Great outdoor seating and very cute vibes. We had dogs with us and they welcomed them with their own water bowl! Really appreciated the bottomless iced coffee at a decent price, although I only did have one glass. Husband got the monte cristo and I got the peach pancakes. Awesome inside and outside venue. Staff was very knowledgeable of menu and polite. I had an omelette and home fries and it was one of the best omelette so have had. I don't get the 4 1/2 star rating. This was my worst experience in Bar Harbor! The inside has a kind of funky bookstore/coffee house vibe. That's the end of the positive comments! With the exception of the host, the staff couldn't have acted more underwhelmed to be there. Not sure if any of them knew how to smile? The coffee came out barely warm (with no option for a sugar substitute), the food came out barely warm (and just average). The English muffin came out with no butter and when I asked for butter, the waiter "forgot". By the time he did bring it out, I was done....not with the meal but with this place! I did something I ABSOLUTELY NEVER DO! I left without leaving a tip! It wasn't earned. Definitely NOT recommended! read more

I wouldn't go back for anything but the pancakes. Savory bacon cuddled up with an egg, chipotle mayo, and all the usual BLT fixings on sourdough bread made my day yesterday. Beyond the breakfast BLT, my husband got the scramble and loved it. We grabbed coffee to go for our drive around Acadia, loving the to go option so we didn't have to make another stop. While not the best coffee in town, it was solid, potentially second best. Our waitress was covering a whole room of tables and still managed to provide great service. We loved the feel of the place, both charming and down to earth. Without a doubt this was the best breakfast we had in town and our favorite meal of our week long trip driving north through New England. read more

Talk about QUICK! We got there right when they opened after we watched the sunrise on Cadillac mountain (which also highly recommend) and we got in and out in 30 mins :) sat down right away, we're so nicely greeted with some coffee and then we both ordered the harney and man was that yummy. I personally like when theres more corned beef than potatoes but my guy said it was the best CBH he's had in bar harbor! Would absolutely recommend and look forward to coming back and trying some of these adult beverages next time read more

Wow! Just wow! On the way back from Cadillac mountain hike on a Wednesday evening, we called in to see if we can get a reservation, they were so kind enough to squeeze us in at the last minute. Soon enough the kind maitre de sat us to our table. What a great heart she has- thank you Sussane! We were then immediately greeted by our fabulous server- Tony! He was so warm and friendly that we felt "super welcomed". We ordered the cocktails of the day, which were refreshing to say - the least. Then we got watermelon and Brussel sprouts, boy, were they tasty! We ordered great halibut and sirloin and a bottle of wine to go with! Wow! Delightfully delish!!! This place was just adorable! The atmosphere was a readers paradise, decorated like a cute little reading nook. I got the breakfast burrito with chorizo and it was delicious! I liked that all the toppings were on the side and not all over the burrito. A side of potatoes were an added cost but worth it to split since the burrito was filling enough. Hidden away from the crowds, and a dog-friendly patio, this restaurant has some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Let me explain what I mean by best - fluffy in the middle, made with Maine wild blueberries, and crispy edges. They really know how to pan fry their pancakes really well. Overall, this my favorite breakfast spot in Bar Harbor. I had the country breakfast with pancakes and I was ready for a hike after that...so scrumptious. We loved the restaurant so much that we came back for dinner, after our hike, and had the tuna poke and bibimbap with pork belly. The tuna poke was decent as well as the bibimbap. This place is so cute, and comfortable, it's like being at home. The prices are good also, you can actually afford to eat here, and be full. Wow, good portions and good prices at the same time??? The food was incredible! I had the Harney and the Lobster Benedict, each with an extra side of Housefries. They were both delicious dishes. I don't think I've ever had homemade corned beef that tasted so fresh. The restaurant looks very cute inside, but it's just as nice to sit outside. The staff were very friendly and attentive as well. Blueberry pancakes and french toast are so so especially if it can really be called french toast. Pretty good spot to hang out in Bar Harbor. The menu is very vegetarian friendly so I would say this place won't satisfy the meat and potatoe people well. They have options to add meat on some dishes though. I liked the inside decoration a lot. Each table was so cute with different graphics on the glass top. Staff was really nice and friendly. Food - the most favorite was the beet salad. The bibimbap rice was mehh as it was really dry. The curry was pretty good but not super outstanding. Good options of cocktails. Repeat performance at Cafe this Way. I reviewed this gem of an eatery in Bar Harbor 2 years ago, and everything they do is on point. Starting with their host Tony. This guy is fun, kind and keeps it moving to seat everyone in a timely fashion. Had breakfast here twice during the week's stay. A short wait each time for a table. Enjoyed hot fresh coffee while waiting, which is really welcoming. I had the Lox Plate and The Usual, and pancakes. All plates were fresh, flavorful with generous portions. The pancakes are more like crepes, a little thinner and deliciously crispy on the edges. Pancakes are served with REAL Maple Syrup, without an up charge. A whole lot of value for your money. Service is prompt. My coffee mug was never empty. QUALITY is a staple here. Highly recommend checking this place out! read more
