This place was raved about by so many people that I was convinced it would be amazing.... I was totally disappointed. My biggest complaint was their "wrap". A wrap should essentially be a burrito. Throw all the ingredients in a tortilla, roll it up tightly (tucking in the ends) and serve. Instead, they just took the ingredients of my bowl, put it in the tortilla and folded it in half (like a lazy quesadilla). I also thought the yum sauce was disgusting. Cafe Yumm is a great lunch for the money, and a cool concept over all. Definitely geared towards vegan and veggie customers which I am not, but the lady loves it so I'm here all the time. The meat here is never great but just another example of how they are veggie-centric. Maybe they purposely make their meat bland and dry to promote vegetarianism? I love the food, but it's chronically understaffed. As I write this, it's Wednesday at 6:00pm, there's a line literally out the door and they have 2 people working the counter. This has been my experience almost every time at this location and I'm hoping they realize soon that saving money on staff isn't worth overworking their employees like this. read more

Delish! Love the yum bowl and the chicken bento they have! The yum sauce is easily one of the weirder things I have ever tasted- but darn it was good. The tum bowl is a delightful mixture of vegetables and starches covered in yum sauce- making a mouth watering combination. read more

Good, quick, healthy food. Was briefly stranded in the neighborhood (waiting for check-in at a motel) and looking for a place to sit, get out of the cold, and eat something warm. First time here and I think it's pretty good for somewhat organic fast food. The YuMm sauce is out of this world. I've never had anything like it .. this is a chain in Oregon so we had to try it. I don't live in (or even near) Eugene so I don't frequent Cafe Yumm, but I like their bowls and my husband and I make a kickass version of them at home. In case you weren't aware, there are several knock-off recipes of the Yumm sauce on the internet, and the most accurate is the one that includes fenugreek. You are welcome. read more

Cafe Yumm is one of my favorite restaurants. Its quick and reliably yummy. I actually didn't like it my first time because the sauce seemed to be too much. Since then, I order the sauce on the side with added tofu. Perhaps an acquired taste because now I love it. Not quite fast food, Cafe Yumm is along the same lines as Noodles & Co. The people who work at this cafe Yumm are very nice and I love going here. Also I love Yumm Sauce and the Yumm bowls. But I have an issue with some of the reviews on here that are negative. The reality is not everyone will like Yumm Sauce everyone doesn't like everything but you don't need to leave a bad review just because something doesn't suit your tastes. This restaurant is clean, the employees are delightful, and if you like vegetarian food and more importantly nutritional yeast or what I like to call hippie cheese dust, you will love it. read more

Great food. Get the Tempeh Reuben. It's delicious. I just read a one-star review about how the person is allergic to garlic and onions and ordered salsa. WTF? Salsa usually has those ingredients in it so stop eating salsa if you're allergic to some of the main ingredients in it? Do you also ask if there is avocado in the guacamole? Or cheese on pizza? Cafe Yumm is amazing. The young staff can, at times, not be perfect. But the food is consistently amazing so anyone who has a minimal amount of patience can overlook the human factor here. Let me tell you guys a funny/sad tale. I once visited this specific Cafe Yumm location. I asked for my usual, large souper yumm bowl, jasmine rice, yumm sauce on the side, to go. I saw them throw the souper yumm bowl, and one tiny sauce in the bag. I asked for my 2nd sauce, one every single location has provided for the past 5 years in this wonderful town. I was informed that they no longer give 2 sauces with the large, and it is only 1 now, the same as the small or the medium. I pointed out the fact that you are providing the same amount of sauce on a small which is half the food. There was no ifs ands or buts, if I wanted the sauce, I had to pay. Of course they informed me of this wonderful screw-you-development after I paid. I was starving, I had to eat something, I should have given the middle finger and gotten my money back, but I didn't. I simply haven't eaten at a single Cafe Yumm since then (about 3-4 months). Used to eat there all the time. Then, out of hunger again, I hit another Cafe Yumm location. I asked about the sauces and they said of course they provide 2 with the large. I then went to another location, they also provided the sauces and looked at me funny when I asked. These idiots on Broadway think they can needle their long time customers for .03$ worth of sauce and do so with a straight face. I hope your franchise dies and your customers all abandon you. This was the same location where about a year ago I complained about clearly rotten Avocado, only to be told that's how a ripe Avocado looks, as if I'm an idiot who has never managed to open one myself. It was literally half black, rotten. Not the it's-been-sitting-out -for-a-while guacamole oxygenation, but the this-will-make-you-sick warning that mother nature provides. They then proceeded to cut open another avocado for me, whattya know, all green! How can you serve this food all day and say something so asinine and insulting to your customers? One of the male staff insisted on intruding into my personal space to "help" me when it was crowded and I preferred to wait. I clearly ignored him and chose not to speak to him twice, and he proceeded to call for my attention three times, fixating on me and clearly attempting to get my attention when I preferred to be ignored. I would call it harassment. Get a life and don't be obnoxious if you want business. There was no line, I wasn't confusing anyone or holding anyone up other than myself. There were two cashiers much closer to me. I'm not coming back, I can do without one more obnoxious and insecure person in my life. Learn to put the customer first, like they do in almost every other city I've ever been to, which recognizes people as individuals and not robots pretty much city-wide at every establishment. It doesn't take social skills at all to recognize that people have preferences about when and how they interact with other people. Eugene is such a sexist old-fashioned and mentally ill place to live, you see this inappropriate-type interference everywhere you go. It's not my job to make you feel at ease at your place of work by doing what you expect me to do. In fact, if it come down to these petty games I will avoid your business altogether. I don't know how you can go through your entire life completely oblivious to the needs of others. I wish I could just rate the sauce alone. While Cafe Yumm is quite good, of course. I really like their yumm bowls...BUT, their sauce is OUTSTANDING! I love to buy big containers of it and make my own version of yumm bowls at home. Seriously...there is no vegetable that is not improved greatly by yumm sauce. I love to sautee it with kale, add it to steamed broccoli, brush it on eggplant before baking...it is all so good! I have friends that demand that I bring it to them when I travel (and are willing to pay for me to check my baggage when I do so). So, 3 stars for the cafe and 5 VERY enthusiastic stars for the sauce. read more

In my experience, non-vegans will either love or hate Yumm sauce, but every vegan I've taken here LOVES the sauce. You can ask for a sample of the sauce if you're new-- do it! Because if you don't like the sauce, you'll probably really hate it and want it nowhere near your food. But don't despair! You can order any bowl without Yumm sauce, and they have other things that just come without it normally. Every location I've been to is clean and super friendly. read more

Even my cat likes Yumm Sauce. I think the staff is very friendly and memorized my name from about day one. I went out on a limb and tried the Edamame bowl which doesn't automatically come with Yumm Sauce, it comes with a ginger miso dressing (I think it was) but that was delicious. I think the wrap-its are the best thing though. They are much easier to eat than the regular wrap. read more
