This place was amazing. Was a pretty quiet place tucked away in a shopping center on the corner of 2nd and Fretz. We had a number of things we would highly recommend. Drinks we started with Inca Kola (lemonade) and Maracuya (Mango Juice). These were a great starter, not tarts but not overly sweet. As an appetizer we got Patacones con ceviche de camaron. These are fried plantains like chips, topped with shrimp and an amazing sauce that will make your mother water. It's served warm and best to be picked up and eaten. This will get you ready for your entree. For a fish entree we had Ceviche de pescado. This is a dish with fish and corn in lemon juice and hot peppers. It's served cold on a bed of lettuce with sweet potato slices. It's very easy on the eyes, flavorful, good mix between the fish and red onions. The sweet potatoes gave it a good contracting flavor. Best eaten with the hot peppers and lemon juice. Our final entree was Lomo Saltado. This is a beef dish served over beans and tomatoes with rice, red onions and cilantro sauce. I put a bed of rice down, covered with onion, then beans, then the beef (which had the most amazing tenderness) and topped with the cilantro sauce. The sauce pulls the whole meal together, and all the flavors works amazingly with each other. Finally we finished with Flan Lucuma. Picture traditional flan but instead of a caramel type topping it was covered in a Peruvian fruit juice that gave it some amazing flavor and not an overpowering sweet. If you've never had Peruvian, it's definitely an experience. Come with an open mind because there were a few times where things were a little odd, but still worth a try. We tried a couple of appetizers - the stuffed avocado was really tasty. The fish ceviche was definitely different than ceviche im used to but it still was worth trying. Definitely more creamy. The one appetizer we didn't care for was the potatoes. That was, just weird. Cold and flavorless. I enjoyed my arroz con pollo. The green sauce really helped. Otherwise the chicken was pretty bland. The potato that came with mine was creamy and great. The fried rice was actually pretty delicious that my friend ordered as well as the Saltada. Overall, great experience. Probably a one time thing for me since a few things just were more on the bland side for me but that's personal preference. Otherwise I know others that love this place and so definitely worth an experience for trying something new! read more

It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the place has character the moment you walk in. It's reasonably priced for lunch.  Good portion size too, we left feeling very full. Kind staff and friendly service. The lomo saltado could've been better. The fries and white rice are heavily salted. The meat was flavorful, but it was very tough. My girlfriends and I came to Zambrano's for dinner the other night and wow we left feeling very full and satisfied. I ordered the lomo saltado and my friends shared the tacu tacu and aguadito. The beef in my lomo saltado was very tender and flavorful. Even the veggies were really yummy and I normally don't love bell peppers! My friends said that the tacu tacu and aguadito were tasty as well. Our server was really sweet and the inside of the restaurant is filled with Peruvian artwork. They even sell little trinkets like alpaca keychains and figurines. Please go give this place a try; it was my first time eating Peruvian food and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more

Peruvian chicken with green sauce, one of my all-time-favorites. Although the Peruvian restaurant has wonderful authentic menu dishes, I have to have their delicious roasted chicken. (The chicken is marinated in soy sauce, lime juice, cumin, oregano, and other delicious spices - the flavor is phenomenal). For an appetizer, we ordered pork tamale wrapped in banana leaves instead of corn husk, unique flavor - absolutely delicious. My hubby ordered 'Lomo Saltado' which is a popular traditional stirfry dish, marinated sirloin strips with tomatoes, cilantro, onions, served with french fries. I ordered half roasted chicken, my two sides were green rice (cilantro, peas, and carrots) and fried yuca (tastic french fries). So the first time we went to Zambrano's just after it opened we were not impressed. We love the owner's other restaurant (Naylamp in South OKC). We were hoping for more of the same just in a closer to us location. Initially, they had some weird significantly less portioned sized menu items. I disliked it very much. I was grumpy for a whole day after eating there the first time. We gave it another go after seeing so many 5/5 star reviews. I'm SO GLAD we gave it another try. They've overhauled their menu and it's glorious. It's regular portion sizes (thank heavens) and a traditional Peruvian menu (not trying to be fancy). Peruvian food has so many complex wonderful flavors and its food that's exudes generosity in both flavors and the way it fills the soul. When they first moved in, they had a stingy menu, but stingy menu no more! I was so delighted with our recent dining experience. We got a Pollo la Brasa meal (whole chicken, salad, and fries) and it was spectacular. The salad took me to Peru! It's an authentic (generously portioned) Peruvian salad--YUM!! I'm so happy to have Zambrano's Peruvian Cuisine in Edmond. They have struck gold with their Pollo la Brasa dining experience and their causa hit the spot too! He answered all our questions and also educated us a lot about Peruvian foods. The place is decorated nicely and I loved the outdoor area (even though it was too cool to set outside). Start with a Pisco Sour. Sublime. Then nosh on some Papa Rellanas (fried potato dough stuffed with meat). Delicious. Our table sampled the ceviche. Perfect. The Lomo Saltado. Tasty. And the Seco de Carne. This latter dish was mine and I LOVED it. It's a beef stew (so tender) on top of mashed beans (so delicious) served with rice and pickled onions. I would order this again and again. It was not too crowded when we were there but I hope that this place gets the crowds soon. Really, you must eat here! read more

First time here and we will be back. Try the Maracuya drink its passion fruit and so delicious. I had the chicken thighs with green rice and a side salad. There was so much food I could only eat half of it. The green sauce is so good and has a bit of a kick to it. He had the Paella with fresh seafood and again so much food we could only eat half of it. We really wanted to try the ice cream or flan but we didn't have room. The decor is so inviting and we loved the vibe with the music. Best of all, the server was so helpful and kind. Tried a new restaurant today in Edmond. It was very clean,quiet inside. Great service and food was delicious. The menu is limited but I'm sure they will add as business increases. The server was very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely be back. The Lomo saltado was very tasty. It was seasoned very well. It had marinated sirloin steak strips, white rice, pickled onions and tomatoes with a soy sauce mix and French fries as well as side of cilantro lime spicy sauce. The tacu tacu was a rice and bean blend pancake topped with thin steak and fried egg, side of avocado,red onions and fried ripe plantain. The desserts looked amazing but we were too stuffed to try. First thing, service here left a lot to be desired. Very standoffish, not friendly. Our server started by unnecessarily explaining basic things on the menu to my husband, who didn't need the lesson. There were issues with all of our dishes. The meats and other ingredients inside the tamale were tough and hard to chew, parts even inedible. So they are freezing and microwaving them to order. Yucca fries portion was tiny. Sweet potato in our ceviche was undercooked and hard. Oddly enough she removed them from our plate and brought us a new better cooked batch. They also stiffed us on the mayo for our salchipapas, and when I asked for it they brought a tiny cup of store brand. Come on now...What Peruvian restaurant doesn't serve fresh mayonnaise? Most places will just bring an entire squirt bottle. Dining room has a lot of exaggerated culture all over the walls, but not an authentic feel, definitely more gimmicky for Americans. Bar has a nice happy hour for drinks (though I have yet to try any). Their air conditioner cools better the farther into the dining room you sit. It was very warm and humid by the windows. Lastly, prices are on the high side, which is typical for Peruvian food. But they have a nice lunch menu with better pricing on weekdays. I was expecting more from this place, considering the five star rating. But flavor is there so they definitely have potential. read more

I got the Pollo Saltado which I have had in Los Angeles at various Peruvian places...Zambrano's was SO much tastier. It comes with white rice shaped like Macchu Picchu (:P) and crinkle fries. OMG the sauce, especially soaked into that rice and fries. *Perfection* The rotisserie chicken is also amazingly juicy and flavorful with the green cilantro sauce. I highly recommend this place and definitely will be back again and again! Super friendly owner, amazing food. This place is a hidden gem. This location has only been open for 7 months or so, and if good food draws people in, this place is going to be a success. We were shocked to find ourselves the only patrons for dinner on a Thursday evening. The owner, Aaron, was super sweet. He came over and we asked him the two most specialty things to have that were on the menue as i was in the mood to just try whatever he suggested. He mentioned the Ceviche as well as, what I expected, the Lomo Saltado. So we ordered one of each and a Tamal for an appetizer because I just couldn't help myself. Was soooo glad we ordered the Tamal, even my husband, who is not typically a fan of tamales thought it fantastic. It arrived unwrapped from it's banana leaf and with a little salad of onions with tons of cilantro and covered in lime juice. It was so tasty! The ceviche was very nice. Not fishy at all, but the flavor fantastic. Cilantro, lime and some sort of peppery kick to it, onions again and two types of corn (one like un popped hominy and the other toasted crunchy goodness) between the bright acidity of the lime, sweet of the onion and fish and then the textures of the two types of corn and a little sweet potatoes it would be a fantastic hot summers day dish! When we tried our Lomo Saltado, Aaron explained that the meat is like a stir fry from Chinese influence in Peru and that the french fries that come with it are from American influence of the oil boom in the 60's (please forgive me Aaron if I got that wrong, but that's how I remember it). It was soo delicious. The beef was wonderfully cooked, and the red wine-soy sauce it was cooked in along with the peppers was fantastic. We used the pyramid of rice to soak up every last bit of that sauce (Not to mention the cilantro sauce on the side... I dipped my fries in it, so good!) We weren't in the mood to try the Peruvian beers they had on offer, but if that's your jam, know that they offer two kinds to try. You could tell Aaron has a love for home cooked Peruvian food and was proud of and very knowledgable about everything he served. Soon he said they will be getting their own Peruvian Rotisserie Chickens (very different from the usual rotisserie you get here in the states. I'm looking forward to trying it some day! If you are looking for a nice comfortable date night place where you can sit, have a good conversation in a comfortable environment and eat really good grub at a very fair price... What a hidden gem with great authentic Peruvian dishes and yummy drinks to complement my dinner. I'm glad I've finally found a Peruvian place here with kind staff, consistently delicious food, yummy pisco sours, and great ambience. I've tried the tacu tacu (classic Peruvian dish and a must try if you've never had Peruvian food), lomo saltado (Chinese-inspired beef stir-fry with bell peppers), arroz con mariscos (Peruvian paella), filete de pescados en salsa de mariscos (almost like a creamy curry but without the heavy turmeric spice), parihuela (reminds me of cioppino but better), and ceviche mixto. All were seasoned well. I liked that the ceviche was just right in acidity and not too sour like the ceviches I've tried elsewhere. I haven't gotten a chance to try any desserts, though, as I've been set on trying their pastel tentacion (chocolate cake) but they haven't had it each time I visited.
