Came by one morning since it's close by to my apartment and they have out flyers for free drinks around the neighborhood. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I had them prepare an almond milk latte for me to try and it was one of the best lattes I've had! The coffee was smooth and the almond milk wasn't overly watery or sweetened. They had plenty of sweeteners you can use if you like as well as cocoa powder and cinnamon I mixed into my drink. Will come back when I need a good pick-me-up. read more

I was walking by and thought I'd get a quick coffee at Caffe Luxxe in Malibu and oh my goodness. I had the Caffe Niko ( I believe) which was espresso with orange and cinnamon and I don't know what all else but this was, bar none, the best coffee drink I have ever had, ever, anywhere. It had the right body, the right sweetness, the right creaminess and crema; in short, it was magical. Honestly, everything else that calls itself coffee, shouldn't. In a time when we're so constrained, this was a little bit of heaven, and I will include having one of these into my daily routine. I have been to this location a few times since the great COVID lockdown. Every time the employees have been incredibly friendly, personable without being too much, and efficient. My usual location is the CL in the Palisades, but since I'm teaching from home I don't get there as much as I used too. Where do i start??? One of my closest friends has seriously made me an attic of Caffe Luxxe. The almond latte is like no other as well as there chocolate croissant (ask to have it warmed up). While I was freezing my tushy off outside of Sweet Rose Creamery I felt that having some warm coffee in my system would make me feel cozy. There were two cute girls manning this tiny little coffee shop. I perused there yummy looking pastries before ordering my coffee. There were a few super great offerings that I would be interested in checking out next time I'm around. The shopping center that Luxxe is in has plenty of free parking so I will be back!! I spent roughly $13 on four drinks. Not cheap but not obscene either. I had a soy cappuccino, Ted had a carmello, and both Lucy and Bill had Americanos (Lucy's was decaf). Of course their well known rosetta latte art was well executed and beautiful as always! I found my cappuccino to totally delectable! The espresso was smooth with deep, earthy tones and a crisp aftertaste. The perfect blend of earthy and nutty underlines. Amazing! The foam on the cap was very creamy and it had developed that sweet nature that perfect foam has. The cappuccino didn't need any sweetener at all! Both Lucy and Bill agreed that their Americanos were sensational. Neither sweetened or creamed theirs and still enjoyed them immensely. We left nothing behind. Ted didn't know what I had ordered him and had assumed that it was a latte. He said that he loved the drink but didn't realize it had been sweetened with caramel sauce at all. It didn't bother him at all. But it did seem like it wasn't worth the extra 50 cents. I would definitely stick to the basics because that is clearly their strong point. Now THIS is how coffee should be done! i've been a Starbucks fan for years now and didn't realize there were other, BETTER, coffee places out there. Funny how it took me to go to Los Angeles to find them! Anyway, the quality of the coffee is amazing but be prepared to pay more than Starbucks for a cup of Joe. It's worth it though! They also do this really cool trick with their milk when they prepare a Mocha or a cappuccino that forms the froth into a leaf or something (see pictures). The one here at the Country Mart is very pleasant and quiet, especially in the mornings. A great place to just relax and enjoy a nice, gorgeous day in La La Land! read more

I have to change my initial review about this place. I went to buy my husband a macaroon from here because he loves them and there was a zillion mosquitos inside the pastry case sitting on the macaroons and other pastries. I asked the guy if he had more macaroons in the back and he said yes and asked me why. When I showed him all the mosquitos sitting on the macaroons he did NOTHING about it. He just let the mosquitos keep sitting on them and didn't even throw them away. That is really really really disgusting. It makes me wonder if all the other times I have gotten a pastry from here if previously there was a nasty mosquito sitting on it. Mosquitos carry tons of germs, they sit on dog poo then they could possibly be sitting on your $2.00 precious macaroon. I enjoyed the most flavorful, hot and delicious americano here today. Inside there are several tables and and two long tables with stools along them. One of these runs along the window and faces Montana ave. I opted to sit here and then changed my mind and decided to sit outside with my perfect coffee and soak up the warm sunshine on one their two benches outside. As I was ordering my coffee I kept getting pulled towards the adorable greeting cards, lotions, and other assorted gift items on their shelves. Unlike most people I know, I don't get coffee everyday. So when I get coffee, I want it to be a great one. That's why I try to avoid chains and mermaids logos as much as I possibly can. Cafe Luxxe serves imha one the best expressos in Los Angeles -- if not in America. It is flavorful, kind of silky and leaves a great aftertaste. Not like most expressos you find in town, that always leave this nauseous aftertaste that you can only get rid of by popping a mint. Not cheap, that's for sure, but worth every penny if you take coffee as seriously as I do. Service is great and fast. Would have hands down given 5 stars if they had wifi for customers. read more

I always was a fan of the vibe of Café Luxxe. Their coffee is above average and their barista's were always extremely nice. I never had a problem with it until the extremely rude service I received there today. While our city wide mask mandate has been dropped and I have not encountered one business that has required masks in all of Los Angeles, they were so strict about enforcing the policy that makes no sense right now. When the lady in line in front of me and I both inquired about it and offered to show our vaccine cards, they said absolutely not. We insist on the mask. When I put my mask on I was told that that was not good enough and that I would need a better mask in their coffee shop!!! There is so much competition in this city and their coffee is certainly not worth that type of treatment and humiliation. I told them I would not be returning and they looked surprised. I am not so sure why anybody would insist on enforcing a rule that has been dropped because the science does not support it. Of course allow customers to wear masks if they would like, but why take it to this extreme at this time? I definitely will not be returning and I hope everybody who feels the way I do knows what their policy is and also will boycott this coffee shop at this time until they remove this ridiculous policy. read more

This quaint little coffee shop is situated right next to the very popular Sweet Rose Creamery, which is the reason I was in the area. After overdoing it with the ice cream and pie at Sweet Rose, I decided I needed a bit of caffeine to wash it all down. Walking into the cafe, you get the feeling a rather high end, fancy coffee shop you would only find in the richest of neighborhoods. But then, it is Santa Monica. They offer a number of different varieties of high quality coffee; as well as yummy pastries, cookies, and something that looked to be jams and other little knick knacks on the shelves lining the walls. I had the Iced Americano with soymilk, and it truly had that high quality, strong coffee flavor. First off, I really liked how this place didn't have the smell of coffee beans lingering within it's shop. Within 5 seconds of walking in, I already had someone ready to assist me and explain what each pastry was. Being that it was my first time in there, they were very patient with me when I practically asked to smell what half of their teas on the menu was like as well. I ended up ordering a shortbread dulce de leche heart cookie and golden pu erh tea which didn't taste stellar to me at first, but as the tea cooled down and I was able to eat both at the same time, they were a perfect combination! It is so smooth and delicious, strong without any bitter aftertaste. Depending on my mood, I'll have a straight double espresso or a sweetened latte... it's all amazing here. This is their third location, and every one has very nice, very professional baristas who really know what they're doing (their skill at the foam art is a nice touch too). This one has a cute outdoor patio, and if you're REALLY in a coffee mood... head next door to the Sweet Rose Creamery for their Caffe Luxxe flavored ice cream. They're supposed to have awesome hot chocolate, so I stopped in here on Saturday just before 3pm with a friend to hook her up since she was without wallet on our walk, and we walked in to an empty shop with no line--"great!" we thought. Until we stood in front of two baristas having some sort of heated training conversation which continued for a good 20 seconds while we stared, without acknowledgement of any sort, verbal, nonverbal, etc. We ordered, and I paid, and we waited. And waited. And the barista starts making coffee for the people who ordered after us. No sign of the hot chocolate. Eventually my friend inquires about her beverage and he hands it over shortly after--tiny, weak, $3.50. Unchocolatey. "Slightly flavored soy milk," she told me. She's the regular here, knowing what is normal to expect of Caffe Luxxe. Seems like the staff on hand this particular day was the problem. read more

Caffe Luxxe is a quaint little coffee shop located right next door to Sweet Rose Creamery in the Brentwood Country Mart. You know how most people despise trendy hipster coffee shops because they hate paying five bucks for a cup of coffee? Well I'm not like that. I'm not like that at all. I love paying crazy amounts of money for coffee. Why? Because a) I'm stupid and b) I appreciate the effort these independent coffee people put into making their drinks. Yeah, $5.25 might be a little steep for a mocha, but at least you get to pretend you're better than everybody else as you're drinking it. And that's pretty much what Caffe Luxxe is about. I mean, c'mon, it's called Caffe Luxxe. It might as well be called Caffe Moneys. Or Caffe We're Better Than You. And I honestly mean that in the best possible way. It doesn't hurt that their coffee is also crazy delicious. Caffe Shakerato (espresso, milk, ice, slightly sweetened, dark chocolate, hand shaken) - Not too sweet and perfectly creamy; exactly how I like my espresso drinks. I go to Caffe Luxxe and spend more money than I would if I walked half a block up the street to Starbucks, because the coffee and environment is well worth it. I think that any complaints about the staff not being friendly come from the fact that you are not assaulted with artificial friendliness the moment you walk in the door - as many employees are trained to do at chain establishments. I find the genuine service at Caffe Luxxe refreshing. In my experience the baristas are funny, cool, and super knowledgeable about their product.
