My cousin brought us here during a visit, and it was a great choice. The location is beautiful, with amazing views and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the scenery. We came on a Friday during a holiday weekend, so it was pretty busy. Luckily, we happened to arrive at the right time and were able to grab a table that was just being cleared. The food was good, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I ordered the Green Goddess Shrimp Roll, which had a generous amount of shrimp, plenty of flavor, and a fresh, soft roll. The rest of our group ordered the Bay King and Veggie Frittata, and both were enjoyed as well. The Bloody Mary was a highlight for me--loaded with toppings and one of the better ones I've had in a while! Service was decent. Nothing that really stood out, but overall we had a nice experience. The decorations are airy and inviting and the view, divine. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. We came in on a Thursday afternoon around 2PM. There were only 2 other tables with customers finishing their meals. We were seated and waited 10 minutes before we were acknowledged or even offered water. We thought they forgot about us, several times through our meal. There were 2 employees folding napkins and others walking in and out of the room, but we remained invisible. We ordered a sandwich and a salad. They were good but not worth the lack of service we received despite so many employees present. We felt unimpressed by the experience as everyone was obviously more concerned with prepping for one of their first days with an extended schedule into the afternoon/evening. We were so excited about this location being reopened, but we have too many favorite places to eat in town to give our time and money to a place that made us feel like a burden. read more

What a cute spot! After driving 2.5 hrs for our getaway, we arrived at Lovers Point for brunch. We entered on the side of the bar which was beautiful. The inside of Crema feels way more spacious and bright on the inside. I was told they also have an expanded back room. There's a good sized dining area with huge windows overlooking the park across the street and ocean. They have plenty of seating outside too including lounge chairs.You walk down a short corridor to get to the bathrooms (there's a water dispenser for one's water bottle which is nice! [maybe for staff though? Lol]). I got a whole big table to myself and one big plus about this place is it's so dog friendly!! My boys and I got a water bowl and plenty of loving attention. I tried the butterfly lemonade. It's purple! My favorite color. Thank goodness not too sweet. But you can sweeten it with a rock candy wand. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Plate. It was delicious and they give you a big helping of herbed cream cheese. There's a side of salad. The salmon is fresh and complemented with the appropriate amount of capers and pickled onions. I also tried the tomato and lentil soup. It comes out nice and hot. They give you such a generous amount and it's a rich texture that is just thick enough. Overall everything tasted really fresh. Service was prompt and attentive. All in all such a great location for refreshing bites and drinks! Great spot to relax and take a break. read more

A Friday morning visit around 8am The view here is really nice and I loved the vibe with all the plants--it's a cool. It did get pretty loud pretty quickly once more people started coming in, though. The menu is simple and easy to look through. Drinks: I ordered an orange juice and didn't realize it was sparkling--not really what I was expecting, especially for $8. I also got the Nightshift brewed coffee, which was just okay. It's supposed to come with free refills, but our server never came back after taking our order, so that didn't end up happening. $7 for the coffee. Food: Both dishes were $15 each. The veggie frita was just alright (2/5). It had good chunks of potato, spinach, and egg, and I liked that I could swap the salad for fruit. But it was pretty burnt on the top and bottom, missing peppers, and overall just kind of bland. The chili verde burrito was also a 2/5. It was a good size with big chunks of meat and plenty of eggs, but it really lacked flavor and spice. It tasted a little better after adding salsa and hot sauce. Service: There were a lot of staff walking around, but not many actually checking in. Our server took our order and didn't come back--I had to ask someone else just to get the check. Experience with our server could have been more positive and inviting to encourage us to come back. Received no thank you for coming or notification that we left. Overall: We'll probably stick with our usual breakfast spots for now. Maybe it'll improve once they get their liquor license. read more

Rounding up from 3.5 stars. This is a place I'd love to love, but service issues and inconsistency still need to be ironed out. I've had the huevos rancheros burrito twice now. The first time, I thought it was perhaps the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. More recently, it was lacking in both texture and flavor (even once I added some of their delicious salsa). The inclusion of chopped tater tots is a nice idea, but if they're soggy, it changes the whole nature of the dish. Note that the burritos can be a bit messy, so it would be helpful if they were served with napkins and silverware. Not everything is "finger food," and picking up chunks of scrambled eggs with one's hands isn't for everyone. I really enjoyed the iced blueberry matcha tea drink on my first visit. The "butterfly" lemonade on my second trip was visually appealing, but didn't "wow" me. Same goes for the chocolate chip walnut oatmeal cookie--good, but not really memorable. Just tried the newly renovated Crema in PG where the Seltzer, Tinnery and Latitudes place used to be, and wow... this spot is going to be a great brunch place. They don't take reservations right now, it's walk-in only. They tell you to seat yourself, but someone also helped seat us, so I'm still a little confused on the process. Of course it's their soft opening phase so totally understandable that they are trying to wrinkle out their kinks. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside -- super bright and well lit, and on a clear sunny day the view overlooking Lovers Point is honestly amazing. They also have a ton of seating, including long tables. We ordered the Burrito Ranchero with chorizo, the Monte Crema, a plain waffle with bacon, and the cinnamon roll. Portions are BIG. I couldn't even finish half the burrito. It was packed full and cooked really well. The Monte Crema was probably my favorite. The cheese was perfectly melted and the bread tasted almost French toast-like because the bread was dipped in an egg batter before cooking. So good. You get a choice between cold pasta salad or jalapeño chips, and we went with the pasta salad. Honestly the sandwich was flavorful enough that you didn't even need the side jam... but I dipped my bacon into it and accidentally created candied bacon. And the cinnamon roll... MASSIVE. Super caramelized with walnuts on top and soft in the middle. Their menu mentioned this is still a "soft opening" menu because they wanted to get operational ASAP, but honestly I already loved what they're offering and can't wait to see what else they add later on. My only small caveat was the suggested tip options on the receipt were 20%-30%, which felt a little extra to me. I totally understand times are hard and restaurant staff work incredibly hard, but 30% as a suggested tip caught me off guard a bit. Other than that, I'm really excited to see how this place grows. I can already tell it's going to be packed for weekend brunches, especially with that view. read more

Menu is limited but curated with more savory and salad options available after 11am. It was perfect for a leisurely coffee and sandwich while enjoying a view of the water's edge. What I've had: The lemon cream scone. I could have one every morning if I could afford the calories. Sadly, I only have one once a week but they are made in heaven. Warning: they often sell out. The lemonade--pricey but the kind server gave me a refill. Suggestion--maybe offer refills for $1.00 or $2.00? The salmon plate--just ok, it had too much cream cheese for me but that's a personal preference. The BLT, fabulous! I love baker's bacon and the server allowed me to substitute the bread for a ciabatta roll. Chicken curry salad. Fabulous, you have to like curry, if you do you will love this. A cookie with oatmeal and chocolate chips. Can't remember its exact name but it was sublime. What I hope for in the future is a more varied menu at breakfast. Maybe omelettes in the future? Maybe a Happy hour menu at some point? Calamari? And maybe it's a staffing issue but it would be great if there were Sunday hours even if it was only the first Sunday of the month. The view is incomparable and there's plenty of parking, at least when I've been there. There are so many seating choices and you aren't rushed. A friend and I sat and visited for a couple of hours. We asked the server to let us know if they needed the table and he not only assured us we were fine but occasionally asked if we wanted more water even though we'd already closed the check. read more

The avocado toast was really good, but the matcha didn't taste like blueberry at all, and at $9 it felt pretty overpriced for what it was. They do have pebble ice though, which is my favorite kind of ice. The staff was nice, but since it's a new place, I wish there had been someone at the door directing traffic. No one really seemed to know where to go or which line to stand in for dining in versus takeout. As a local my first time here and I love it. The setting is so inviting and full of life. You can tell they put a lot of thought and care into everything. Had an oat milk latte and lemon scone... both sooooo good. Scone was surprisingly buttery and great texture. I sat near the bar but there's lots of different places to sit inside and out. They even offer table service.. I ordered at the counter. On a Saturday around noon was about a 10 min wait. Staff was friendly and helpful. Look forward to coming back again soon! read more

The cashier said the food would be placed on the table , and pointed at the table. The wait was not long but when i looked in the bag, there was only the food. Crema is cafeteria food, sandwiches with chips, salads and the breakfast items end by 11am. This restaurant could use a bit more effort on their menu. They recently opened, which makes sense why it's not so great. However, not a really good first impression for food. The coffee was not good, it was watered down with way too much ice halfway! This place is a little silly. The menu is weak and they dont offer breakfast really. It is definitely more of a big cafe rather than a restaurant. Walked up to the host, i guess, and she asked if we were dinning in. We said yes, for two people. She took my name and then walked into the dinning room. We did not see her again for maybe 10 minutes. I peaked in the dinning room to ask if we should wait or if she wanted to take my number down, but never saw her again. We decided to wait in the coffee line to get a pastry and coffee while waiting for anything really, but the line barely moved the entire time standing in the doorway. Seems like a lot of staff running around doing not much. We left because they are definitely not ready for crowds. Maybe i'd try again in the future when they get their groove. read more

I remember going to crema when they were in PG and went again with a friend and it has definitely gone downhill. The prices are tourist level ($10 for coffee and condensed milk) and we waited for an hour for our food which was lackluster. Also the menu was maybe 5-6 items at any given time; there is a specific before/after 11am menu item cutoff. I'm honestly blown away...by the sheer lack of basic customer service skills and that this used to be the same restaurant I had brunch at constantly and LOVED. The aesthetic that was achieved in the new location is quickly forgotten once you've stood in the entryway for twenty minutes without one of the 15 employees waltzing around you engaging or making eye contact. The place is chaotically ran while employees appear busy and absolutely miserable all while ignoring their customers. The food was to be frank, the biggest waste of money, and not worth 30 minutes of waiting only to receive a cold waffle and an entire loaf of focaccia with avocado spread across it in a lovely presentation but overall a trash dish because who needs to eat an entire loaf of bread with half an avocado?!?! I'm heartbroken. What used to be a locals haven is now a tourist trap from hell. Don't bother; the locals rumor mill was accurate!! An absolute fail of a relaunch. As a waitress and bartender of 17 years I don't think I've ever even sent a dish back or complained in an establishment but this experience was so terrible I had to spare others. Someone please manage this place, the situation is DIRE. Reply to Owner: NO I waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged and then sat at a giant table in the restaurant for 8 which I felt awkward as I was alone and apologized for taking up a huge table and asked to eat over by the bar in case a larger group were to arrive, sat there for awhile, then realised no service was coming, ordered, tipped generously 40% and smiled and said thank you then waited ages for my cold food that arrived in boxes after it was apparent I had been there for sit down brunch service. I spent every Saturday for years at your last location, loved every visit, adored the food, always tipped the same waitresses I had well. This was not a bad day. I have multiple regulars at my bar who've warned me of these same issues but I chanced it today dying to return to your business. This was not a fluke and not a bad day. This is BAD customer service and lack of attention to detail. Texts from other locals all agree in unison. This is not a grudge. This is a local who used to be one of your biggest fans. Crema is genuinely a cafeteria masquerading as a restaurant. It's okay to be a cafeteria, just market yourself as such and customers will understand what they are in for. Imagine going to a restaurant and ordering sandwiches with bagged chips. No burgers, no fries. I don't think they have a deep fryer, check the menu and pictures yourself. It would be fine if the food was decent, sadly it is not. Everyone understands a few wrinkles need to be ironed out when first opening, but this feels like a deliberate choice. I've been there a few times now since they opened since it's a nice way to start my day with beautiful views and great spot to lounge while I drink my coffee. This is a long time area business in a newly remodeled facility that is moving quickly to bring a bigger menu and more features, such as their famous Bloody Mary's as soon as the paperwork is done. I had the Chili Verde Breakfast burrito, of which I brought half home due to its large size. The pork and sausage were delicious with just the right balance of potato and egg. The homemade salsa they serve on the side had just the right level of heat to kick the verde sauce (mild) into a new gear. The seating, while not in a large room, was set up to accommodate large and small groups and there is plenty of outdoor patio options. The servers and staff were friendly and attentive, and the service prompt. The location is beautiful, the coffee delicious and I can't wait to go back to try new items. read more
