While visiting the St. George area, we stopped at Cafe Sabor for lunch and had a wonderful experience. Our waitress, Elydia, was very attentive and promptly refilled our drinks and chips whenever she noticed they were running low. The complimentary chips and salsa were excellent. The chips tasted freshly made, and we were served two salsa (mild and hot) both packed with flavor. The hot salsa was not as spicy as I anticipated but well seasoned and tasty. I ordered the combo plate with two hard-shell shredded beef tacos, served with rice and refried beans. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. My husband chose the veggie fajitas, which featured a nice medley of mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, and zucchini. He requested black beans with no cheese or sour cream, and the rice and beans plate included a dollop of guacamole. His meal also came with handmade flour tortillas that were soft, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Despite the restaurant being busy, we were seated immediately, and our meals arrived within just a few minutes. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and if we're ever back in the area, we would definitely return.

We came here on Valentine's Day! I got to say they were so nice and fast here! It was a busy night but our waiter was visiting us often keeping our water full and helping us have a good time. We got sat in the basement which I think is their banquet room. It was super nice! The food was super tasty and came out so fast! I would definitely recommend this place and come back soon!

Mixed feelings this time. I gave Sabor 5 stars last time. Let me tell about the good and bad. The booking process for a table was remarkably organized. I'm most impressed with this part of the visit. Wish other restaurants were as efficient. Our waiter was problematic. Forgot to bring water and never checked on the water. He was fast getting us the check. Now the food. the quesadillas were amazing. The chicken chimichanga is prepared in advance in bulk and fried and there is barely any chicken in them. Much different than my last visit sadly. I asked for chimichanga without cheese and the waiter came back and said they buy them already prepared and they all have cheese. The chips and salsa are to die for wonderful.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves! If possible, the SERVICE might be the best part of the whole experience. Yes, I said experience. They are that kind, attentive, and intent in making your meal their top priority. There is no pandering for a tip, the staff truly loves where they work and what they serve. They're so gosh darn nice! Trust me. Head in and you'll know what I'm talking about. You walk away sounding like your sweet grandma, " that waiter was sooo niiice Ralf!) Back to the food. We ordered the "surf and turf" burrito. GET THE RICE AND BEANS!! So this big boy is loaded in and out with tender meats: shrimp, steak and chicken. And it's drenched in the sauce. Shudder! The SAUCE!! My toes curl just thinking about it. Save some chips for scooping it up. (Don't worry your waiter brings you homemade chips and salsa when you sit down. They have no problem refilling your chips. Salsa and drinks as many times and you'd like. Back to the sauce. Creamy, flavorful and all over the place. Get the rice and beans and it's just swimming in a soup of seduction. Also, it's big so you and your partner can share. (All good things in moderation my friend!). It's about $30 for the plate but who cares when they first bite hits! Are you hungry yet? Get over there!!

Went in and multiple people had shrimp or seafood cocktails that were monster sized. Just went for a burrito and it was delicious. Fast forward to last night, and again staying in a nearby hotel and went to Las Palmas. It's nothing to look at...just a food stand in a gas station. But the lady who took our order was friendly and nice and helpful. Wife ordered a quesadilla with shredded chicken. I got a carne asada burrito with rice and guacamole. They also have a salsa bar...I got the salsa verde and some of the spicy jalapeños, carrots, and onions. Everything tasted great. Lots of carne asada and guacamole in the burrito. The salsa was perfect, and my wife also enjoyed hers. Neither of us could finish. Total cost with a large drink was $26. Overall great value and very good food. Much better than the standard fast food options.

From there, it gets worse. There was an ample amount of cheese, however, there was no pico de gallo, cream or guac. I thought that there might have been a communication error, or maybe their Cali burrito isn't what I had come to expect. So, I decided to try their sister restaurant off of Brigham to make sure. Here I got pretty much the same thing except this time it had pico & crema. Still disappointing. When I think back about the place on Convention, I have to say I was also a little bothered about their kitchen practices. I saw the girl in the front of house and the cook eating while working. As for some better alternatives with a proper Cali burrito (in no particular order): - Monchis on River - Tacos Plaza on River - Aimars on Main As for Las Palmas, I can say that the rolled tacos are good. Also, I will be going back to try other menu options, like the carne asada fries and the bean and cheese burro. Let's hope that these other items sing.
