I love that there's a local ma and pop shop in my neighborhood that I can support! The drinks have never disappointed and I feel the prices are fair. I love the cozy atmosphere and trinkets all around the shop. All that being said it can be hard to support this shop with their hours, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. as it is basically office hours. This morning I went out of my way to grab a drink and the shop was left unstaffed... leaving customers wondering and waiting how long it would be until they can order. This is a cute, independently-owned coffee shop which lends itself to a cute little charm that chain coffee shops lack! It has a very cozy and quiet atmosphere, almost as if you entered your grandma's living room. There's a lot of unique elements to this cafe, from the colorful, burlap coffee bags on the ceiling to the bits and bobs sold inside it. The furniture is just as eclectic and different, which gives this cafe some personality. The staff here are pretty friendly. I had a young, Asian American man as my barista and he was polite and professional. I also love that there's a water dispenser as well. Prices are average for the area. The menu is very diverse, and in addition to regular hot teas and coffees, apparently they serve boba as well. Only con is that they don't have stoppers for your coffee like Starbucks does, so it makes transporting hot cups of coffee more difficult. read more

Stood waiting for a few minutes before being acknowledged by staff. When I ordered I waited another 10 minutes before my drink and food was even begun being made because she was busy talking to a friend... there was no one else in the cafe. I don't mind waiting just thought it was pretty rude. My chai tea latte was a Cup of iced milk and my bagel was old, hard, thawed shriveled bagel which I had to throw out. I love this cozy mom n pop coffee chop i have had the taro latte on multiple occasions and its been so so yummy every time. I have also had a bagel and lox as well as an egg salad sandwich which were both great i always feel very comfortable and welcomed there. I usually pass by on the way to work(although trying to limit excess spending so i dont get to go as often as id like) for a drink and a bite to eat if i didnt have time to make something at home. Came here on a weekday morning for breakfast. Always wanted to try this place out for the crepes. Ended up getting crepes, egg bagel and a chai latte. The chai latte was very aromatic and had great flavors. The crepe was alright. I did not care for the chocolate syrup drizzled on top of it. I would have preferred Nutella. The bagel with egg would have come in a sandwich but i asked for mine separate. The egg was nothing to die for...i think it may have just been microwaved but I'm not sure. and the cheese was your generic kraft cheese which i didn't care for. The place inside is very nice and quaint...reminds me of a grandma's house or antique shop. its quite and they have wifi if you want to do some work. The staff is very friendly. Seemed like there was only one lady working there that morning who took care of everything. she engaged in nice discussion with us for a little bit and was friendly. Cute little shop in Newbury Park. This plaza also has CVS and Smart & Final. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was 90% packed so the service was pretty slow. I ordered a latte with soy milk and it came out to be $6?! Hmmmm It tasted whatever, probably not worth it. They serve boba here! I saw a lot of kids order slushy with boba. Nice little family owned cafe in Thousand Oaks. The decor feels like you're in an antiques shop with the paintings and tea sets that are also for sale. I ordered a cappuccino and a lox and cream cheese bagel. The bagel was good, if a bit pricey; can't go wrong with lox, cream cheese, and a healthy dose of onions. They have crepes, which I wanted to try as well, but I chose the bagel instead. All in all, this is a nice place to relax, have a coffee, and enjoy the day. read more

Stopped in for a latte and bagel on a Friday morning. Immediate good vibe upon entering. Warm and earnest greeting from the sole staff member on duty. Helpful answers to questions about the menu. Fair prices. Variety of seating options with large and small tables, as well as sofas. Outdoor seating that would have been the first choice if the temperature were higher. Variety of interesting items on display and for sale. Tasteful jazz playing not too loudly, possibly John Coltrane. Medium size latte arrived in an enormous mug. Bagel was toasted just right. This quaint coffee shop has almond milk (yee-haw!) and wi-fi. As you can tell by the photos, the interior decor is absurd. And by absurd I mean really really ridiculously good-looking. Looks more like an antique shop than a cafe, which floats my boat just fine. Luckily the shop cleared out as I was taking a seat, so I stood around for a few minutes shamelessly taking Instagram photos of the whole goshdarn place. Every nook and cranny is filled with treasures, so go on and take a gander before sitting down. The tables are pretty scattered throughout the shop so it doesn't feel crowded, which I personally enjoy; I like me some elbow room. Ordered the Chai latte with almond milk. Asked for it to be lightly sweetened and I can't imagine how it usually tastes since said latte was still REALLY sweet. But it was a good drink--nothing exceptional. A chai tea latte is a chai tea latte. The only problem I had with it was the price, but I knew what I was getting myself into in the first place. Don't we all? Such suckers we are hawhaw. Love stopping here for lunch because the ambience is nice and quiet with soothing music and couches, everything is made to order and usually only one person mans the business so keep that in mind if your looking for snappy service while it's busy. I'm just rating the coffee. I ordered up medium cup of house blend brewed coffee. It was absolutely horrible. Here's what was wrong, No aroma, bitter, weak and served tepid. I can't imagine a worse cup. What caused it? Most likely they are brewing a weak cup, which creates a bitter, bland, tasteless drinkable cardboard. They oprobably leave it in the pot to long, which explains it lack opf aroma and temperature. This place shouldn't even call it self a coffee shop. Seriously, Denny's makes better coffee. The beans also taste muddy, which is usually a clue that they are using either very bad Arabica beans, or more likely crappy Robusta. If there ever was a coffee-lovers coffee shop, this is definitely not it. Note: I'm NOT ranking their espresso or other handcrafted drinks because I didn't have one. Finally went here after seeing this place mamy times. Im glad i went because everything here was great from servuce to my food. I walked on an early lunch and was greeted by a nice lady! I've been coming here for years. I don't come here for the coffee, but rather the lunch menu. My favorite is the tuna salad salad. I've also ordered both the shredded salad and the chopped salad. Their soups are made fresh daily and always tasty. It's a quaint little place and the decor is lovely. My company uses Caffe Aroma to cater in for meetings and Cecilia makes a lovely presentation of quartered sandwiches, salads, and fresh fruit. Her desert menu is fan-tas-tic and she makes this chocolate cheesecake squares that are TO DIE FOR! I always feel guilty eating those squares, but that's the test of a delicious desert, now isn't it? :)) I highly recommend coming here for lunch sometime. I'm only commenting on two things: 1) cappuccino: The barista did not know what a traditional cap was when I ordered it. The drink itself was pretty standard for a push button espresso machine. 2) banana bread: was wet on the outside of the packaging and the staff member informed me they freeze their products the night before then defrost them the next day. First I'd heard of this process but definitely a turn off to pick up a wet banana bread. Overall, this is a decent joint but not a higher quality coffee shop if that's what you're looking for. I've been coming here since I was in high school, and now 6 years later, it's still one of my favorite places in Thousand Oaks (and within a 20 mile radius) to get a blended matcha green tea boba. The service is really great here. There's a lot of regulars who come to this place and that shows that the owner really takes care of her customers. My friend also told them the ice coffee was too bland and they gave her a whole cup of coffee! They are very generous and strive to satisfy each customer. Cafe Aroma is tucked away in the corner of the Smart and Final / CVS shopping center. It's a small independent coffee shop and has a really cozy feel inside. The chairs and couches make you feel right at home as if you were in someone's living room. I really dig this. It's a great place to grab a drink (non-alcoholic) and hang out and chat. I'll be honest, I'm not too big of a coffee person so when it comes to the actual drinks, I thought they were good but my family seems to really like this place. This is the best coffee place in the area. This is a great place to go! The atmosphere is very inviting. The avocado toast was the best! It was very fresh and delicious. I got the Americano and a egg and cheese bagel sandwich. The coffee was excellent, very hot and great flavor. It was served in a cute mug with a little saucer and spoon underneath; so quaint! The egg and cheese was yummy with tobasco (I like a little heat), and was served on a pretty plate with a folded napkin! Holy moly, this place is baaad. I get there, with a day-after-thanksgiving-hangover, and had to wait 10 minutes to order. Not because of a line or anything, I couldn't tell you why. So, we order, and sit outside. Commence another long wait. Our coffee order comes out after about 15 minutes, and it's nasty. Worst "cappuccino" I've ever had (latte milk proportion, no foam). Taste of coffee itself is just gross. Food came out next, I had the #2, bagel, eggs, cheese and bacon. Bacon was weird and gritty. Not worth the half hour wait (I'd hate to see the wait on a busy day!). My wife got the #4, bagel, eggs, cream cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and onion. It was served with everything separate, just a pile of produce and a single-serve cream cheese. It would've been much cheaper and faster to go to a nearby grocery store. I ate the sandwich since my food need was so bad, but dumped the coffee out and went to the nearby national chain for their consistent mediocrity. I had to get the figurative and literal bad taste out of my mouth. Departing, I felt like a real chump and couldn't figure out how this place is rated so well. read more

We had just moved into town and our house was a construction zone, so I needed someplace to hole-up and get some work done. Perfect spot for this. Their house drip coffee is awesome and they make a great cappuccino. I also tried a great bagel with fresh vegetables on the side... a very nice touch and a tasty lunch plate. I've been frequenting this place almost every weekday for 3 weeks now... it's a mainstay now, especially because everyone seems to come through here.
