Do NOT eat here! My friend ordered this place on DoorDash and I thought their tofu options were pretty innovative. However, next time, I went to the old mill location and there was a decent line to order inside. When it was about to be my turn to order, I see one of the safe members in the kitchen use there bare hand to wipe their nostrils and then proceeded to touch the food. Disgusting! I had to walk out due to their lack of cleanliness standards. Fast forward to me in need of a quick lunch a few weeks later. I decided to try a different location off of Neff road. BIG mistake! The person who took my order was nice and the food came out fast. I ordered the BBQ tofu skewer bento box and the coleslaw was just shredded lettuce that took up most of the plate. Welp. Don't order a TOGO if you plan on it being quick. This location doesn't have a "TOGO line". So you know that long line they're known for? Yep. You're standing in it. I ordered my TOGO order 15 min earlier than I needed it and not even during the lunch hour and I still waited 15 min in line...yea super fun When I finally got to the register the first thing the chick says to me, "So bad news. We're out of avocado". I'm vegan that's pretty much the only thing in my bowl. So I ask her why there isn't a TOGO line. Her response? "Our store isn't set up for one and we don't have the staff." Service, terrible. The person who took our order (whose name tag said "lead") barely acknowledged our presence and then when we asked some questions she was rude and annoyed. We had never eaten at a CY before so we asked if a specific dish was spicy and her response was "I don't like it." Uhhh??? That's confusing. Also, it's not like it was crowded, there was ONE other person there, but that's still not an excuse to be rude. The food was "meh" at best. One of my healthy go to places. Love their bowls. I usually get a small hot 'n' jazzy. But if I'm really hungry the yumm 'n' greens fills me up. I don't really know what the calories are in these but they use organic ingredients when possible so it feels like I'm doing something right. They also have a jalapeño salsa that is sooo delicious. Secret Asian man is a good salad option. And I have tried a few of their soups, comes with bread that is perfect for dipping. They are really fast for to go orders and the place is always clean. Cafe Yumm! is truly AMAZING! My husband and I have fallen completely in love with the food and on-tap beer options. The food is all fresh and it is completely obvious when it hits your mouth. I don't understand the love for this place. They put their Yumm sauce on just about everything... and it tastes like crap. It's a nasty sauce. People seem to love it for some reason, but it's terrible. In addition, they thrive on the 'feel-good' menu based around healthy choices and odd substitutions in the name of health. Most of what I've had is bland, mediocre food. It's not terrible, but it's just sub-par. Maybe if I didn't find the Yumm sauce so offensive they'd be good, since I'm getting rid of the overpowering taste of that in any dish I order, possibly leaving it bland without. I have been a fan of Cafe Yumm since I tried it a couple years back. The Yumm sauce has a place in my fridge! The hot and jazzy is my go to bowl. Love the choice of fresh toppings. I have ordered a couple different things but always come back to the hot and jazzy sometimes as a bowl sometimes on a bed of greens. This is a walk up order at counter healthy fast food place to me. Easy take out that is pretty healthy! Don't come here if you are looking for a nice dinner out or even a leisurely meal. The staff need to be aware of any allergens in the food they're serving. An event I attended was generously catered by Cafe Yumm. I asked if the Yumm Bowls contained tree nuts (because I'm allergic), and the worker there assured me the only allergen was dairy. Since their food contains a couple of the top 8 major food allergies, the workers better be damn well aware of what they're serving people. Someone could have died. Literally. They're lucky I didn't go into anaphylactic shock. The food was good though. I'd eat it again if I wasn't worried about potentially dying. read more

Cafe Yumm! is a regional chain started in Eugene...and it's the sort of thing that seems like it could ONLY be started in Eugene. The Bend location is in the Old Mill District. As of this review, there are 8 locations throughout Oregon (4 of them in Eugene). Think "West Coast Mexican-Japanese fusion" with more vegan options than normal, and you've got it. You can go for their "bowls" which are more or less burrito fixings in a bowl, or their more "traditional" entrees: a bento box, salmon or veggie burgers, or wraps. Vegetarian and vegan options are AMAZING here: everything is clearly marked on the menu with vegan options, and you can even get a vegan reuben sandwich! This place must have been started by a vegan. But don't let that turn you off - I went with one vegan (me) and three omnivores, and everyone enjoyed the heck out of it. The neat part of this place is that it doesn't fit into any neat categories. You've got meal options here that instantly seem like a good idea, but which you've never seen anywhere else. It would be more interesting if it were a hip little local hole-in-the-wall rather than a fairly corporate-looking chain in a brand new strip mall complex, but it's sort of inspiring to see a new and expanding chain with such innovative, healthy, and veg-friendly menu options. Cafe Yumm! was quite good. A customer of Kayo's Dinner House in Bend actually ran outside and recommended Cafe Yumm to us (but that is another story). We took her up on her recommendation and drove down to Cafe Yumm! I ordered the Edamame Yumm Bowl. The bowl contained organic brown rice, original Yumm! Sauce, green soybeans, and was topped with seaweed, cheddar cheese, diced tomato, fresh avocado slices, sour cream, and black olives. It was actually pretty tasty. There were all sorts of options at Cafe Yumm! which looked quite good. I also ordered one of their oatmeal raisin cookies dipped in dark chocolate, which was extremely good! My friends ordered the Yumm n Greens and the chicken skewers... and of course some chocolate chip cookies dipped in chocolate! They were all quite impressed. This is a chain. But, it's not in North Carolina. And, there are a lot of vegan options. So, during our Honeymoon in the Pacific NW, it seemed like a perfect fit for one of our meals out. I opted for the Secret Asian Man Salad with tofu. I was in need of a salad, and it definitely satisfied that need. My husband ordered the Tempeh Reuben, and it give it a big thumbs up. I do enjoy Cafe Yumm, their staff is always friendly and the food comes out fast and consistent. The Yumm sauce is good and you can buy it for home use @ about $15 a bottle :0 but I just have found myself frequenting Cafe Yumm less and less over the years. It just seems very overpriced for what it really is, rice, beans, sauce, and toppings. Not many people know this about my friend Jericho but he has a prosthetic leg. For what feels like forever, we talked about going to a restaurant, and when we see the prices, I'd say "man everything here costs and arm and a leg" and Jericho would unstrap his bionic and say "hey john, this one's on me." Located in the Mills Shopping area, Oregon, behind Black & White Market facing the river. My first time trying their brown rice edamame bowl with tomatoes, avocado, cheese & sour cream. I also ordered a peanut soup. They had 4 soups available to chose from as well as wraps and salads. I really enjoyed my bowl and soup. There is a lot of vegetarian options. We decided to try this place on our way through Oregon because it offered food for both omnivores and vegetarians alike. I ordered the original Yumm bowl and my husband had the same with chicken. We ordered a bowl of soup for our 4 year old. My husband could not eat his bowl. The "Yumm" sauce was totally unappetizing, and the chicken had clearly been sitting out for awhile. I agreed the sauce wasn't the best and definitely could see how it would ruin a meal. I was able to tolerate it. My son liked his soup, but the roll they served with it was ROCK hard. I stopped in here on the way back to SF post music festival at the suggestion of my roommate who went to UofO for college. We both had the edamame Yum bowls- and they were incredible! We visited Cafe Yum on a Monday afternoon. It was about 1PM and there was a long line. There was one person working the register. I saw several young workers standing in the food prep area just chatting with one another and not working. I felt badly for the one person taking orders. There was one other girl that was running food and hustling to get things done. It was frustrating to see so many people in line and so many employees just standing around. Our order came up wrong but we were in a hurry and just ate what we received and left feeling really disappointed in the food and service.
