    Lobster roll blt

We tried the lobster BLT, clam chowder, fried halibut sandwich, and bam shrimp Cobb salad -- all really good! The blueberry soda was a so tasty - definitely worth ordering. That said, our server really brought the experience down. He never checked on us, we had to ask twice for a lime (never got it) and when we asked for his name, he seemed hesitant -- probably because he knows he's not providing great service. It felt like he had a bad attitude from the moment we sat down. I won't share his name because maybe he was having a bad day but come on dude, there was maybe 5 tables in the entire restaurant. Still giving 4 stars because the food and drinks were solid, but the service definitely needs improvement.

If your hungry and are looking for an unusual place to eat go to Route 66 restaurant. Great food, friendly staff, cool looking inside.

Was a great experience for dinning in Bar harbor down town area. Was tucked away hostess was outside. Not your advantage restaurant decor, lots to look at. The service was a bit slower. Food was average: Bluemoon burger- nothing special, a little overcooked Steak and cheese sandwich- Came out nice and hot but bun got soggy quickly. Hot&Sweet wings- really good, plump and had a good crisp!

The food is absolutely amazing! Burgers and fries are always great everytime I've had them. This time we got the mac&cheese and halibut salad special. The cheese sauce was real and the the fish was cooked to perfection!

The popovers are the primary reason to come here. OMG they were so good! It's sort of a hole 8n the wall.spot given that it's down a skinny side street but you'll know the place by the taxi cab outside the top of the building. I got the jackfruit tacos to go, the fries were a little sad but that was from getting them to go. The tacos were really good but I felt like it was missing a sauce. Nice friendly staff.

Food: 4/5 | Service: 3.5/5 | Experience: 4/5 After kayaking, this was one of the few restaurants still open in town, and fortunately, my party of 5 was able to get seated immediately. Service was a bit slow, but that was very understandable as we came half an hour before closing. Interior was also really cool; there were old pictures and many license plates hanging on the walls. I ordered the strawberry milkshake and the fried haddock sandwich. The milkshake was very thick and creamy, and beautifully presented as well. It did not melt fast and hit the spot for me. The sandwich came with a side; I chose mashed potatoes. The haddock was beautifully fried and the fish was flaky yet moist. This restaurant does have some heavy food, but they did do it well.

I was here almost two years ago, in June 2021, when I was in the area, and I still think about those blueberry margaritas. I had as many as I could while I was there. I wish I could buy it in jugs to have back home. You MUST try the blueberry margarita (with a sugar rim - I was given a choice for salt or sugar rim). The mac n cheese bites were also amazing - crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside. The service was great, and the vibes were really cool and unique and retro. My friend told me he was visiting Bar Harbor soon, and I told him he HAS to go here.

My family and I came here for lunch, and it has a very unique interior that makes you feel like you're stepping back into the 50s-60s! The restaurant is head to toe decked out in retro gadgets and signs, and super cool. The food took a very long time to come, but was overall pretty alright. Also important to note that we visited Maine during a non-peak season, and this was one of the few restaurants that were open, if you're planning a visit! The hostess was very sweet, and our waitress was nice as well. We ordered: 1. Maine Poppables: This was my favorite dish, and I overheard another table order another round of these because they were so good! They're cheese curds served with a flavorful chunky sweet tomato sauce, and the cheese curds were so crispy without being overly oily. 2. BBQ Chicken Pizza: I was disappointed by this one, because the pizza itself was kind of small, and very doughy. There wasn't enough sauce and chicken on it. 3. Lobster Bisque: This was tasty, though there weren't a ton of lobster chunks. 4. Chicken Beet Walnut Salad: Interestingly, no dressing was served with this. The chicken was really good - juicy and grilled nicely. There weren't a lot of beets in it, but the candied walnuts were great. Portion was a bit small though. 5. Route 66 Pile Up Burger: My brother enjoyed his burger and the fries were decently crispy!

I am on vacation in Maine and we stopped at Route 66 in Bar Harbor around 2pm which was a good time cause it was not busy at all. The restaurant is very spacious with a lot of seating (they have an upper level too) and there's tons of unique antique decorations as well as license plates covering the walls. We were seated right away and our server was patient and did a great job answering any questions we had. The food was amazing! My lobster roll was very "meaty" and the clam chowder was good but I would of liked more clams in it. We were all happy with our meals and it was reasonably priced. Overall this was a great place to dine and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Different vibes, cozy, good food n great service. Waitress Emily checked with us from time to time, and always with great smile We had a calm chowder, the best one I had for the past few days, very rich and tasty, is a dollar more than other places but generous portion. Grilled chicken beet walnut salad, chicken a little dry, but with the honey mustard dressing, it tastes better as it goes, and the Seafood Newbury was good. We also had a blueberry misu for dessert, taste ok not too sweet but very watery. We let Emily know and she apologized and even took out from our check, which is a plus plus plus!!

I had the burger special which was fucking fantastic! I was getting pretty tired of seafood at this point and it was the most refreshing change of pace. It was one of those just in time food experiences. C went for the crab cakes. What a gorgeous version of crab cakes they were! Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. If I lived nearby, I would be here all of the time. There were a ton of interesting menu items I would like to try. '26 - 26

We were originally only going to order some small plates , but the one entree with fried chicken looked like something my husband would really like. Cocktails were great. Our server Eli was very friendly and helpful , he answered my questions. The lobster bisque was delicious, and I liked that it had a tempura lobster garnish and the caviar in it was a nice touch too. The tempura wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it , I think only the end part was, but still very good soup. We also got some oysters which were great with the sauces on the side. I ended up getting the halibut, which I never get at a restaurant- but it was so good! With the wakame butter, bok choy, pork belly, and sticky rice. All the flavors worked so well together! Husband got the Cantonese chicken- which was delicious as well. Very crispy, flavorful. We were so stuffed afterwards otherwise we would have got dessert. We ended up taking some Togo even though we had to drive for hours the next day. We put it in a cooler and ate some for lunch cold and it was still good. We had a wedge salad to start which was served a bit differently with their house-made vinaigrette. My husband chose the lobster enchiladas with rice and veggies and a cilantro cream sauce. These were VERY good and I was jealous. I loved them. I chose the fish of the day which was haddock with rice and veggies and a pesto sauce that was SO good! Very fresh and filling. Large filet of fish on this plate. For dessert, I wanted to try the Indian Pudding a la mode and our server informed me that it was very rich and was somewhat like pumpkin pie, ginger cookies and bread pudding. It was something different, but VERY potent and a bit much for us. We swapped it out for the blueberry apple crumble and were much happier with that. All in all, a wonderful dinner on a rainy night for my birthday. We'd happily come back to this spot for a date night while in town.
