    Italian Stromboli

This was the Italian Stromboli that I ordered for takeout Oct. 8th. Emailed the photos to mgmt, hoping for a reason of barely any cheese and a pinch of ham. Still no explanation. I cut it in half and sliced open to prove how little meat and cheese were in it. Do not order the Italian Stromboli.

I think Cafe Pomodoro deserves more of a 3.5 star rating, but the food was fast and the waiter was so nice that I'd bump it up to 4/5. I think the food was good, but it was nothing special. Also, it wasn't hot like I wished it was and parts were a bit almost cold, I'd say. The salad was nothing special, but most Italian restaurants' starter salads are just basic salads. I can say it did taste fresh though, which is definitely a plus! The penne alla vodka is definitely recommended if you want to try Cafe Pomodoro... you can't go wrong with it! The restaurant itself was very clean and I loved the decor on the walls. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to try the pizza but it looked delicious! Overall, I would say nothing special but it does the job if you're hoping for an Italian meal!

Just left there with a take out chicken parm sandwich. Could not finish eating it because it was that bad.

The chicken picatta was so, so good- just the right amount of lemony goodness. The Marsala was my husband's favorite- he's said it's some of the best he's had. My daughter said her veal was delicious. Get the cannoli- even if you don't normally like cannolis. My daughter loved her gooey snickerdoodle butter cake topped with ice cream. The decor and staff are everything you want in a family-owned Italian restaurant. There was Sinatra music playing and My Cousin Vinny on the TV - it was great. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It is a small restaurant with limited seating. If you are pressed, make a reservation. Don't go here, if you want quick, impersonal service. Street parking, just a heads up.

I tried the meatball appetizer - it was decent but not really anything special. For dinner I had the chicken parm in a blush sauce which came with a side of gnocchi and my dining partner had grandmas Sunday gravy, again both decent. We skipped dessert because it was a decent amount of food. The other thing I'll mention is you're going to want to make reservations if you go. The entire restaurant seats what seems like 30 people.

I enjoyed a smoky Bourbon Old Fashion with a tastily prepared arancini appetizer. The rice balls were crispy on the outside and deliciously cheesy on the inside!! Not one, or two but Six came with appetizer, like I said, we were there to eat!! Tempted by the creative menu and the numerous seafood dishes, we opted to keep it old school, chicken cutlet parmigiana!!! A massive cutlet covered with love and a thick layer of oozing hot parmigiana. Fantastic! The cutlets came with a rustic bowl of penne in a tantalizing blush sauce and kissed with some yummy cheese shavings. Completely full, I was unable to explore dessert but I happily managed to cleanse my palette with a complimentary shot of homemade lemoncello which was like a goodbye hug from a staff that was welcoming and attentive throughout our meal. I will be back! To enjoy the seafood dishes while wisely leaving room for dessert!!!

Our waiter was kind and attentive, which was impressive given the obvious crowds during an especially busy day. We ordered some bruschetta to start, which is divine with the a nice bite of cheese and sweet tomatoes. We also ordered some mushroom soup, a staple of Kennett Square, which was SO good. This might've been the highlight for me. It was rich and flavorful without being heavy. For my entree, I ordered the seafood pasta special, which was gorgeous and colorful with shrimp, clams, and mussels in a lobster cream sauce. It was creamy and the fish was very fresh. I didn't pay this time, but it was a bit on the pricier end with entrees ranging from $25-$35. I really loved it here.
