One of my favorite restaurants in Southern Utah. Great food and service. Reasonably priced as well

Decided to give Cafe Sabor a try at noon on Sunday. Glad we went at noon because the place filled up fast! I ordered the Pork Mole and my wife the Shrimp Frajitas. We also ordered the Spinach Artichoke Dip, it is to die for. The mail courses were very good and there was a lot of food on the table. We will definitely do Cafe Sabor again. read more

I have to rate this place a 3/5 despite the food being really good each time we've been there. We've been here about 5 times now. I started noticing how dirty the place is. The flooring in the front always has stuff all over the floor, the booths we are sat at have food in the cracks that haven't been cleaned up. It's so gross! So when you eat at a place the cleanliness up front makes me fear what's going on in the kitchen. We also waited 45 minutes for our food yesterday and it wasn't busy. I'm not sure we will go back unfortunately I just can't deal with dirty restaurants read more

One of my favorite restaurants in town. It always taste delicious and great value for the price! The chips and salsa are addicting and the carne asada fries are hard to beat! Don't get me started on the fresh tortillas. Any time someone comes to visit us, we always take them here! We love Cafe sabor and unfortunately everyone else does too so be ready for a wait to get in. read more

Food was delicious. Chili verde was great. Server did a great job even though there was a crowd. My only complaint was the hostess who was annoyed because we didn't want to be seated next to the busy kitchen swinging door. Our server saw we were moved to a better location. read more

Waited for 40 minutes for our food after ordering and they weren't busy.. saw other tables who came in well after us get their food at about the same time. I was hoping the food would help me forget about the wait but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Everyone's food was bland and over all just not good. Maybe they have different chefs on Sunday? I love enchiladas, it's my go too. I could see through the enchilada sauce like it was colored water and tasted about the same. Couldn't finish them. I've had them here before and they were good, not great, but good. Really like the place, but management should address quality control. After the fact, they have a "red sauce" and an enchilada sauce. SMH, never heard of this in 50+ years. Yes, I know the different sauces associated with enchiladas. read more

AMAZING FOOD. I Absolutely recommend this Mexican restaurant. The upstairs has a bar area with a really fun atmosphere, and the food is really unique. They sell chocolate candies downstairs that make a great desert. A great place for a family gathering. read more

I walked into the restaurant and talked to the hostess to add my name to the waitlist. She estimated 20 minutes. I got a text confirming my spot in the waitlist, I was 1st. After 30 minutes, I could no longer view my name on the waitlist and people that arrived after I did were being seated. I talked to the hostess again and she stated she didn't have anybody with my name or phone number on the list and asked if I placed my name on the list for this location, and stated I would have to wait another 20 minutes. With attitude, like it was my fault I wasn't on the waiting list. After again waiting without being sat we left. read more

Terrible terrible customer service. They took or order over the phone. Said they were too busy to confirm our order or give us a total. Then they got the order wrong when we picked it up and blamed us for not being specific enough. Don't order from here if you want to be treated like a human being. read more

Disappointing. We ordered some carne asada fries for pickup because we have enjoyed them in the past. It was almost $20 after takeout fees and a tip. I thought "at least it's a big tray of food like I remember" but when I opened it up it was only half full and had a pitiful amount of carne asada. I feel like we got ripped off. It was probably a couple tablespoons of meat, if that. Otherwise, it was just ok. Salsa was pretty bland. With the lack of meat, the flavor of the whole thing was really lacking. We used to frequent the Logan location when we were USU students, but unfortunately we will likely not be back read more

BEWARE ! ! ! An unexpected arbitrary "KITCHEN SURCHARGE" added to your bill: They want you to pay them for their use of their own kitchen to cook their own food. It's like us deducting money from the bill because we want them to pay us for the use of our own car to drive to their café. Or if they claim their surcharge is for increased food costs--then we'll deduct for increased gasoline costs. Menu prices are ubiquitously understood to be the full price you will pay for food (plus tax and tip, if earned.) You do NOT have to pay the extra money just because they add it to your bill. Other options, and let them know, is to reduce or eliminate the tip and/or dispute the credit card charge online. If you just acquiesce and pay the bogus charge then they will keep being dishonest and not forthright. Someday if they see Sabor getting away with this then other restaurants will try doing the same. Eventually your menu will say your meal is only $4. Wow, only $4 for a meal?! But their added fees might be a list of 6 other charges adding up to say $23 more. Silly isn't it. Like hidden "RESORT FEES" at some hotels. read more

Sat at the bar on a busy Friday night and the young woman serving us was phenomenal! The place was packed and every employee was hustling, happy, and helpful. My central purpose in writing this is to recognize CS's PHENOMENAL HOMEMADE RED SALSA AND THIN, WARM, CRISPY, CAFÉ-STYLE CHIPS. Outstanding! The salsa, which I'm guessing is a chile de árbol, has serious heat and the best flavor I've tasted since Lindo Michoacán on east Desert Inn Road in Las Vegas (they are about tied for deliciousness IMHO). Really well done!! So, great service, phenomenal chips and salsa, above average food, nice atmosphere. I still rank it a 5 despite the pesky $4 upcharge for asking for combined steak and chicken fajitas ($4 more on a $12 dish? Yikes!). The salsa and service were so good they turned a 4 into a 5! The service here needs some work. It took forever to get our order placed. For the four of us we ordered two of the fajitas for two and an order of guacamole as an appetizer. We were half through an entire basket of chips before we received our drinks. The sizzling fajitas showed up before the guacamole appetizer, so the manager said that the quac would be on them. Well, we figured out after we paid that they still charged us for it so we just let it go. The tortillas for the fajitas came out after we had all eaten about half of the meat and veggies on the sizzling platters. I have to say the food did taste good. It would have been so much better if things came out in the right order and in a timely fashion. If they can get that together, this could be a place that I would return. read more

I'm a tourist stopping over one night in St George before a guided backpack trip. It was a Monday night so I figured the place would be slow but the joint was hopping with a 35 minute wait. I was alone so went upstairs to eat at the bar. The service was slow but it was peak time, and I could see the waitstaff working hard, so I gave them some grace. They had a great beer selection from a local brewery, and the beer came pretty quickly. I also struck up a nice conversation with the couple next to me so I was in no hurry. I ordered shrimp tacos and rice and beans. The tacos were light with fresh salsa, queso and guacamole. The beans and rice were filling without being greasy. Wanted to love this place! However, we waited an hour to get seated and then another hour to get food. I totally get being busy, but basically waiting two hours to eat... kind of crazy. It is such a cute place. We sat at the bar. The drinks were just what we needed! The food was fine. Beans could use salt, rice was ok, but honestly it was decent food and we are happy. Waitress, Sarah, at the bar was just the sweetest. And that alone makes me want to come back. Looking forward to visiting when we make our way back someday!! Every time we come down to Saint George, I have to eat here. They have the upstairs bar area if everyone is over 21. The dinning room down stairs is fairly small, and gets pretty loud. The food has always been good. The fried ice cream is awesome. read more

Been going here for a while now. We have had quite a few items, one of my favorites being the street tacos. All flavors are great. The mild salsa is definitely nothing to talk about, but the "spicy" is great. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I reserved a table on yelp. When we got to cafe Sabor the hostess informed us that they gave our table away and we would have to wait another 30 minutes. When we finally got seated- they sat the 5 of us at a booth. The server didn't check on us- we had to call him over a few times when we needed things like- to order our food, to get water refills. When they finally brought our food out- they forgot several things. We had to call him over again after eating for about 10 minutes. He said oh- I thought someone else was bringing that out to you. I definitely won't be eating there again- even though their food is pretty good. read more

Tonight we went Cafe Sabor here in town. It was the worst experience we have had there. Ever. 1. We didn't get any water until AFTER all of our chips had been eaten. 2. We ordered an appetizer and fajitas. The server never bothered to ask us if we wanted those items brought out together, which we didn't. So she brought them the same time. 3. The size of the tortillas were a JOKE. Straight up SMALL street taco size, super thick, and they only brought out THREE. We could hardly put any meat in the tacos, and couldn't close them because of the thickness and size. We had far too much meat left without any tortillas. SO, I ask if we could get a couple more tortillas (which by the way, our server was making over in the corner of the restaurant while serving us) and she said, "We charge for extra tortillas." What???? 4. She said the tortillas were always that size. That's false. They have changed and they are alarmingly small. 5. It was my husband's birthday so she said she would bring us out an ice cream. But we never saw one brought when she brought our check so we assumed she forgot. 6. She THEN comes back over to the table to tell us that there isn't any ice cream and if he would LIKE A CREAMIE instead. What???? You can bring me a creamie but not an extra tortilla that is normal size? So over it. Worst service ever. Stick with Don Pedro's in Washington. Better price, service, and MUCH more authentic.
