In one word the food is " crap ". Ordered several items as Gobhi Manchurian, Hakka Noodles, Kachori chaat, idli vada and Mooli paratha. Nothing among them , which I could say was good. Manchurian was with over boiled mashed cauliflower, hakka noodles no spices, no sauce , no veggies only spring onion. Kachori chaat, kachori was stale and hard to cut even. But the worst was Mooli paratha, in my entire life I have never eaten such paratha with boiled radish and onion mixture. We are fond of parathas but this was so bad that had to throw it entirely. No lines, no one knows what's happening and of course they have no idea about 'customer experience'. SUMMARY: Never been here but tempted to come here one of these days. FOOD The only thing I've eaten here are the samosas. And that's because my supervisor (Indian) brings them from here all the way to SF for our special company gatherings. This place definitely has its strengths. The chaat papdi, dosas, puffs and chhole bhature are great. However the chai, paani puri, pav bhaaji and hakka noodles are really average. Their pastries come in so many different colors that you feel like the chef has an oversized palette of food coloring to his disposal. (Neon green. Seriously!) I mostly come here for snacks.. they have numerous eggless cake options which are as good as the ones I've had in India. Their vegetarian puff pastries are also quite good (really buttery). Their chai (tea) is also one of the best Indian style ones I've had. Overall, I highly recommend it. Its basically similar to a decent neighborhood Bakery shop in India and price is right. This review is long overdue as I have had the pleasure of visiting Taaza about 4 to 5 times over the past 4 months or so. Each time it has been with a large family group and each time the food and customer service has been outstanding. The employees showed patience as our orders were quite large and diverse, yet they took the time to answer our questions and get our orders right. And when the food came it was delicious, from the dosas to the chaat to the biriyani to the fried fish. It is a very casual and fun environment with good food and service.
