If you're looking for a sad and empty place with incredibly bad lighting and horrible alcohol and food options then you have found the right place! I've only ever been here three other times, though I have lived in the neighborhood for 12 years. We were celebrating one of my best friends 50th birthday at Honor restaurant, then came to play pool even though it was dead at what should have been rush-hour. Out of nowhere the manager kicked us out in the most dramatic and unsubstantiated way. My friend was in the bathroom and when he came out the security guard was waiting for him. The manager was disrespectful and talked to me like a toddler,even though I'm a 45-year-old adult. He seemed both confrontational yet also dismissive if that makes sense, it was so weird. He ruined our entire evening. I do wanna mention that his employees were kind and on point and understanding and probably just doing his bidding. Literally never again will I go to that establishment and I will let my neighbors and friends know as well. I'm not even quite sure how they stay in business just based on the amount of people I see playing pool when I drive-by. I use to come here before they change the name and owner. We had called to reserve a table and the person that answered said that they will put us down at 830pm. We assumed that we reserved it because they gave us a time. We got to the place and the white girl who was working in front told us that the person that answered the phone wasn't there and they have no reservation for the name we gave them. But they had our info which makes no sense. Why would you guys answer the phone and give us a time then tells us that the person isn't here. Never coming back to this place again. The vibe is a lot different now. The Ohana cannabis club took half of the left side so it's smaller in the pool hall and it looks crowded. Don't come to this place! I took my wife to this bar to shoot pool but it wasn't a great experience. Equipment is not taken care off pool balls were chipped and staff were not paying attention to customers. Been here twice but the last time will be definitely the last time. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice cant fool me again. Entered the bar and the lass was on her phone texting. She looked up ignored us to continue her texting. Not even a "hey sorry just let me finish this" actually not even a "hey". Listen i won't go into all the details of my horrendous experience because i might throw up shaking and crying reliving the night but just know i don't look for great service usually. I KNOW most people hate their jobs. I know they probably dont pay enough for you to care. I dont care if you dont care. What i do care about is random hostility. Decided to check this spot out for the first time last night. Walked to the bar and wasn't acknowledged for 15 minutes. Wasn't even busy, but I remained patient. The manager or owner finally came up to me and offered me a menu. Said he would come back in a few minutes. Ended up being another 15 minutes. I got his attention, he said sorry, I will get to you, I'm swamped. I decided to leave after that. Wasted 30 minutes of my time. No sorry or anything. For dinner I had beer-battered cod burger w/tartar sauce for $9, which came with a side of fries. It came out as a sandwich instead of a burger; as the bread was crunchier, I enjoyed the sandwich more. At this price point, I expect a simple, no-frills meal; I received exactly that. The toppings seemed fresh enough, the cod didn't seem over-battered or excessively oily, and the fries seemed crisp enough. I personally would have liked less salt on the fries, but that remains a nitpick. read more

I've never written a bad review before, but it irks me when a business straight up lies to my face. We went to play pool for my husband's birthday. He used to go here all the time. He doesn't drink now, so out of respect, most of our group wasn't drinking. After our first hour was over, the employee told us all the pool tables were reserved for the next hour or two (despite multiple open tables). We immediately guessed they were lying- the reason being we weren't ordering many drinks, and my husband explained he was sober. We put our name on the waiting list for the next table (nobody else was on it). While waiting to decide what we'd do next, our friend tried to order a drink at the bar. After 15 minutes the bartender never came by to take their order (despite nobody else walking up to the bar), but in that time we saw two groups come in and get a pool table (one had a reservation and one did not- we know as we asked the groups directly). We totally would have understood it if the employees were upfront about there being a minimum table spend, but to lie to our faces was very unprofessional. We left and went to Tipsy Putt (highly recommend- it had much better vibes and customer service). We won't be returning to Broken Rack, but we hope they make it more sober- friendly in the future and are honest to their customers. read more

Weird rules with the pool tables. We were asked to leave after an hour because they only allow you to play for one hour. When I asked for clarification they said we could stay if we bought food. I had already bought food, but apparently it wasn't enough. This would make sense on a busy night, but there were 6 other available tables. Not sure why they wouldn't want to take my money but I won't be coming back. Billiards 31 is the better choice. read more

I used to love this place, went every week. Since the pandemic, they cut their size in half, got rid of solo rates for tables, have far less full size tables and now if I need to park it is another 4$ for 2 hours on top of the extra charges. We have tried to go 4 times since the summer when there were announcements of openin that did not happen. Just tried again today, now they are no longer open 7 days. Sad, there once were many regulars. Just read a review sayin some staff are not vaxxed? That finishes it, I'll be lookin for a new place. read more

This place finally opened. It's been opened for a few days now. A nice place to chill have a drink and some pupu's. We went here on a Sunday around 5pm and it wasn't crowded or loud but I was told it does get crowded. We sat at the bar and our server, Shondon (not sure if this is the correct spelling), she was totally the best. She represented hospitality and customer service. Went the other night. The waitress came over and told us we had 15 minutes left on the table. I was informed that there was an hour limit on the pool tables after the fact. I have never heard of this at a pool hall. They had my credit card, so there wasn't an hour prepay. After we relinquished the table, we sat around and finished our drinks. No one came to play on the table we had just given up.. The staff were polite and courteous. read more

The food is great, but the service could be better. We were basically kicked out after an hour because there is a waitlist, which is fine. However, that was never explained to us at the beginning, otherwise we would've left because I drove from San Jose to only be cut short at an hour of play. This new location is huge! Sooooooo many pool tables to choose from. Way bigger than the last location. I've only been during happy hour. So i'm unsure how crowded it can get during the weekends but so far, I've been able to walk in and get a table to play. THEY HAVE FRIED PICKLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you haven't tried any, TRY IT! I'm telling you, you won't be disappointed. Not to mention it helps if your really drunk (high in salt). Whatever that dipping sauce is that comes with it is good too. They give a lot so expect to share. Full bar with a ton of options. Even ciders for those that want a beer but not really. If you want to order food while playing, let them know and they'll have a server come to your table. read more

Billiards was a game that I never really got into. I was never too savvy with pool, even o Yahoo Pool but I can appreciate an establishment for those that are enthusiasts. By far it's a great place, pictures of great shooters posted on their walls, a handful of pool tables all though out the building, and a table that looked like a pool table but with only three balls. They had a good selection of brews on tap as well as bottled and from the looks of it a menu. The bartenders seems alright and their waitresses were on their game with picking up empty glasses. I think it'd be a great place for a team building. Maybe I'll suggest i when that topic comes up at work. read more

My wife and I went here for dinner and had a great time. We both got the Lamb, one well done with wedge salad and the other medium well with patatas bravas. The meat was cooked to the appropriate temperatures and the curry sauce that came with the dish was delicious. We didn't have any cocktails but we did have some beers and they were good. Although the new menu is a little pricey compared to before it is definitely worth the cost and the pool tables are nicely spread apart so this spot is worth a visit. We will be back read more

We came here before on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite alright. Nothing much was going on at the time so the service was good. We decided to come back, yesterday, to grab a beer and dinner. This time, however, it was atrocious, really. The bar was a little crowded, that is, the seats were taken but it was nowhere nearly crowded. The bartender was a little too busy attending the bar (a second bartender would have been better) but, again, the service was alright. There were two waitresses who were standing around at times, purposefully ignoring the bar guests. They were obviously treating the bar area as not their "territory". Once, I asked for a glass of water and because the bartender was not there, I hope the waitress would help me out. She rolled her eyes and said: "suuuuure." Really? Yes! Then, she proceeded, without pouring a glass of water, which was right in front of her, but going to find the bartender, who was busy, to let him know that I asked for a glass of water. I was shocked. Later, when I was waiting for my food, I saw the chef (who was super super slow) had prepped it and it was waiting on the kitchen counter to be picked up by someone, however, again, all the waitresses ignored my food which was getting cold and I had to wait for the bartender to come back and pick it up just to literally give it to me and I was sitting two steps from the kitchen counter. I guess the waitresses do not get a share of the bartender's tip and so they only "focus" on "their" guests. It was absolutely ridiculous. First time coming here. Overall a positive experience. The food was great, and couple of nice drink selections. Not very many spots to eat at, mainly just a bar area. Menu was not very big at all, and no really finger foods. There is a lot of Pool tables and I figure if I were to play pool I'd want to have some food selections I can easily eat while playing? That was not the case, only thing that I could eat while playing was the fries. The price point on the food was really crazy as well, $20 for a burger, some other items were close to $30, is this a dinning restaurant or a hangout spot ? A little bit of an identity crisis if you ask me. Legit spot to go and let loose. They have darts, pool tables, foosball! Strong drinks. Didn't try the food as I was in competitive mode at the dart and foosball areas. But it looks like your typical bar food. Recommend for a chill night with friends. read more

The moment my friend and I walked in, we were greeted by a friendly woman named Shawnday. She recommended we try to the wings and split the burger and fries. We were so glad we did! The wings were fried to a perfect crisp and the burger was juicy and cooked exactly to our liking. The fries were also delicious and crispy! I've been looking for a great billiards bar since Thalassa's in Berkeley shut down last year and this one is great! At $12/hr for 3-6 people its very affordable and the atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and chill. The tables, equipment and balls are all of great quality and seem relatively new or replaced regularly. They also have a bunch of tvs if you want to catch the game. Its fairly brightly lit so it resembles more of a sports bar in comparison to Thalassa's which had a stronger nightlife allure to it. This place is also really close to Ironworks the climbing gym, so I will definitely be coming here with my friends after a hard night of climbing to grab a beer and relax more often! read more

Came here for the New Year Tournament with my boyfriend and to my surprise it is one of the cleanest billiards I've ever stepped foot into. To my knowledge they just moved into this location a few months ago and it by far is a really great location. The location itself is really big and has a lot of room between tables for the players to play. The room itself is well lit and has seating areas for the spectators to watch. They have a full bar and kitchen which has really good food. I got the Irish Nachos and boy oh boy was the delicious. The serving was big enough for my boyfriend and I to share. Although I don't drink that often plenty of the tournament players seemed to be enjoying their drinks. The Broken Rack is definitely one of the nicest and cleanest billiards I've been into and this included the restroom ! read more

The building didn't smell like marijuana and it was really clean. Unlike the last time, you could actually smell the food coming from the kitchen and it smelled good. Cool place to chill and have fun whether you're a pool aficionado , casual pool player or a beginner. I like the fact that there's plenty of tables available for the most part even in a Friday or Saturday night. Even when crowded, it's usually an upbeat atmosphere! There is an open bar with nice size flat screens, as far as the menu there's several options and I prefer the Buffalo wings!
