This location is terrible. The last 2 times I've asked for no olives- only to get back to my desk to discover TONS of olives. Also this location has really skimpy portions. I normally go to the Oakway location and the sizes really vary. ( this is a complaint I know lots of people have with Yumm. Sometimes your bowl is half full- sometimes two thirds. Never go to the gateway street location; service is terrible and extremely unprofessional. A couple months ago, I went there to grab some lunch, and I ordered an original yumm bowl and asked them to sub in cabbage instead of rice because I'm on a low carbohydrate diet for health reasons; I had ordered this same exact thing many times before at other locations and never had a problem. Well, I asked them, like usual, to please sub cabbage instead of rice and the guy taking my order tells me no! I kind of give him an awkward smile at first because I thought he was joking, but he wasn't! So, I asked to please speak to the manager. Manager comes up and asks what he can do to help, so I ask "yeah I'm just wondering why I can't have cabbage instead of rice in my yumm bowl?" And he began telling me it's a "new policy" or some shit. "Sorry but it's just a new policy we have". I am still in shock because I know they have cabbage in their kitchen.... It's not like I'm trying to order sushi or something. So I just told him "ok well apparently I'm not ordering anything from you guys" and he didn't even blink an eye! So then I call other locations to do some investigating (I was and still am shocked about how absolutely no logic was being used that day) . I call other locations and ask them if there's a new policy about "no cabbage" lol, and all of the other locations stated no, there's no policy about that and they are sorry that I had his experience. All in all, the dudes working there that day didn't like me for idk what reason? But I'm extremely confused and needless to say, I will never go to that cafe yumm location ever again!!!!!! read more

Yumm. I love the original bowl, with a side of the jalapeno salsa. Very good. And very pleasant service.

I've heard nothing but good things about this place, which is why I had to give it a go as I was in the NW. I will have to say that personally, it didn't wow me. That's not to say that it wasn't good... but at the same time, it wasn't very satisfying to a red-meat-avore like me. If only they had a yummbowl with steak (make it lean, if you want it healthy!), it might have turned the tide. If I lived near a Cafe Yumm, I probably would visit it 1-2 times a month. But it's tough to keep on my list of "must-eat" places when I'm visiting. read more

Totally amazing food, but most of the time they don't get your order right unless it is just right off the menu. If you tweak anything, just double check before you leave. This location never has salt or forks! For the love of god, you're running a restaurant! They have ONE salt shaker that customers are vying for and today it's empty and I as told the entire restaurant is out of salt! RIDICULOUS!! Also invest in some forks, it's how most people eat! This is normally a great restaurant especially when you choose any of the yumm bowls. However, I ordered one of their soups, "Mama Leone's chicken soup" in a medium size to go...$5. When I took it home to eat, there was one teeny piece of chicken 1"X1/4" and less than an 1/8" thick....a scrap and that was it besides some tomato,onion and some flecks of kale or chard. When I mentioned this today when buying a gift card the clerk said, "We don't make the soup, you should have called us and we could have comped it." A disappointing reaction and answer. Today was my first day visiting this company and the service I got taking my order was great. I understand that this is a very fast-paced business, but the respect I did not receive from the woman handing out peoples orders was unbelievable. After 20 minutes waiting for a sandwich, Crystal finally noticed that I had a question. During my attempt trying to let her know my concern, She rudely interrupted me and said " yeah yeah, your name?!" Rolling her hand expressing that I needed to "hurry up" my name. I couldn't believe it. When she looked at my order, She laughed and was like " Yeah, It's gonna take a LOT longer." Not only do I have to service people all day as well, but if I talked with someone like this, I was get written up. same as the other Cafe Yumm. I love the Yumm Bowl (hot & jazzy) but it is always a little too small. For the price I feel like I should not have to go away still hungry. Chipotle for example charges a dollar less for their bowl and you get more than double the portion. Also there isn't much here other than that yumm bowl for me to eat. So I don't go there very often although I do like it. They do have Wi-Fi too which is a plus. Cookies are way too sweet. I like the coffee. Mostly I would just prefer to go to Chipotle. read more

If you like rice and beans, you almost have to love this place! Very quick service which is great when you are in a hurry or just want a quick lunch. I wasn't sure what to think about the Yumm sauce the first time I tried it. But it grew on me and now I almost always have a jar in my refrigerator at home. It is definitely it bit odd tasting and nothing else I can really compare to. But I've grown to love it! Black beans and rice have always been a staple of mine, so this restaurant is right up my alley! Lots of toppings are included in their various Yumm bowls or you can request them to be left off - tomatoes, salsa, avocado, olives, sour cream, shredded cheese and cilantro. Ordered a medium edamame bowl sans deluxe toppings, add carrots and crunchy noodles. After getting home, I found that I had been given all the deluxe toppings I had asked not to have. While digging those toppings out of the part of the bowl I wanted, I came across a hair. My boyfriend, who had ordered his bowl in a size large, was disappointed to find that his serving was the same size as mine (not large). Usually, I really dig the food I get here. I was very disappointed in the customer service today at cafe Yum. Both girls were very rude and when I asked for anything they acted like they didn't really want to help me. When I first walked in neither one of them were very friendly. The food overall was very good, my sons bowl didn't have very much yum sauce so I asked for a little more and she said it costs money. She seemed irritated that she had to give me more, when they didn't put enough on in the beginning. I have never had such bad customer service here before. I understand people have bad days, but you got to put on a good face and be nice to people and do your job. The girls name was Morna she had dark brown hair with two braids. Also the blonde short haired girl was also very rude. I just want the managers to know how their employees are treating their customers. Worst customer service ever.... i was so happy to come here for dinner after work and get my favorite yumm bowl original deluxe bowl with chicken, with lettuce on the bottom instead of rice! I get it all the time at green acres. I asked for my meal and the cashier had to ask if substituting lettuce was ok? Which the women promptly stormed in and said thats not allowed, we are not supposed to do that. I exclaimed oh? The other cafe yumm does it all the time for me? She sternly says well there not supposed to, none of our restaurants are suppose too....its against the rules...A little shocked i said ok i guess ill have rice. When visiting family in Oregon, everyone had great things to say about Cafe Yumm, holding it over my head even that they have this chain in their state and I do not. After finally eating at Cafe Yumm, I am in no greater hurry to pack my bags. The famed 'Yumm bowl' tasted fine, but was little more than a glorified bean and rice bowl and left me unsatisfied. I did not like that the fancy toppings were standard, and would have preferred to forego them in favor of a lower price. A tip, however, if you ask for the bowl to be made 'vegan' you can receive in place of the sour cream and cheese some veggies or extra avocado. read more

Okay here is the deal with cafe yumm and particularly this location. Their food is way good and totally reasonably priced. However, they seem to have an issue getting orders right. I've had this location biff up my order probably 4 times. And we aren't talking complicated orders. Just simple menu items ordered as advertised. No extras or special requests. It's disappointing to get home and go to eat only to find you didn't get what you ordered. On this particular visit I ordered a southwest chicken wrap and it was made correctly but I was more than able to pick it up and eat it without a knife and fork as they advertise it. Was small and disappointing and I'm still hungry. Just an overall lame experience. Think I might be done with this location after this one. read more

Wow! What a great place to eat, I went in this last Thursday during lunch and the service was great, my cashier Kali V. was incredibly cheery, and very friendly, she really seemed to know what she was doing. I absolutely love this location, and it's mainly due to the kind service that I encounter when visiting. I usually come in several times for lunch/dinner considering I work down the street, and every time I come in the service is great, and the food is awesome, shout out to the lovely gals Kali V. and Crystal R. who always manages to put a smile on my face when I come in!!! read more

The food is wonderful and I love the Yumm sauce. What was dissatistfying was the customer service. My daughter wanted to have her 16th birthday dinner there (even though I wanted to go to a nicer restaurant to celebrate), We had only been here one other time just recently. I asked the employee if they did anything for birthdays and she said she would check. I even asked a second time as a reminder and was still told she would check. I never did get a response. Even if they didn't offer anything a response would have been nice. Also, my dad is diabetic and needs insulin before meals. After ordering I asked if they had a carb counter and she said yes and that is was all online. That didn't help much since we didn't have a computer or cell phone with online access. Anyway, I felt that we were more of a nuisance to the employees and did not feel very welcome.
