Classico Panini - Sliced chicken breast, salami, prosciutto, red onion, Pepperoncini & Provolone
    Joseph P.

I've lived in the valley for years and have known about this restaurant for just as long, but for some reason never tried it until now. They say to save the best for last, and this might be one of those times. Tucked away on a corner, it truly feels like a hidden gem. Walking in--true to my habit of being the first customer of the day--I was greeted right away and told my group of five could sit anywhere. I usually skip booths, but they had a nice table-and-chair booth setup that won me over. From the start, we felt right at home, with a friendly, knowledgeable waiter who knew the menu inside and out. The chef and owner even came out to make sure everything was perfect--those little touches don't go unnoticed. I ordered the following: Classico Panini - With Small House Salad - A++++

    Side Sauteed Shrimp
    Ta'keisha R.

Loved this place and am planning on returning soon. Met up with my bestie and had wine and food. Their house Sauvignon is tasty. We also had the shrimp, garlic bread and fries. Looking forward to my next visit.

    Caramelized Creme Brulee

Who doesn't love Creme brûlée?!? My husband found this place as he knows my obsession with creme brûlée. This was by far one of the best I've ever had. So smooth, creamy and silky. Just enough sweetness with the berries balancing out the texture. The sugar topping is crisped to perfection to where the custard is still cold underneath. Definitely a ten out of a ten. My husband got the butter cake and loved it. The texture was spot on with a great richness. The staff is super sweet and makes you feel like a long time customer. I should be ashamed of myself as I had their creme brûlée three times in the course of one week. The inside smells so good and the next time I'll have to try their food. I just know it will not disappoint! Definitely give this place a try as you will not be disappointed. Oh, and the live music is everything!

    Chocolate Martini!!!

Stopped in and had the best Chocolate martini I've had since 2010. The recent run on espresso martinis made me miss her distant creamy millennial cousin; the timeless chocolate martini. Found this spot doing a Google search on chocolate martinis (oblig lol). Winner...10/10...would drink again.

Awesome bartender. Vanna was able to make up a drink for me based on the liquor I wanted. 10/10 Their bread is really good also. They have a lunch special where you build your own pasta. Very affordable as well. Their happy hour is also super affordable. Delicious sauces.

We had a group of 14 celebrating our twins graduating high school, with family flying in from out of state, including relatives who are deeply Sicilian, where food is love, tradition, connection, and family. Finding authentic Italian food with a luxurious atmosphere that still felt warm and welcoming was incredibly important to us, and this place exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the energy was beautiful -- elegant without being stuffy, lively without feeling overwhelming. The handcrafted Italian dishes, warm ambiance, and live music created the perfect setting for such a meaningful family celebration. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was the service. Carmen, our server, was absolutely phenomenal. I can honestly say I have never experienced better service or attentiveness anywhere. She anticipated every need before we even had to ask, yet somehow still made the experience feel relaxed, personal, and genuine. Her personality completely elevated the evening -- warm, engaging, joyful, and effortlessly professional. She made all 14 of us feel special. Jaden, our busser, was equally outstanding. Waters were constantly filled, plates cleared immediately, food packed carefully to go, and everything stayed flowing perfectly the entire night. The teamwork between them was seamless. What meant the most to me personally was how comfortable my son with autism felt there. The atmosphere, energy, and kindness of the staff made him completely at ease, and he truly enjoyed himself. That alone makes this restaurant unforgettable to our family. In Italian families, meals become memories, and last night gave us one we'll talk about for years. Thank you for helping us celebrate such an important milestone with love, warmth, incredible food, and exceptional hospitality.

The setting does a lot of the work: a large, charming garden with plenty of outdoor seating that gives the whole place a cozy, almost village feel. Inside, there's a small bar that's tough to get into, but it's really your only option if you're walking in without a reservation and don't want to wait an hour or more. The kitchen is usually the highlight. With an Italian chef behind it, everything leans fresh and well executed--pizzas consistently shine, and the salads are just as strong. This time, though, the bolognese was a miss. The pasta was clearly overcooked, which stood out given how reliable the food typically is--felt more like an off night than the norm. The wine-by-the-glass list is solid and approachable, and the many awards feel well deserved overall. A diverse staff adds to the cosmopolitan yet relaxed atmosphere. Even with the misstep, Cibo holds its place as one of the better all-around dining experiences downtown.

There is a bar in one room, a dining room with tables, banquettes, and booths, and a really nice patio in front. We had reservations, and the host took us directly to our table after asking what our preference for seating was. I would suggest getting reservations, because there were people waiting who didn't have reservations. Our server was delightful. She was very helpful and offered suggestions when I couldn't make up my mind. The cocktails and food were delicious. I think that they have one of the best red sauces on their meatballs that I've ever had. My only complaint was that it was very hot in the dining room. I did eventually mention it to the server who agreed it was very hot and said she would see what she could do, but soon after that we left. Service: The hostess was obviously incapable of being a hostess. She sat out group outside under the mister in 70 degree weather. The kids were freezing and bird poop was on the table. All she did was make a joke and refused to move us to another table. We've asked the waiter to turn off the mister, situation still not resolved so the manager or owner comes out. He absolutely has no customer service himself. Only gave us the excuse that the misters stay on. Which is fine but we've asked to move at the beginning of our arrival and by the time we got our food, it got so cold from being outside with the mister on. The manager didn't offer any means to resolve our unpleasant experience. After we expressed our experience and asked for a check because we're ready to leave, he then finally offers for the food to be remade. There's no way we'd want the bad food to be made again. Food is not worth the price, customer is even worst. An extra treat was that they have bottles of spicy oil on the tables, so I was able to enjoy the crusts by slathering them with the tasty oil as though they were breadsticks. On the way out, after mentioning to the bartender how good the oil was, I was gifted a couple of condiment cuplets to-go, which was a thoughtful and nice touch and sort of made up for the server who wasn't particularly warm or informative as I had to ask about the specials and whether or not all the pasta is freshly made, etc. Heck, if you have a great selling point like homemade pasta, talk it up and get us to drooling! There is a variety of seating available, including outside and at the bar--bar has an inside section as well as outside which is a nice design for the lovely weather days. However, it's unfortunate that the outdoor seating is on such a busy traffic corner, so it's not the little retreat it would otherwise be. The lunchtime music was more like happy hour music, not conducive to conversation--maybe for the cellphones-at-the -table crowd it's okay, but being near the Phoenix Art Museum and Arizona Opera, why not add to the cultural experience of the area by celebrating its Italian origins with some Italian music? Even if just added as interludes during every few pieces, it would enhance the ambiance. We had to raise our voices to carry on our conversation, but it was manageable. However, when I came back the next week with a friend with a hearing impairment, it became more problematic. She tried adjusting her hearing aids, but the thumping rhythm kept taking precedence as we tried to find a quieter corner, but it wasn't possible as it is a small space and speakers were close to each table. I felt so bad that she couldn't enjoy a meal there--we both were so looking forward to having a fresh pasta dish, but just couldn't stay. Upon leaving, I felt I should let management know why so I waited to speak to him, offering constructive criticism about the sound level but he was not the least apologetic nor said he would take it under advisement, but was completely dismissive and harrumphy as though we were annoying problems and not potential regulars with suggestions worthy of consideration. How hard would it be to have a quieter area or make a speaker accessible with volume control? People, whether on the spectrum, with hearing impairments, or just lovers of good conversation deserve respect and when it is not given, will go elsewhere....
