first of all, love the free parking in ktown! i've been really loving espresso citrus tonics recently and their rendition is definitely up there for me! it's super flavorful, not too sweet and perfectly acidic. each sip mellows out with the earthy deep flavor of the espresso and melds super well together. the strawberry matcha was also super good, but i'm not a big fan of dairy so i'm not sure i'm an accurate critic. they have 20% off drinks before 2 pm so i'd recommend going before then. it's also a good study spot if you can snag a wallside table with an outlet! free wifi and outlets are available but usually it is pretty filled inside and you'll likely have to wait for a spot. overall great spot! i haven't gotten around to trying their food items but they definitely look promising as well! read more

Originally I wanted to give this 4 stars because of the prices but I will bump it up to a 5 star review since they have 20% off drinks during the daytime before 2 PM and this might just be on the weekdays. There's an interesting variety here- from non-caffeinated drinks to caffeinated drinks to desserts. there are enough seats for people to study or work on and other seating for just people hanging out or meeting up to chat. Modern Cafe that's very popular even on late nights! We wanted shaved ice but didn't want the hassle of oakobing and Sul n beans. Parking can be chaotic and overcrowded for just dessert. Glad our friends took us here. They knew about it because this used to be Miss Coffee that they frequented a lot before. The inside is modern and minimal. Variety of seating. There were many students and people here with their computers. I was really excited to try their shaved ice and that they have 2 sizes. Cafe UPPER is a well known cafe in Ktown. Its late hours are handy if you want a late dessert or place to relax! The strawberry yogurt smoothie was pretty sweet, i would imagine they add some sort of sweet milk or something similar when making it. The strawberry flavor was nice, it did not taste too artificial. This would be a nice treat on a hot day. The matcha donut was delicious. The dough was soft, and the cream inside had a strong matcha flavor. I highly recommend. The strawberry matcha had the same strawberry base as the strawberry yogurt smoothie. The matcha flavor was pretty good, the drink was icy which was interesting. This cafe is typically crowded, but we were lucky to find seats this time. It was pretty chilly inside, but i would assume this is dependent on what temperature the workers for that day prefer. There is a parking lot in the back, which is definitely a positive, especially for ktown. The prices are on the higher end, but the drinks are pretty sizable. The decor is unique, with a sleek theme of reflective objects and tables. During the day, this is a nice place to study, and it definitely is a popular place to study! They have wifi. I came here the other day with friends for some late night caffeine. Parking is easy to access if you come around 10pm on a Saturday night. Service is great and they have a lot of selections from drinks and dessert. The place is spacious; so, it's also great for big group hang outs. I ordered the pistachio einspanner; which is served in coffee. The drink was delicious, but maybe a bit sweet for me. Such a unique and amazing hangout spot! My friends and I came in on a Friday night around 9PM -- there was free parking and no line, which was already a win. A few seats were still available, so we were able to grab one without a wait. We ordered the pistachio, matcha, taro, and black sesame einspanners -- SO GOOD. There is a decent amount of seating but most were taken when I came, mostly by people using their laptops (it was a Sunday night). This was the most seamless visit to a cafe I've had in Koreatown. The parking was easy because of the huge lot and we were able to easily find a seat despite how crowded it was at 10 p.m. They have plenty of indoor seating and variety too whether you're looking for tables, small one-seater squares, bubble chairs, you name it. I also loved how modern the decor was. As for the drinks, I tried the taro einspanner, matcha einspanner, and the Vienna latte. Personally, they were all alright to me as in they weren't bad but they weren't amazing enough where I'd want to go back for any time soon. However, their bingsu is a different story. I got the matcha because the menu said it was the most popular and I saw why right away. It has a very rich flavor and vibrant color, and every shaving of ice is coated. Despite the vibes being casual and busy, I don't know if one would actually be able to get work done effectively here. Seems more of a socializing environment to me than anything else. I came here with my friends during finals week, and it is a good study spot. It is on the pricier end of drinks, but that is pretty average for Koreatown. Food: We tried the vienna latte, matcha latte, and the strawberry bingsoo. The vienna latte was sweet, but not too sweet that it was overpowering; it was perfect for me! The cream on top was delicious and the drink itself looked amazing. The matcha latte was just alright; the matcha was not that strong and there was a lot of ice in this drink, so I would not order the matcha latte again or would opt for a different specialty drink. The strawberry bingsoo was decent, but personally for the price point ($18 for a large), I would just go to a specialized bingsoo place nearby. It was a nice study snack given the free parking and table though! Service/Ambiance: They have a spacious free parking lot and security at the front, which is super rare in ktown. Inside they have lots of tables, nice seating, and a really nice bathroom! The bathroom had mouthwash, which I thought was a nice touch. Once again trying to try as many coffee spots in KTOWN and around as much as possible (not tired of Einspanners just yet!)! I stopped by at around 9pm and there wasn't an empty table in sight! The line was short though so I didn't get enough time to explore the menu but the guy at the cashier was so amazing and patient and recommend the pistachio Einspanner. Passion Fruit Tonic is not too sweet and ideal for anyone that does not want coffee. It has an ounce or two of passionfruit syrup, soda, and rosemary leaf as decoration. Buttercream Latte is not too sweet and has a hint of buttercream taste when mixed with coffee. For me, it was on the stronger side and kept me up for about two to four hours.
