I really tried to give this place a shot again only because my dad comes here on a daily with my daughters to get donuts and coffee. The owner was so rude the first time telling the lady behind us (who he knew by name) to come up front and order insisting it was ok even though she said "they were first". That was not nice especially when we are some paying customers. Today topped it for me. Ordered 2 large bobas both to be split in two cups so we can share with our daughters and then he charges me $15! At first he said he charged me for 4 small bobas. Then tells me it won't be filled to the top and if we wanted it all the way to the top pay $3.50 more which he tried to write on the receipt as the tip and I had to stop him and scratch it off like No! I had enough! Like why are you treating us like this when we're giving you business! The wife is sweet but he really ruined it! I rather go across to Sharetea to get my boba plus it's faster if you use the Sharetea app to order and pick up. read more

Came back for breakfast sandwich. Croissant was freshly made, you can tell at the first bite. I had the turkey bacon croissant (yes, I had it for breakfast) and I also got a dozen of fresh donuts holes. Will definitely come back for more sandwiches, donuts and bobba drinks :) read more

I went to this place a couple years ago and the owner was wayyyy different! He was very nice and courteous I even remember when he occasionally brought his daughter there and she would help out maybe age 5 at the time. Now the owner has remodeled his establishment and his attitude!? He was very rude lets just start when my wife and I walked in he acted like he has too much caffeine overly talking not listening and made it a point to keep mentioning he was the owner. Then when we finally begin to pay my wife hands him the money in which he places on the counter reached to the register and places it on the table disregarded her hand being placed in front of him to hand it to her as she did him. The point that he hollered as if we were being hostile towards him was inappropriate and unacceptable coming from not only an owner but an establishment that he has built and has lasted here for so long. Im sure he still has many loyal customers still that go and that's awesome but that was no way to treat your customer. This place is under new management and I couldn't be more happier with the new owner. The lady is super sweet and very friendly, always greeting her customers as they come in. In addition, they now accept credit cards which is a huge plus...and also sell lotto tickets! read more

I was in the habit of going to this donut shop about once every month or so, only for its location convenience. However, I will not return to this place. First, the man running the place, told me to sit with my paper out of the way for other customers, which I did, and I was very uncomfortable. When other customers did not sit down, I moved to a table. Then, as I was leaving the man started yelling at me, in front of other customers, and told me to get out. On my way out, I thanked him for being "so nice" to his customers. He yelled that he had "had enough," and started acting threatening. This was the first place I knew that had PC use for customers after purchasing food. I definitely recommend the hot ham and cheese sandwich on sourdough. It always hits the spot. I also recommend the watermelon slush drink with tapioca or the taro root slush drink with tapioca. You can't go wrong with those. A unique shop not only in Hercules, but much of west county. I had a Taro drink with milk and boba and was very satisfied. Not too sweet, which suits my tastes. Also had a Club sandwich and was surprised at how good it was. It seems there's a new owner, and while I hadn't been to this spot in years, the current owner made me fee welcome and appreciated. This is one of two places that I know of in Hercules that serve boba drinks. I try to go to this establishment because it is family owned and I want to support the small business. However, I am going to take a break from this place. I have come to Cafe Tapioca and on more than one occasion I have not been satisfied with the service. On this last occasion, the owner started to take my order then proceeded to take the order of 3 other people who came in after me before finishing my order. My wife and I crave boba often. It can be fairly hard to find a decent place in the East bay let alone most places outside of SF. We were randomly over by Home Depot and saw this place. We decided to give it a try. We had a canteloupe slushy with boba, a taro slushy with boba and a mango milk black tea over ice with boba. They were all pretty decent. The boba could use a bit more sweetness but the rest of the drinks were pretty good. I had one of their donuts and it was pretty good too. We have been several times since and the flavors have been pretty consistent. Customer service is what keeps us coming though. They are always pleasant and despite not being open one day, they still served us but we had to go for jelly instead of boba because they hadn't made it that day (why would they, they weren't open). Coming here this morning reminded me of how good Creekside's been to me over the years. Every Saturday for two years they always had my Noah's bagel and Ghiradelli hot chocolate for me, couple of bucks and I was ready for work. I haven't tried a lot of their other food options, but the cafe also has some yummy sounding sandwiches and salads. Free internet for customers, stacks of magazines to read while sitting on their old couch, waiting for your order. In the afternoon a lot of kids hang out outside, which is kind of annoying, but overall a nice cafe. read more

I wish i could give minus stars. I had been coming here for the past 4 months since I moved to Hercules. The staff had always been very pleasant BUT TODAY the owner was there and completely ignored me when i was attempting to place an order. I let it go because the man he was servicing was an older man.. I walked to the counter and he said he was going to make a phone call to get help..When he got back to the counter a group of younger females walked in and he proceeded to say hi and take their oder with me standing in front of him. As soon as my husband told him to not ignore me and that we were next. He started getting loud and saying he "ran things in here" ...i told him how dissapointing he was and we walked out. Being stressed and short staffed is no excuse for rude behaviour. Will no be coming here with my family and will continue to pass on my bad experience. read more

I used to drive pass this place and never bothered going in, but recently gave it a try and surprisingly liked it a lot. It's probably the only good tapioca place in Hercules, and the owner is a really nice guy! I think this place has potential to get busy really quick with some remodeling. Make it look more modernized, put some games out, wifi, etc... Either way, i'll still be back. :) read more

Rude service. I don't know but since the Lotto ticket was sold it seems that the owner has an attitude about his place as if he somehow superior to all. Only 1 person in the shop and the guy was making us "wait 10 secs... wait15 secs more..." I didn't know I needed my stopwatch to wait my turn. He asked my order and then took care of someone else, I assume it was his wife who came out to take my order again and when I questioned him about the order he immediately got defense, took off his shades and tried to stare me down. Asked me if I wanted my donuts so I told him NO.. then as I walked out he told me he didn't want to see me back.. really dude, you donuts aren't even fresh. This is a great little place to get coffee or boba in Hercules. The owners are super friendly and always try to have a conversation with you when you come in. This is not like a corporate coffee shop where they want you in and out fast, so yes the drinks do take some time. The prices are very reasonable and the drinks are good. I don't go here very often but I like this place for it's boba tea. Watch out though, most of the flavors are artificial but there is a list of flavors on the wall to the left of the counter that lists off which flavors are made from fresh fruit. Yelp needs "half stars" because basing this place on giving the customer what they want, I would rate this place 2 1/2 stars not 3. But since I go here for a specific drink, I will be generous and give them 3 stars. I will not mention what my drink is bc I don't want to give this place any more "press". Anyways, I asked for an extra half scoop/pump of chocolate for my drink and she wanted to charge me a quarter. I hate to say it but I can get a better version of my drink at Panera but Panera service sucks and they are horribly slow. But panera's version of my drink is bigger and cheaper. I don't go to Panera anymore bc it is out of my way and annoying to deal with. And after today, this will be my last time going to creekside cafe in a while. I strongly believe in serving a customer's needs and tastes, and this place doesn't abide by that. They are cheap and just want to maximize on their product. TACKY! Worst way to do business. They should take a more from Starbucks (a thriving business). Starbucks will give out a cup of whipped cream at no charge. And smile while giving to you. They also put extra pumps of whatever syrup to your liking. With that said, ill find some place else to spend my money. Oh and another thing, their tapioca drinks SUCK!
