What is better than stumbling upon a cafe dedicated to the gumption of historical women who paved the way for women's suffrage? On a peak-fall foliage drive through the finger lakes we pulled over to grab some coffee at the nearest spot. Had no idea we were walking into such a gem. We came to visit the women's rights national Park. That helped us understand the name of the Cafe. The food was off the charts good. Great flavors and good textures and excellent combinations in the breakfast burrito and the breakfast bowl. We really wanted to do it again after we were finished, but decided to wait a couple hours. My wife, two teenage sons, and I drove up to Seneca Falls for a daytrip and enjoyed a wonderful Saturday brunch at Cafe XIX before visiting the Women's Rights NHP museum. Lots of pluses. First, the cafe itself is clean, bright, and welcoming. It has a pleasant interior where you place and pay for your order and then received a numbered sign. Second, it has a large, free parking lot (associated with Generations Bancorp of NY) which is super-convenient for drivers. Third, the breakfast sandwich was delicious. My wife particularly enjoyed her omelette with fresh locally-grown tomatoes and avocado. Fourth, the regular brewed coffee here is phenomenal. Overall, I would strongly recommend Cafe XIX for Saturday brunch just before visiting the Women's Rights NHP museum. As an added bonus, you can walk across the street from the parking lot and see the Ripples of Change outdoor sculpture of four women, including Harriet Tubman and Sojourner Truth with a lovely background across the lake. read more

Stopped by Cafe XIX after a visit to the Women's Rights NHS in town for a quick bite to eat before heading over to Harriet Tubman NHS last Friday. I had the chicken Caesar wrap and my wife had the tuna melt. Both sandwiches were excellent and I would say that mine was the best wrap I've ever had. Ingredients were fresh and the portion was spot on. The cafe itself is filled with natural light and very clean. There is outdoor seating as well as indoor available. The folks at the counter were friendly and efficient - out sandwiches came out very quickly. I highly recommend Cafe XIX. If I lived in Seneca Falls, I would be there often. read more

Loved it so much we came twice in one day! Very cute cafe with lots of gluten free and vegetarian options. You order at the register, find a table and your food and drinks are brought to you. Cafe 19 is a cute setting in Seneca Falls and a nice little spot for breakfast or lunch. I opted for the veggie burrito. It was filled with a ton of veggies and potato heavy - and came with a side of guac. The inside could have used a sauce, or, salsa to combat the potatoes. We also got the grilled cheese panini with turkey. That was on the dry side - it wasn't served with any condiments or the bread wasn't buttered so, it was a bit lacking. Got the soup and sandwich combo and was disappointed to find out it didn't include a salad anymore. Soup was just warm. Also, a little on the pricey side for a small cup of soup, 1/2 of a small grilled cheese, and a bottled water. Just over $15., not including the tip. I miss the chicken salad w/cranberries & walnuts they used to serve. A long time ago it was curry flavor and it was awesome. Bring that back! Other than that, the service is excellent. I held the sriracha sauce, and I'm glad I did, because last time I ate this burger, I found it very spicy. This time, it wasn't spicy, so it must be the sriracha sauce that's spicy, not the burger itself. Enjoyed the crispy kettle chips that came on the side. Didn't order a pastry on this visit. This may be the only place to get a decent breakfast, with espresso and a pastry or more, so it gets busy. Service is friendly and informative. They do great big fruity smoothies, a breakfast quesadilla, fancy cookies, sandwiches etc. I enjoyed my quesadilla and smoothie, so much that I came back the next day for an Underground espresso drink, which has a hint of raspberry and is delightful. First time here, after visiting the Cayuga lake area for years. I was looking for a quick sandwich and a drink to go. There were two specials on the board for sandwiches, which looked very tasty, but I decided on the chicken salad with cranberry and walnuts on a ciabatta roll. The server told me that that was quite a popular choice. She was right, because this was the best chicken salad sandwich I have ever had at a restaurant. The chicken is very tender and full of flavor. The mixed greens added a nice touch. I ordered a lemonade to go, and they made it raspberry flavor. All lemonade drinks have refills. That was really a plus. I was half finished with my lemonade and they refilled it for me. The place is nice, chic, and clean. Plenty of coffee and tea drinks, breakfast items, too. What was even better was that they gave me my lunch in a biodegradable box, not a styrofoam box like so many places still use. We decided to try this café because it seemed to have potential. All we have to say is WOW!! This place is absolutely fantastic. We ended up coming here every morning during our stay. The café is a small establishment tucked into a non descript office park, but serves fantastic food at decent prices by a friendly and efficient staff. Our first visit, I just googled "seneca falls bakery" and Cafe 19 popped up. Well I'm so glad it did! Unfortunately we had already eaten breakfast, and were only looking for some treats to go, but the coffee and sandwich menu looked fantastic! We're an hour away but will definitely be back for lunch one day. We ended up with 5 treats to share for two people. A peach pop tart with brown sugar frosting. Best poptart I've ever had. I microwaved the leftovers 2 days later and it was still great. The chocolate swirly cupcake (looks like hostess) had a light creamy frosting underneath the top chocolate layer, it was so good. Peanut butter brownie was perfectly fudgey and dense, the pb frosting was light and whipped until fluffy. The Twix bar was a crumblier shortbread type of base, with thick almost chewy caramel topping that tasted so great. The chocolate peanut butter scone was the best scone I've ever had. I didn't eat it until 2 days later and it was kept in an air tight container. I'm not sure if that made it better or if it was fabulous on day one, but it was the softest scone I've ever had. Not like a muffin, like a scone but not dry like they usually are. The person who got our pastries and cashed us out was very friendly. My only suggestion would be a bigger sign maybe. The cafe is part of a larger building and we passed it without noticing. If I wasn't specifically looking for it, I would have never just stopped by. read more

This was our breakfast stop on our first full day in Seneca Falls. It's a short 5 minute bike ride from where we docked our houseboat. Awesome, friendly staff, and super tasty food and coffee drinks. Our kids loved the buttermilk pancakes, and my wife and I loved our omelettes and espresso drinks. The interior decor and beverage names celebrate the Women's Rights movement -- even the napkin dispensers have cool facts about leaders of the movement. We really liked this place. No big sign, so a little hard to find. Just look for the bronze statues across the street. Very clean and bright. Lots of regular clientele being greeted on a first name basis, so you know the food is good or they wouldn't be coming back. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Went on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30 and they were still serving breakfast. My wife got the avocado toast with an egg on top. Wow, was that good. You really need to try that if you go. The chocolate chip cookies were pretty tasty as well, as was the coffee. A little off the beaten path for us as we're from Rochester, but we'll definitely be back the next time we find ourselves near Seneca Falls. read more

This cafe is attached to a new local bank headquarters and they have recently opened and I am the first to share my new love in Seneca Falls, which is rare. For whatever reason food in this town is awful. Mostly fattening. SF is home to not many healthy options, which is why I said game changer. Today I arrived for my first ever visit and I cannot wait to go back, sit down and relax in the beautiful dining room. Today business was brisk and the cafe has the good fortune of built in business with the workers of the new bank headquarters. I ordered the soup of the day; seafood chowder with clams and shrimp. It was velvety and creamy with a delicate richness. It was BOMB delicious. I also ordered the Greek Tuna Flat bread. WOW. Albacore tuna with herbs and feta with lettuce and tomato, $7.65!!! While this perfectly prepared sandwich was not huge, it was perfect. I licked my plate. Not really. To be honest; I split this meal with my mother and it was the perfect lunch portion being I am on a diet and lost 12 pounds! The cafe is bright and open with floor to ceiling windows, bright green accents and beautiful stools, tables and chairs. Am I in Seneca Falls?? Wasn't sure what to expect when i found myself this far up the lake on one of the last days of my latest trips to the Finger Lakes. Reviews online really hyped the place up, so i was eager to get there. On the inside the design is fairly modern, with maybe a little artsy twist to it, which can be fine if done right. Went with a cup of soup and turkey / sweet potato hummus wrap. The soup was very good, but i was a bit disappointed by the wrap. Not much turkey, and overloaded with red onions and lettuce, made me wish i would have went with the soup / half sandwich combo. Also, i know the place is more of a coffee shop, but would have been nice to have been offered water. All in all, not a bad place to make a quick stop for coffee or a lunch special, but may be better as a takeout place than an eat-in. read more

A great place for take-out or sit down. The food is great and always an abundance delicious treat available. Very laid back and casual atmosphere, teas and coffee aplenty. I would recommend the breakfast burrito in the morning. The garlic infused, cilantro loaded salsa will really kick up the flavor. But your aftertaste will last all day, it's worth it.
