us they are out of something- kinda weird to be out at 7:30 on a Saturday but... No mention of specials. Dinner order is taken and wine isn't opened.... Wine is opened and poured then waiter disappears and we just pour our next glass- this was a celebration ! Later the wine for dinner is also not opened. The celebration was noted in my conversation with the person who took my reservation.We received our three appetizers - octopus, ravioli - the octopus was so so Varka's is so better ! The ravioli was liked by others at the table but having had it before I noticed it wasn't as rich. Dinner arrives- two filets, one duck and one Salmon. Filets were cooked perfectly, duck looked dry but was enjoyed and the tiny serving of salmon looked well prepared. For dessert we had choc cake, tiramisu , and the birthday boy got choc mousse with a candle stuck in it- really thought that they could have done something a little nicer then mousse with a candle - but oh well. I was extremely disappointed in a restaurant that I really liked. I went to Cafe Panache for dinner last night, Saturday, and it was a horrible experience. I could not get a reservation until 7:45. Was not seated until 8:30. Our waiter was horrible. He did not approach our table until I asked where our waiter was? My dinner, I am sorry to say was not good. I ordered the fish special and it was dry. It just went downhill from there. Unless I asked for someone, no one even looked at us. I felt that certain people were seated before us because of who they were or who they knew??? We were a party of 3 and were there for 20 mins. waiting and two other parties of 3 walked in and were greeted warmly and seated! So my advice don't go there on a Saturday night unless you know someone or are really special Very disappointed in a restaurant that I previously gave rave reviews. A new owner I believe. read more

If there were 2 1/2 stars, that would have been my selection. First the good news. Filet Mignon was delicious and perfectly cooked. Great flavor and a nice sized serving. The bordelaise sauce was fantastic. We opted without the mushrooms. Note: Steak is very heavily season with pepper, ask for an adjustment if you don't like a lot of pepper. The wild boar bolognese was fabulously tender in a lovely sauce. This dish is not gamey at all. Boar has a brisket-like texture. The gnocchi were pillowy light. Whipped ricotta was delicate and the perfect finishing for this dish. A rich dish. Second the OK news. Salad with goat cheese and beets was standard fare. One breaded goat cheese patty, usual mixed greens and not enough beets or grapes for our taste. You can easily make this at home (I do). Now the bad news. We love short ribs but NOT these. These ribs were very over cooked with burnt edges and completely dry. So dry actually difficult to eat. The black molasses and Guinness sauce was cloyingly sweet. I NEVER throw out food, we threw out this dish. There was a scant amount of sautéed vegetables which were fine. 2 out of 3 very good dishes is pretty darn good, but the short ribs were so bad it warranted the reduced star review. read more

First time dining at Cafe Panache in over 10 years, so I was excited to dine here on a Saturday night. The obvious benefit of being a BYOB, it was definitely a packed house. My starter was a shrimp dish, which had great flavors and added shaved nuts that helped the texture. My entree was the Swordfish which was cooked perfectly. Overall, this place is definitely more on the fancier side, but the food is on point, and the drinks are free soooooooooo sounds like a good time to me. read more

. If I could award more stars I would. My husband and I, almost last minute, wanted to order food for takeout for Valentine's Day. After reviewing highly rated restaurants we called Cafe Panache and they were accommodating enough to fit us in for takeout. We each ordered an appetizer and an entrée, and we split a dessert from the Valentine's Day menu. My husband ordered the foie gras with poached pears. The portion was incredibly generous for the price and the quality was terrific. I ordered the Moroccan spiced crab cake with spicy aioli and it was phenomenal. It was not heavy like most crab cakes but still so decadent. A great balance of spices and delicate crab flavor. As for the entrée, my husband ordered the osso buco with polenta and vegetables. Once again, the portion was phenomenal, the veal was fork tender, and the polenta was creamy and cheesy. I ordered the butter poached lobster with cauliflower purée and a carrot-vanilla coulis. It came with a tail, a claw, a few knuckle pieces, all de-shelled of course. The sauce was so succulent and the purée was absolute velvet. Decadence on a plate. For dessert we shared the sticky fig pudding with the best vanilla ice cream and a wonderful caramel. I would gladly have a saucer of the warm caramel with as much whipped cream as humanly possible that can be fit on top without toppling off. A great way to wrap up the meal. This was definitely the best meal we have had in a LONG time, and what's even more promising was that it was THIS good as takeout.
