Now, we can enjoy those crispy, kitty-themed BC beers without the long drive north. The setting is lovely, too. They have a HUGE outdoor deck, right on the waterway, which is just about the perfect spot to spend a warm summer afternoon. I also got to visit recently, on a cold, bitter, grey January day, and the beer was just as good enjoyed indoors in their colorful tap room. Can't wait for more great days at Beach Cat as the weather starts to warm up and the sun (rumor has it) decides to come out even more.

The kalua pork tacos were decent; the bao bun was perfectly fluffy like a cloud, but they were a bit greasy, making them slightly soggy. However, the flavor was still great. Our server answered our many questions about drinks and food. Overall, I recommend Ono Kitchen and Bar, especially for the dance lessons and for grabbing a few drinks and bites afterward.

Bicycle & coffee shop with beer, wine, cider, sandwiches/meat/cheeses, & books.... This place is incredible! Just opened by a super friendly local couple, the atmosphere is comfortable, inviting, and warm. Both of the owners are laid back, relaxed, easy going, open, and incredibly knowledgeable about their craft. I was immensely pleased to notice the distinct lack of any of the attitude which seems to be so pervasive at far too many bike and coffee shops; anyone who walked in was made to feel welcomed. The coffee and espresso is superb (Ristretto Roasters from PDX https://rrpdx.com), tasty pastries, delicious & affordable small plates, revolving beers (Duvel) & ciders on tap, and wine by the glass make it hard to go wrong. The bike shop is geared toward practical, everyday, transport bikes, is totally outfitted & stocked with all the basic shop wares plus all the pragmatic/sensible parts needed to fully outfit a year round commuter in stock (fenders/dynamo hubs/bells/racks/etc), and they've accounts to order almost anything else you could ever want or need. The husband handles the wrenching and is a UBI (United Bicycle Institute http://www.bikeschool.com) trained and certified mechanic set up do tackle repairs/wheel builds/overhauls/rebuilds/tune ups/etc. In addition, they also have an awesome bicycle themed library, are the only shop in town that stocks Bicycle Quarterly & Compass tires (the fastest & most comfortable tires ever). Their focus is on encouraging, enabling, and outfitting more people to get onto a bicycle and use them as everyday transportation; helping the environment, bolstering the local economy, increasing community health, and promoting safety. Starting 1/12017, they'll be open 7 days a week and mentioned the addition of events such as hosting group rides, showing classic and current bike races, sponsoring special events, and screening bicycle themed films in the future as they grow into their space and establish themselves. There is a huge front patio for when the weather warms up with tons of secure bike parking, they even have several loaner locks you can borrow if you forget yours or stop in for an espresso on a training ride. It took another customer watching me struggle one-handed with baby in my other arm to ask if I needed help. I know it's not required, but it would be nice to be assisted by servers if they see you struggling. As far as the cafe itself, the lighting is gorgeous, there is tons of seating, and I can tell it is likely a wonderful spot to do remote work or meet with friends or clients.

Even though it was a Saturday morning (it was super packed) we still found a table to sit at and were able to enjoy everything. We were happy to see that tables and chairs are available inside the building's lobby courtyard, complete with fountain feature. The location was a little tricky since the intersection is busy and it can be hard to get in or out depending on what side you come from. Also, the train blocks the intersection as well so the wait to get in can be a bit. The store itself is quaint and clean with outdoor seating and ordering in both directions. The barista was kind and took our orders efficiently. The drinks came out within 6 minutes so were relatively fast. We ordered a caramel macchiato and a whole milk cappuccino. Both were so delicious, the espresso shots were made perfectly and flavoring was on point! We were so impressed we would drive all the way up north for another go in the future. Overall, great little steamboat coffee shop! Would definitely recommend as it lives up to they hype.
