I enjoy coming to Caffe D'Bolla for the bubble tea. It was the first place I ever found in Utah that served it, so I was ecstatic! They have a decent range of flavors, though I have to say, the drinks seem over priced. Granted, anywhere else I've gone has charged around the same price, though usually for a few more ounces to cash ratio. The atmosphere is a little dark, but cosy in that way. For such a tiny cafe, there does seem to be ample seating, however I've only ever seen one guy working, even when there is a huge crowd, which makes the wait times just to order last a little too long. I don't drink other types of drinks from this place, so I can't comment on those. Refer to other people's reviews for that! read more

Salt Lake is so lucky to have this place. They are super knowledgeable about coffee and they roast their own beans there. The first time there I had an amazing soy latte that was perfection and the last time I had an iced americano. Its everything a coffee shop should be. read more

The ritual brewing in the somewhat steam punkish Japanese vacuum machine, The sliver rimmed china cup and saucer,the crash course on coffee's orgin's and expected flavor notes, the instructions to wait for the flavors to peak, the strong aroma from the cup while you wait, the visible oils on the drink's surface: who does this for $5? I had a latte and a coffee (siphon brew)! Both extremely good. The owner took the time to explain to me how he does things differently. No wonder why the coffee here is so good! Far and away the best vacuum pot coffee I have ever had. The espresso was excellent as well and I picked up a bag of Yirgacheffe that is pretty killer. Easily the best coffee in SLC. Definitely try their siphon coffee. read more

Unique and focused, this coffee shop offers special and exceptional coffee drinks that are edgy and simply delicious. The single origin siphon coffee is only served black and for stay-only customers. "This man is a genius" said a letter of recommendation for graduate school sent on behalf of the young, unknown math prodigy John Nash. The letter-writer could very easily have been talking up D'Bolla owner and Master Roaster John Piquet! Too many coffee shops use that title rather too liberally but John is the real deal: I tell you he is a chemical genius. He combines coffee varieties again and again until he finds the perfect balance of flavors. I've never had an espresso blend or siphon brewed cup that I didn't enjoy immensely. If I could afford a latte a day here, I'd be in heaven :) read more

Recommended to this spot by another local coffee shop. I was forewarned the owner was pretty serious. Ordered an americano since I did not have the hour it took for a regular coffee plus mine was to go. Was not incredibly impressed with the drink. Side note... people must come here for the coffee and not in search of a friendly atmosphere. If you're okay with that, then you may enjoy your coffee! Best espresso and coffee in Salt Lake City IMHO. Aritisan coffees are roasted in house and it looks like the only baristas working there are the couple that own the place, who know their products inside-out and they're not shy about letting you know how great their coffee is. John and Yiching make the ONLY good espresso in the city. It's not sour or bitter, and Yiching is a master at latte art (if you go for that sort of thing, I'm more about the taste). The milk is stretched to the point of releasing the natural sugars in it, and makes it unnecessary to add anything to your latte or cappucino. Coffee is by the cup via siphon method which renders a very clean, crisp tasting coffee. It is also a very common method of brewing in Taiwan where Yiching hails from. The bubble tea is fantastic, Taiwan style. My highest recommendation to Caffe d' Bolla. If you're looking for an amazing cup, then look no further. read more

This is the coffee of my dreams. Seriously amazing. I usually get a latte and for whatever reason it is exponentially better than any other latte in town. The owner is super nice and seems really dedicated to making good coffee. I have heard from friends that they also have good bubble tea, which I am looking forward to trying next time I go there. I wish there was a little more hangout space, but it wouldn't matter if this coffee shop was standing room only because it is honestly that good. read more

Bubble tea that is legit! I have been on a journey, no more of a quest, to find great bubble tea in Salt Lake City and today the finish line was reached. As I learned today, the type of bubble tea that I like is the Taiwanese style, which means that it is not hot and it is not like a milk shake. The drinks are good (I'm a fan of the matcha bubble tea), and priced fairly reasonably. However, the environment was not very welcoming. The barista would rather talk to his friends about their expensive trips and hobbies than offer us help. Went on quiet weekday afternoon. Was only one of two customers at the time. The owner is very nice and incredibly helpful. I am trying to learn more about coffee and let him pick my drink. I am not a coffee person, but rather I am a tea person. As such I have a hard time finding places that make good tea, especially a good chai tea. So many places use a powder or a syrupy concentrate to make their chai (yuck). Or, if they actually use a concentrate it's not that good. Caffe d'bolla however, makes their own chai and they know how to do it right. This just blows me away and I am sooooo, happy! read more

As a long time fan of SL Roasting Company , I was hesitant to try something new, but....I am SO HAPPY I did. Caffe D'Bolla blows the competition out of the water. Their coffee is wonderful, from the subtle nuances in the varied house-blended roasts they use in their espresso to the silky, richness of their lattes. Divine. They always explain exactly what blend they're currently using, keeping customers well informed & educated. Their service is outstanding, unlike the so-so service SLRC offers (if they deign to actually pretend to like you). At Caffe D'Bolla, they're happy to see you! I have to assume the very kind couple are co-owners, as they genuinely care & know both their product & their customers....and want repeat customer! They truly care.
