Was lucky enough to find street parking right next to the shop on a weekday. The inside is large, spacious, and was surprisingly packed when we got there. Service was fine. Got the matcha einspanner and strawberry matcha latte with oat milk. Both drinks were pretty good (strong matcha flavor) ~ price on the higher end. Would come back if I'm in the area though!
Beautiful warehouse style cafe and has lots of seating which is perfect for working or relaxing! The matcha was excellent, you can taste the quality of the matcha here, rich and perfect in flavor! Will definitely be back when I come to LA.
First time here. Opens late for a coffee shop in my opinion. Parking is tricky in this area. Amazing vibes inside. Friendly staff. Very cleans. Tons of space to sit and work. Noisy but not too loud to concentrate. Great drinks. A little pricey, but made well. Recommend and would return.
Damo is great. And this new location is so nice and spacious, lots of seating. The customer service is on point and the drinks are great. I opted for an Einspanner which had the perfect creamy foam top. The espresso give my match the perfect punch. One of the best matchas for sure.
10, 10, 10s across the board! I was doing PT around the corner and stopped in for a latte with a friend and it was DIVINE! The spot is serene, the vibes were lovely, and the staff was kind! The lattes were even better! We did the cold brew with vanilla cream too and an oatmilk einspanner latte with cream top. Loved that there's different seating areas and options and saw a few outlets. Parking was an adventure but in the arts district it often is they have a discount code for the lot across from it. Will def be back!
Damo has arguably some of my favorite matcha in LA! I usually frequent their Ktown location, but lately I've been loving their Arts District location - it's so spacious and has plenty of seating and free wifi. The space itself has a modern, peaceful, and elegant vibe. I most recently got the matcha einspanner (less sweet) but subbed it with strawberry cream and oh boy this is one delicious drink! I love the strawberry matcha combination, and their matcha is consistently good quality. I've also gotten their hojicha einspanner and it's delicious too! Parking is street parking (which can be a bit of a challenge) or a paid lot across the street.
Food/Drinks: 8/10 Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 9/10 so this is a new location for Damo and honestly because I saw so many Instagram posts about how great the macho was. I was really excited for it. It wasn't bad but for me personally the Matcha profile wasn't my favorite but overall, I think the café was really nice. I've had Tom before in their OG location and there. Coffee is really good. This new location though is really big and comparison to the one in Ktown, so it's a nice place to get work done especially because they have a big table in the middle of the café where a lot of people can sit down and get work done together. Just a little disappointed on the Matcha, but it is a deep taste and I am willing to come back again.

This is the 2nd Damo location and the original Damo location is located in Koreatown. DAMO is one of many modern and trendy coffee and tea spots that focuses on einspener drinks. [Parking]: There's a parking structure across the store for $5 per hour. Otherwise free street parking is the next best option, but visitors will probably need to circle around the neighborhood. I found a free street parking spot near Mateo St & E 4th Pl (on the bridge). [Atmosphere]: This location is a lot more spacious than the flagship shop in Koreatown ... and yet all tables were still occupied on Saturday afternoon. Sleek and modern interior decor. [Menu]: Their best selling drinks are any of their matcha drinks - Matcha Latte, Matcha Einspanner, and Strawberry Matcha Latte. Unfortunately their signature da-gwa (assorted Korean traditional snacks) was still not available and that was a sign stating "coming soon" as of January 2026. *** Hojicha Einspener (iced hojicha tea + hojicha cream - $7): It was a light and refreshing drink. The drink was a bit watery, but I could still taste hojicha flavor. *** Personally Hojicha Einspener didn't taste as good as Matcha Einspener. The only plus I see for this location is bigger space ... free parking didn't get easier, da-gwa was not available at this location (yet), and all tables were stationed by customers who are here to study. Great vibe for a coffee date or hanging out with friends, but I see this spot as more of a grab-and-go shop during busy hours with nothing interesting to see in the surrounding blocks (Arts District has always been a hit-and-miss area).
This was my first time trying this location. I ordered the matcha einspanner- the matcha flavor was strong and I really enjoyed it. However, while I was drinking it, I found a small piece of wood in my drink. I'm guessing it may have come from the wooden whisk used to prepare the matcha. It was a bit concerning, but I wanted to share my experience.
Perfectly smooth, rich and earthy matcha. Not the kind that is bitter, the kind that is made with love. Fast service, handful of people there chatting or studying. Wide space, could easily get some work done. Would definitely return.
Loved the rustic and minimalist design - plenty of seating and trendy decor to photograph your drink against. Service was quick and we all received our orders within 5 min. I liked how thick and creamy the matcha was, but the aftertaste was a bit too astringent for my taste. If you enjoy strong, not too sweet matcha lattes, Damo is for you!
Aesthetic cafe in the Arts District, but was a bit disappointed with how my drink turned out since I had a good experience at the Ktown location. I got the Hojicha Einspanner and it was decent. The best part was the Hojicha cream top which was creamy and flavorful. However, the Hojicha drink itself was too watery for my liking. Even mixed with the cream it was still too watery. Would've liked more Hojicha flavor. Interior is big and spacious. Great for big groups. There's also WiFi and outlets. Parking is street parking only. I think I would visit again, but probably order something else.

Damo has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the Arts District. Their premium matcha is rich, smooth, and balanced without any bitterness. You can really taste the quality in every sip, and it's clear they take their sourcing and preparation seriously. The minimalistic interior is also a plus for this location. It's a great space for studying, catching up with friends, or just taking a break. It's a spacious interior with much more seating compared to the Koreatown location. read more
8/4/2026 3 1/2 Stars First time at Damo. MATCHA EINSPANER Very creamy matcha. Matcha flavor is there, but it's not distinct matcha where you can taste the nuances of the matcha flavors. The cream top does make it very creamy and it does mask majority of the matcha flavor. It did taste like a dessert drink. It was enjoyable though. COLD BREW VANILLA Weirdly sour and smoky flavored cold brew. Slight floral flavor too. It was such an odd combination of flavors with the vanilla cold foam. The lingering aftertaste was not good either. It's neither this nor that. Would not recommend! FINANCIERS Their financiers are made by a local bakery called Musk. It seems their financier flavors are changed often, so no same flavors are in rotation. Sausage & Parmesan - The almond cake's vanilla flavor with the sausage and salty parmesan was a unique flavor. The almond cake was nice and spongy. It did take a bit of time to get used to the savory flavors with the almond cake. It's like a breakfast in an unexpected way. Nutella - Buttery almond cake with nutella and roasted hazelnuts. Enjoyed it! I think Nutella fans would like it. Mugwort + Fig - Buttery in the beginning and it ends with a good, medium-strength flavor of mugwort. Fig was garnish on top, so you barely get it. However, I like that they added the sweetness of the figs with the earthy bitter mugwort. Overall, it was uniquely delicious and mugwort was the star. Yuza + Apricot - A tad sweeter than expected due to the outer brush of yuza aka yuzu simple syrup. Loved the chewy apricot on top. It really brought a lovely fruityness to the financier. The yuzu flavor was there alongside the butteryness of the almond cake. All the financiers were done well! Delicious! Recommend trying at least one when you're at this location. Not sure if their financiers are offered at their other locations. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good. Not terribly friendly, but still answered my questions. Staff were all busy making the drinks. AMBIANCE + SEATS Really large space with rows of tables and chairs. It was strange walking in and seeing various tables and seats to one side and it almost looked like a cafe used as office space. Seeing all the people sitting down on their laptops or talking, as though they're having a casual business meeting there. It was just strange. The tables were mixed wooden tables and chairs. There were long benches too for people waiting for takeout orders. The large space felt so roomy, I get why the tables were all taken. PARKING Street parking is available, yet when I was there in the early afternoon on a Tuesday, it was packed! The only place to park was the paid parking lot right across from Damo. Parking was $5.00. I wouldn't recommend parking elsewhere outside of that street, as it is a sketchy area and lots of homeless encampments around the area. Would I return? Not sure. I like the large, roomy warehouse space with lots of tables to sit in, but the cafe being in a sketchy area gives me hesitation. Not in love with $5.00 parking too. One of my drinks was good, but the other was bad. The only thing I loved was the financiers. read more

**Horrible Service!** I've been coming here for a while, and I've always had good experiences with the staff. Unfortunately, my visit today was completely different. I ordered two lattes and one strawberry matcha, but the cashier entered my order incorrectly. When my drinks were handed to me, I realized they weren't what I had ordered. I let the employee know about the mistake, and while he remade the drinks, both the cashier and the employee handing out the drinks were rude and came across as if they didn't want to be there. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What was disappointing was the poor attitude and lack of customer service. A friendly apology or a positive interaction would have made a big difference. I genuinely enjoy the drinks here, which is why I keep coming back. However, if guests are going to be treated with this kind of attitude, it makes me question whether I want to return. I hope management addresses this because the quality of the drinks deserves customer service that matches. read more

i tried the matcha latte and the hojicha einspanner here. the matcha latte had the perfect level of sweetness & the matcha shined through. the hojicha einspanner was so decadent & had a lovely, strong hojicha flavor. the interior is absolutely stunning & perfect for working / studying or a casual hangout! definitely a solid matcha staple in la! read more
This location is so cute! Haven't been to the ktown location but the interior is so sleek and modern. Also makes me feel like I'm back in Korea. The place is pretty big. They have a good amount of tables and I see lots of people out with their laptops too. Came on a Sunday afternoon and there was a line but only really took about 10-15 min. Damo is such a great spot in the Arts District. I love how they converted the space into a simple, minimalistic coffee shop. There's a lot of seating available, which makes it a great place to hang out, get some work done, or simply sip on coffee or matcha. I ordered the matcha einspänner and really enjoyed it. The service was quick, and even though the employees were busy working, everything ran smoothly. Overall, a solid coffee spot with a clean aesthetic, good drinks, and plenty of seating--definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area. read more

Since I heard Damo opened up in Arts District, I've been wanting to come - and today was the day! With perfect LA weather for a long weekend, we biked here, and they allowed us to park our bikes inside the store off to the side. We got the latte einspener and hojicha einspener. The hojicha was as I remembered from the ktown location - so good, and my husband enjoyed his latte einspener as well. We also ordered the mugwort financier (needed to eat something after biking) - it was enjoyable but probably not something I'd get again for the cost. Although there was a line when we arrived, the line moved quickly, and service was friendly. Since we biked here, we didn't look too closely at parking, but street parking did look full. Otherwise, there's a couple lots across the street for $5/hour. Will definitely return next time with our dog to sit and enjoy the coffee shop with its beautiful industrial and minimalist aesthetics! read more
Such a cool matcha spot! I visited the Koreatown location a few years ago but forgot what it tasted like haha. This spot was so good though!! It's really spacious and seemed like a great study spot seeing how many customers were working there. The decor is beautiful and unique as well. As for the matcha, it was so yummy. If you prefer matcha that isn't super sweet I recommend this spot. I typically like my matcha on the sweeter side but this was delicious nonetheless. read more
Came here with my boyfriend as a quick stop and loved it. It's near the arts district or in, whichever idk. There is both street parking and a lot across the street that is $5, typical type your license plate in one. This Damo location is huge inside! Super cute lobby type entrance to take your photos. Came here for the matcha cream top and was not disappointed. It is in my current top 2 for California matchas. read more

I usually go to their Ktown location, so I didn't realize they had this one, which is much closer and significantly bigger. We ordered the matcha einspener and the strawberry matcha latte, and both were absolutely delicious. They clearly use high-quality ceremonial matcha. I especially loved the matcha cream top, which really elevated the drink. The strawberry matcha latte had real strawberry bits, which made it even better. Inside, there are plenty of tables and seating, though it was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's mostly street parking, but we were able to find a spot when we went. Definitely recommend this spot for good Matcha! read more
Happy they have a location near me but parking was very difficult to find even on a weekday! I've never been to the Ktown location so wanted to try it here. Ordered the matcha and hojicha einspanner. Both were so good! Was really surprised how much I liked them and now know why they are so popular. Even though I liked both and think this place has one of the best matcha, I liked the hojicha more. I'm a hojicha girlie and it's hard to find a good hojicha place and this is really good. It has the roasted, nutty and bitter taste I like but also very creamy. The matcha is also of high quality. They really take the time to make your drink as they took quite a bit of time to make so you have to be patient. The space is very open and spacious. But still couldn't find a seat because it was packed. Even on a random Wednesday. Would definitely come back if I get a chance. read more
We didn't know that there was another location for Damo in the arts district! There's a ton lot more space and it's still really nice! Would definitely recommend to hit up this place! Not too many Korean-inspired coffee spots in the area here, so it's definitely great that they opened a location here! Always recommend their einspanners and matcha, as well as their hojicha! I know there's so many different popular matcha spots in LA but I think Damo keeps it consistent and the best quality out of the different "trendy" cafes. When my friends and I tried the drinks here all remarks were positive and I throughly appreciated how "not too sweet" everything was. I really liked their matcha + cream top and their double hojicha. I feel like compared to the other places the matcha here it doesn't taste like sugary milk. The interior is also super nice and super spacious. I saw people studying or people talking it away and that's the beauty of cafe culture! read more
Not sure if I get the hype but the matcha was just okay. I remember trying the ktown location and it was way better but maybe they changed their recipe? The matcha was a bit watered down and not as concentrated as the ktown Damo location. Granted that the cups are bigger here so you're getting more but it doesn't really feel like it because it's watered down. In addition to that their logo on the cup is literally masking tape with their name on it. It wasn't bad matcha but just not as good as people hype it up to be. I think stagger and Rok have way better matchas with cream tops. read more

Absolutely love the new location! WAY bigger than the cafe in Korea-town, lots of tables to work or hangout. Even a cute little selfie moment when you walk in. My friends and I visited and we got the black einspanner, strawberry matcha, and coconut matcha refresher. We all took a lil sip of each others to try and of course they were all delicious and not too sweet, which is why I love this place. The cutie cashier was very patient with us since my friend hadn't been before and even asked him questions to make sure he got the drink he wanted. Will definitely be back of course, but if you haven't been to Damo I 100% recommend trying it! read more
Went on a Monday around 9am. Found parking right in front! The store front was quite humble and little advertisement. Kinda like that! I kind of like that! The interior was very simple and spacious. It was quiet inside. I felt a bit odd in talking, but all good :) The two people behind the counter seemed quite nice. I got the matcha latte. I can taste that the matcha was quite fresh! I wish that they opened earlier or opened later, because of my work it's difficult to get here because of the hours. But, I would come back here again!! read more
Heard so many great things about the Damo in ktown checked this newer location in the arts district since I was in the area My sister and I just came back from Korea and were missing the cafe culture there and let me tell you.....Damo made us feel like we were back in Seoul. Parking is street but there are a couple of lots near by. The space is HUGE, very industrial, but still is warm and inviting. The staff is kind and friendly We ordered a matcha einspanner, and my sister got the jeju black tea. there is a big table that is shared with people and on the wall various nature shots are playing via projector. We got our drinks pretty quickly and enjoyed them. The space is good for meeting friends to talk/catch up, good space for big groups, maybe do some work. My matcha was perfect, creamy, nutty but not overly sweet. My sister enjoyed her hot tea and the process of brewing it. I will be back and recommend this place to everyone. bonus: This place is dog friendly so many cute pupps came in! read more
I have always wanted to check out Damo Tea House but always give up at the last minute since the parking situation at Oxford Plaza is pretty bad. I heard they recently opened up another location over in Arts District, and you bet I dragged my friend to finally try out their viral matcha latte! What I tried: Matcha Einspanner (4/5) - Now I get the hype. Their matcha leans on the stronger side with a touch of bitterness, but not in an overpowering way. I actually prefer this over the regular matcha latte (which my friend had), since the cream top adds a nice richness that balances everything out. Vibe : This new location is gorgeous. It's super spacious and feels like stepping into an Arts District furniture showroom with industrial loft vibes softened by greenery and fresh flowers. Honestly, they nailed the aesthetic, and it matches the neighborhood perfectly. Staff here are super friendly and very fashionable! They all got drips for days with their fits! read more
Damo's new Arts District location is so beautiful, spacious , minimalistic and vibey. The servers are all very welcoming and sweet. Plenty of indoor space and tables + seating, but it does get busy in the afternoons! Every drink is delightful with my favorite being their hojicha latte (best in LA imo!!) The matcha tonic is a refreshing option for the summer. read more
I ordered a strawberry matcha w/ oat milk & it was delicious! Matcha was earthy, good quality, hoping for a bit more nutty notes, but yummy nonetheless (4.5/5) Service was pretty quick, received my drink in about 5 mins of ordering. My friends and I waited by a windowsill where you could still sit at since there was no seats on a Sat afternoon. They have a huge space where lots of people are studying and seats to hang out w friends. Packed with so many performative people & it was great HAHA! The cafe is super spacious, but minimalistic. Near the entrance there is a mirror and artistic space for pictures and when you walk down thats where the cafe is with seats & tables. We found street parking blocks away but it can be a bit of a hassle since it is downtown. read more

Airy, clean, and so aesthetically pleasing. Lots of different types of seating. Great place to work. I found it can get busy on the weekends but the crowd didn't deter from the experience. Hojicha einspanner - not too bitter or too sweet. They're generous with the hojicha einspanner cream top. Loved how they added hojicha power too. I'm definitely an einspanner type of gal, but if you don't like cream tops, I'm sure you'd be satisfied with the hojicha latte alone. Loved seeing this unique item on the menu. Must try! Black einspanner - This is definitely tough competition with Maru's cream top. 100% recommend. Yuzu espresso tonic - so refreshing on a hot day! You'll taste the espresso but if you don't like espresso shots, no worries. It mixes well with the tonic and yuzu puree. It's sweet, sparkling, light, and a great alternative for a milk based drink. read more
Damo oh how I love thee. You will undoubtedly live rent free in my mind for many many moons. Love the minimalist Japanese aesthetic. Love the community style seating. Love the vibe. Absolutely loved my matcha einspener. The service was typical LA - nothing extraordinary but also nothing horrible. My matcha einspener with almond milk hit +$8 which these days is a bit normal yet also mind blowing. Street parking is luck of the draw depending on time & day and your patience levels. Damon is a match lover's dream. Situated in a large, bright space. It's mostly white, with large communal tables and some benches. It's a good place to "stop and smell the roses". People seem to hang out here with their laptops. We had just had lunch, so I didn't indulge. But I wanted to. The financiers looked delicious.
