We've been meaning to try this place and we're glad we did! This is a coffee shop owned by the famous Rosine's owners. But if you're expecting a mini Rosine's or a lot of the same menu items from their restaurant, you won't find that here. But it still has the same 'Rosine's touch' as their downtown restaurant. What is the Rosine's touch? Attention to service. Downtown, any server will stop to handle requests and the servers provide a welcoming environment. At Caffe by Rosine's in Sand City, you order at the counter but they have a server (or busser?) at the door watching for anything a customer might need. Being in a wheelchair, that extra touch was appreciated. My mom had the breakfast sandwich, which came out piping hot and she said the orange juice was good. I had the veggie sandwich, I don't know what it's called on the menu but the bread was soft and fresh. I loved the cookie butter latte. They do coffee like a serious coffee spot! I'll be back to try some other variations. We had cake to go and we'll be back soon and often. Every seat was filled when we left at 2 pm so it's a popular place. Good food, great drinks but the friendly staff is the icing on the cake. read more

Visited on a a Tuesday. Staff was very friendly and welcoming and the space looked fairly clean. We got a cookies and cream brownie. It was more of a cake than a brownie. It was a bit on the sweet side but good nonetheless. We also ordered the hazelnut cold brew. Again, it was overly sweet but drinkable. Definitely a dessert coffee than an actual coffee. The disappointing part of the meal was the food. The breakfast sand which was just a basic sandwich that did not feel worth the price. Microwaved egg, basic bacon basic bread. The California Chicken Sandwich was the most disappointing. It felt like they took a piece of boiled chicken breast and then grilled it. It was dry, stringy and bland. I would return to try some of the cakes but would not pay again for any of the food items. read more

TERRIFIC SERVICE BOTH TIMES I CAME! I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door, given a menu, asked many times by workers if I needed any help. Friendly workers, great hospitality, and FRESH food! I was served a hot flatbread, burrito, and the cake was very fresh! The coffee was extremely flavorful and my top favorite in the area now! This cafe is very clean, has a lot of options on their menu, yet, they serve it all top tier! I really recommend everyone gives this place a try, there is an item for everyone! I had been seeing this place on social media a lot, so I wanted to try it out for myself. We tried their chocolate banana cloud, savory brunch croissant, and their Italian sub. Everything was really good. I would definitely go back to try more. There is some indoor outdoor seating available. When we went, it was pretty busy, we got lucky and found a table. You are handed a menu when you walk in, and order at the counter. You pick up when ready, and someone cleans your table when you are done. There is plenty of parking available as well. read more

We planned to grab breakfast but the Caffe was so packed that we grabbed a chocolate banana latte and a strawberry matcha to go instead. By the time we left the line was to the door. Both drinks were absolutely delicious and we plan on coming back soon! The credit card machine was down, they were short staffed for the rush, and the place was packed, but it was still a decent experience. They just opened and are still figuring things out. Greeted with such a great smile today when I walked in. They are very upbeat and do an amazing job. They memorize all their specials and which one is " trending " right now. My teenage daughters wanted to give this spot a try and it was a very good choice. My ice coffee was great and didn't taste too bitter. Nice cafe look wise. I ordered a latte and a California club sandwich. This review is specifically for the sandwich, as it was one of the worst things I've spent $13 dollars on. I think I would have been okay with the quality of it for $5... it's all edible, but the lettuce and bottom breads are so soggy and it just feels like the sandwich was not fresh. Avocado was a nasty brown, sad I didn't realize this before opening the container.. Likely the last time I come here for any food. Maybe for a pastry or cake but never for a sandwich again. Walking into this cute cafe; I did not have any idea how good it was going to be ! We grabbed a pre made club sandwich and for it to be a grab and go meal; it was honestly done so right !! I was really disappointed with my recent experience at Rosine's Cafe. I purchased the to-go quart of clam chowder, and unfortunately it fell far short of what I expected. Instead of being rich and creamy like a good clam chowder should be, it was very watery, almost as if it had been diluted. It was also so heavily seasoned that the spices completely overpowered the flavor of the chowder. Living in Monterey, we're fortunate to have some incredible clam chowder especially on the Wharf, so I know what a good bowl of chowder should taste and feel like. This simply wasn't it. I purchased it a couple of days ago and decided to call the restaurant to see if they could offer a refund or even a small courtesy replacement. I'm a regular customer who stops by 3-4 times a week for coffee, pastries, and breakfast, so I hoped they would be willing to make it right. Instead, I was simply told there was nothing they could do. Mistakes happen, and not every menu item will be a hit, but what was most disappointing was the lack of customer service. I went in this morning to buy a small Vanilla cold brew. I added a shot of vanilla and vanilla cold foam. I paid $7.93 for a coffee that was mostly ice, there was no vanilla flavor in my ice coffee by the way that's a $1.00 extra. Never again will I go there. I went a few months back for regular coffee and cake it was nothing special. I've gonna to the original restaurant in downtown Monterey for 30 years on and off there Eggs Benedict which is still delicious. It seems like it's not the same anymore because the original owners retired and unfortunately their mom is no longer here that's expected. I can't afford to pay what they charge if the customer gets something else other than what they paid for. There's other bakeries in downtown that are delicious. I'm excited that Caffe by Rosine's opened in Sand City -- it's such a great addition to the area, and I love that we have more local cafés popping up. It's convenient, the space is cute, and I'm all for anything that brings more variety to our coffee/quick-bite options. I recently tried the Chili Egg Puff Roll-Up ($10). Flavor-wise, it was actually really good -- the baked eggs, green chilis, jalapeños, and spicy crema have great potential (just like the menu describes). But presentation-wise, it fell a little short for me, especially given the price. I think with just a few tweaks -- like adding more spicy crema on top, a small garnish, or even a simple side -- it would feel more complete and worth the price point. One positive: it does come with two roll-ups, which is nice -- but I think it would help to actually note that on the menu so customers know what they're getting for the price. Even though this dish didn't totally wow me visually, I still think the café has a lot of potential. I'm definitely planning to come back and try more of the menu. Definitely keep coming for the coffee. It's a nice new local spot, and I want to see how they grow from here. read more

Checked out the new Caffe by Rosine's spot in Sand City! It's in the old Starbucks location next to Target, and it's such a cute setup. The staff were super friendly, the place was spotless, and they've got plenty of outdoor seating. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The babe got a breakfast burrito and an iced mocha, and I went with the stacked morning biscuit and the chocolate banana cloud drink. The biscuit was soft, buttery perfection, and that drink... absolutely amazing! They also have a ton of grab-and-go options like sandwiches, lasagna, soups, and more. And of course, we couldn't leave without grabbing a slice of cake to go! Such a great spot -- definitely worth checking out! read more

I've been coming here since they have opened! I go every couple of days and every time I met with a hello and very kind workers! One time they let me order when they were about to close and one time they remade my drink after I had slipped in the rain... I always get a cookie butter latte it's so rich and sweet and so worth it. Occasionally I get a slice of their very moist and rich cakes and it never fails to reach my expectations! Tried Caffè by Rosine's this weekend and had high expectations bc of the reviews i've seen! After my visit it might be hyped up a bit due to social media. The service was GREAT. The oreo cheesecake was delicious. The drinks were okay and too sweet, they do look pretty though. The breakfast sandwiches do not come with any sides which is a bummer and the portions are very small. The to-go case looked loaded with so many salad options, I think you're better off grabbing something from there instead of the menu! I would go back for dessert and maybe give Rosine's on alvarado a visit!! read more

I stopped here on my way to remote work in Carmel for the day. It was my first visit since their opening. What a great experience! The place was clean, the employees were courteous, friendly, and welcoming. Did I mention, the place looked clean and modern and new!! I stopped by Caffè by Rosine's on my way to do Christmas shopping in Sand City. I asked the staff member what she would suggest, she offered a variety of suggestions based off of her own opinion and what she saw ordered often. She has a great aura and I feel like a lot of knowledge on what great customer service is so I took her suggestion to get the Breakfast Sandwich which is Eggs, Bacon, Swiss and Cheddar Cheese on a brioche bun that is topped with Mayo. I opted out of the mayo due to personal taste, and the sandwich was delicious. I also asked about desserts. I was looking at the cookies and the staff member suggested a donut which is from Red's Donuts. Of course, the donut did not disappoint either. I'd love to say the staff member has impeccable taste as the Breakfast Sandwich was a dream in brown wrapping and the donut was a perfect dessert to start my morning. I felt more than welcomed to sit down and eat with unique Christmas Music playing in the background. I've never been disappointed at Rosine's in Monterey and I don't anticipate being disappointed at Caffè by Rosine's either. Always superb service and food. I'll be coming back. read more
