Disgusting. Writing this from the bathroom if that tells you anything. Girl taking orders had to ask me what I meant by beef. She didn't know if beef meant steak or pork. Bad sign. Then she forgot my wife's bubble tea. When it did come it had one bubble. And we're pretty sure that bubble was mold. I had the sandwich. So not worth it. It's nice to have something open up other than a big chain. All of the space around here is filling up quickly with a bunch of big chains, so getting a Vietnamese place is a nice surprise. $6 for a honey glazed pork Banh Mi is a great deal. Finally a decent banh mi south of SLC. I had almost given up, until this perfect ratio of bbq pork, daikon radish, carrots, jalapeño, and cilantro arrived. Sandwiches in between the most delightful bun. I am elated and will be ordering again! read more

Craving for something light and yummy and cafe Trang hit the spot! This was my first time at this location and it was great! I ordered online and my husband picked it up 10/15 minutes later. I ordered a large Pho and It was piping hot and the noodles were not over cooked. the reason for the four stars instead of the 5 is that I would have liked the broth to be a little more flavorful. It smelt of star anise and cinnamon but when it came to taste it was a little flat. Fortunately, I have an Arsenal of Asian condiments and Cafe Trang also included a hoisin and sriracha mix and lime on the side! All in all, it definitely hit the spot for this mamas cravings! Their noodles are pretty good, I got chicken and my friend got pork. The meats were well seasoned and sweeter. The sauces were more spicy, but the meat did balance them out. I just wasn't a fan of the spring rolls or the sauce with them. Everything else was good. read more

I dont want go on ranting bad things about this restaurant but i will say this . After having experienced bahn mi and pho as well as spring rolls as multiple vietnamese restaurants in town, this was by far the worst i have experienced in terms of these food. The pho was okay but the bahn mi bread was pretty awful and we got ours soggy and extremely stale to the point where we had to sadly abandon eating it mid way on and be done with it. The spring rolls or whatever is rolled using their rice paper and for whatever reason was super chewy and i felt like i was chewing on a gum that a roll , guys please get atleast the rolls right!!. The ambience is okay as its a new restaurant and i will try and visit one more time before coming to a full conclusion as having barely opened , i am giving them the benefit of doubt in terms of getting things organized and rolling but still cafe trang is established in other locations and i expected much better food from them. the service appeared to be stretched at times due to volume of orders and speed at which it was done per order and maybe that played a part in the quality of food we got and we probably were in at wrong time of day or wrong day of the week . However based on food we got and the fact that we could not eat what we got owing to quality of food we got, i am forced to give this a 1 star for now. My experience at this place was amazing! The workers are so nice, the place was very clean, and they had amazing tasting foods! I got the banh mi with honey glazed grilled pork, spring rolls, and a winter melon bubble tea! I grew up with A LOT of Vietnamese food in Oregon and this has matched the flavors exactly! I consider myself a regular here; I am addicted to the Combination Pho. The meat is tender and fresh, the broth is perfectly seasoned, and the cleanliness is unbeatable. I love that they prepare the food in front of you. I have had one instance when the service wasn't great about 45 minutes before they were closing for the evening (and I was the only customer), but the other times have been okay. The prices are pretty standard for Vietnamese food. I have also had their bahn mi, and it was pretty good, but a little too sweet for my liking and I will stick to the pho for now. I am looking forward to going again soon, and maybe, I will try some other dishes as well. read more

Wow! We love their Pho! This week since we are feeling under the weather we have had delivery and also picked up our order from the restaurant and I am impressed! Their pho broth is super flavorful, and it's the clearest broth I've had as far as pho goes. We love their pho so much we have had it three times in a week! I also love their spring rolls with shrimp and their bahn mi's are super delicious as well. The Pho is the best and I will be back all winter for it. Came in on a whim during a date night and was nicely surprised. I got a Bánh mì with grilled pork. The bread had a nice crisp exterior. The meat was flavorful with a nice sweet sauce. Rounding out the sandwich was some nice pickled veg and fresh herbs. this is one of the best line restaurants I've ever been to. the eggrolls are by far the best I've ever had, the pho has a minty edge to it, and the glazed pork bahn mi sandwich is my literal favorite food right now. Way better than Zao, and it's ingredients taste even more fresh. Plus recently I went there after a bill had hit my account when I wasn't expecting, and my card declined after paying most of it. they didn't hold it over my head when it happened and just offered me the food anyway. it was so kind and I was so embarrassed, but I'm tipping them even more than usual every time I go there now. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The restaurant is clean and sleek, with lots of open seating despite the crowds of people who were there. As far as the food goes, the ban mi sandwich was fantastic. The bread was fresh and vegetables delicious. The pho was also very good. I think the broth was by itself super tasty. For just 90 cents more than the price of the small bowl you can almost double the quantity. I haven't tried the boba but from what I saw on other tables it looked great. They have a good take on modern Vietnamese food. I like their setup at their restaurant. I ordered the Pho combination and it lacked some flavor in the broth. The Banh Mi (sandwich) sure made up for the Pho. The meat was grilled to perfection and was loaded with fresh veggies. A phò place near me? Bliss! Apparently this is part of a chain, but all is forgiven because the phò is delicious. I got a small phò with steak, hubby got the large, sizes were great. We also got an order of spring rolls which, while made fresh, were not my favorite (the sauce was to syrupy). I liked the modern feel- no waiters, just move through the order line similar to Subway or Cafe Rio. The boba drinks are excellent, I have yet to try a flavor I don't like. They are smoothies similar to roxberry- frozen and creamy- and the bobas are tapioca balls, not juice filled bubbles. After going a few times, I have to say that their broth is truly phenomenal. The spices are subtly layered yet distinct, better than lots of other places around. However, the vegetables are the wild card. Sometimes they're fresh and crisp and you get a generous portion, other times they are past prime and you may have to ask for more if you've ordered two portions. read more

This place is close to a 3 but it has GREAT potential. This is part of cafe trang - there is one in salt lake and one in draper. These are larger locations and sit down. This is kinda an express version with a small menu and quicker service. That being said, the prices are great. They are cheap!!!! You can get to entrees here for like $10. I got a bahn mi. I love Vietnamese sandwiches. It wasn't the best one I've had, but hey, I'll take it. They also have good boba. I have high hopes for this place! read more

Came in craving a Thai iced tea boba and decided to get some cream cheese wontons. The Thai iced tea boba was amazing!! I have had so many in so many states and this is a top contender. The cream cheese wontons were really good too. We will return for lunch or dinner very soon!! read more

Over priced and tastes terrible.... Portion is really small for the price they are charging. The pho tasted very Americanized. The broth was not flavorful, unlike the ones in other authentic Vietnamese restaurants. But it was still edible, so 2 stars. If you're really hungry and not picky about what you eat, then it's a good place to go. But if you're looking for authentic Asian food, this is not the place. read more

The worse customer service I've received in my entire life!!! Not only they are not welcoming or courteous, I simply requested a Taro without a biba, but a lychee jelly on the side, the guy who takes your order speaks in his language and me not understanding what his saying to the employees, I said, I don't mind paying extra fees and he said something and laughed rudely!!! None of the employees said anything. I was still courteous, friendly and I said thank when I got my food and yet no response of anything like your welcome or thank you. I enjoyed the food, but they sire made me feel not welcome, like I'm a bother cause I came in!!! I'm from a different culture and there's no way there being racial cause I'm Filipino. All I'm saying, is that at least show you are happy to have customers coming in to your restaurant and ordering and appreaceting your foods for we appreciate you working and cooking. At least be more welcoming and courteous. Don't BE RUDE TO SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE WHEN CUSTOMERS TALKS TO YOU AND THEN LAUGHED. Just for being RUDE to me, I am not coming back from this place. Cafe Trang is a favorite of mine. Their Combination Pho is so good. Walk into their restaurant and they always have a big pot of broth boiling with onions and spices. That's the base of the soup. No wonder it's amazing. Their Boba teas are also delicious. I would put them up against any Boba tea in Utah. They use some fresh fruit along with the boba and tea. Customize it with or without sweetener. The family that runs this loves their customers and gets to know you. Give them a try. read more

I need to actually try the food here because I haven't. I ran in here one evening just to get a Boba Smoothie. I saw that they had them so I wanted a treat so I came to try them out. First off empty except there was one other costumer picking up food to go. Surprisingly I waited a while to get my Boba Smoothie. They do make them right then and there which is great but I think he was struggling a bit making it. Finally got it and I took off. Tried it and it was extremely sweet. Way to sweet for my liking but maybe someone else would like it. I didn't even drink half because it was too sweet. Plus side is they are pretty large sized for $5 you pay. Also I think mine had to many bobas in it. When I would drink I would get like 4 in my mouth. Which is a little bit much for my liking personally. I'm more of a 2 Boba at a time hahaha but maybe I'm being picky. I do want to try to food here it looks great. When I do I'll update this review about the food. It's probably more like 3.5 stars. I've been here a few times, mostly out of convenience. I had high hopes for this place, and it's not bad, but it's not great either. Better pho with more options can be had elsewhere. Maybe I'm just a pho snob? The place is nice and clean. It's an "order at the counter and wait for them to make it while you stand there" kind of place. If you are ordering for more than a couple of people, you'll stand there for longer than you'd like, but it's not horribly slow. They do make it right there in front of you and you can see the meats and veggies and such available for the different menu items, if that makes a difference to you. I came for the pho. I'd rate it about 6/10. The meats are good quality, but a little skimpy. The broth is decent, but nothing special. The price is a bit high for a bowl of pho. It comes with the usual bean sprouts, basil and jalapenos. Sriracha and hoisin are also available, but i miss some of the additional condiments and veggie toppings offered at other Vietnamese places. I also get the shrimp spring rolls when I go here. 5-6/10 on these. Again, nothing special, but won't make you sad you ordered them. My biggest complaint about the spring rolls is that they were very loosely wrapped. And, it wasn't a one-time thing. They've been like that the 3 or 4 times I've ordered them. The peanut sauce they come with tastes like it just came out of a jar. Overall - 3.5 stars. It's not great, but good enough that it will work for a quick fix or if you work/live in the area and don't have time to drive further. Otherwise, just over the hill in Salt Lake county are some much better options. read more

For fast food pho it's good and if you like boba drinks those are good too. I have eaten here several times and have enjoyed my pho.

Since I am on the road so often when I get a chance to come home and eat Pho this is my go to place. There Pho Tai is the best around. The size is just right for me to where I don't have to worry about wasting or having left overs. read more

Love, love, love Cafe Trang. I've eaten at multiple of their locations and definitely prefer their newest (and most convenient to me) West Jordan location. The employees here are super social and helpful, they talked me into something new! The bahn mi with the glazed pork and the traditional pho with steak are my go to favorites. And their cream cheese Rangoons are cooked crisp to order without being oily in any way. They also have a great selection of boba, milk tea, smoothies, and jellies when it comes to creating your perfect sweet drink. I highly recommend Cafe Trang for a very affordable, delicious meal. read more
