Very good breakfast today. The Cajun Breakfast is an awesome entree that somehow works. The mushrooms really make the dish. My husband had the King Kong omelet and thought it was great. Don't miss the homemade jelly. Service was good. The bathrooms were both out of service and it was really cold in the restaurant or I would have given another star. read more

I like this place. it is quaint, it is clean, the staff is nice, and the food is honest. Nothing stands out per se; it is well-made food at a fair price and ever so tasty. We had a group of four hear for lunch. Any place that serves breakfast throughout the day is already my favorite place. I opted for the chicken and waffles. The waffles were perfect. Crispy outside and tender inside. In my opinion, this is the best of both worlds, of sweet waffles and maple syrup and the savory of the chicken and the sausage gravy. They even cut up the chicken just like my mom would do in my youth :) Others had the sizable egg sandwich with hashbrowns. I tried the hashbrowns, and they were pretty good. This place is on the other side of the metro for me, but I will certainly hit it up if I am down there. read more

Middle of the road in terms of food. I would give the cinnamon roll a HUGE miss. The roll itself is as big if not m, bigger than a persons face but it if dry as heck. Completely inedible. Amazing food, great coffee and friendly service. The ambiance is reminiscent of an old school diner with a variety of patrons. I have tried several breakfast items and have never been disappointed. They appear to be short staffed with servers, but they are always attentive and friendly. A wonderful plate of hash browns scrambled eggs, green peppers, ham, bacon and hollandaise sauce accompanied by sour dough toast. Service was superior. Prices were reasonable. I was in the neighborhood. I got the cajun breakfast. Eggs were more OM than OE. The hollandaise was delicious. Basil love the Philly omelet. I got the wheat that was buttered well. The handicapped parking spots are not near the restaurant but in front of the exercise/workout place. Somebody moonlights as a comedian. The service was good. I'm glad we beat the party of 8 by 5 minutes. The cook is very fast. You'll need to keep a jacket or sweater on in the in between weather. Every seat is near the front door. stopped by here today at 1:30 hoping for a quick lunch with my elderly mom. Since they close at 2, we were told the frier had already been turned off... no problem - we each got a taco salad (we were going to go without the shells, but they had 2 already fried/puffed). The salads were wonderful with a REAL tomato, fresh onion and nice lettuce. salsa and sour cream were on the side (which I liked). nice amount of flavorful meat. We'll be back to try more! read more

Went in for breakfast today limited breakfast menu. I'm not a meat and hash brown person. No eggs or omelets where served without them. No problem, so I went with the oatmeal, toast and apple juice. The oatmeal was like soup, the toast was unbuttered and the apple juice warm. I will say the waitress was friendly and efficient. Not her fault the food was bad! I ate very little of the food and left never to return. read more

My husband and I go here quite frequently, not necessarily because I am a huge fan, but because he LOVES this place. He is a huge fan of heavy breakfasts, and I am not. The hubs likes all of the chicken fried stuff and giant breakfasts, lol. I'm not a fan of their lunch items, but to each their own. Their hours are irregular and strange, so make sure you check to make sure they are open before you head over. But when you do get there, you will be rewarded with a good, solid breakfast (with large servings), excellent service, and a very strong community atmosphere. Came from Eagan to meet a friend and we decided on Cahill Diner as a meeting place. She lives close and it was my turn to drive. Arrived and it was pretty quiet. Staff is super friendly and efficient. Place is "cleanish", bathroom does NOT have a changing table or anywhere to change a baby which SUCKED! We both had little ones. Food is super greasy spoon style. My hash browns were dripping and my sausage patty was a really poor quality. Worse than banquet microwave style sausage. After taking a few bites I lost my appetite. Could just be a poor thing to order? Friends burger left a lot to be desired as well, but her milk shake was amazing she said. I won't go back because 1. It's out of the way and 2...my love of breakfast food has lead me to much better places. read more

I like Cahill Diner. It's not pretentious and the food is decent. I mostly have come here for breakfast, so I can't speak much to the lunch or dinner here. I can say they have some decent breakfast options with large portions for a reasonable price, although their health options are pretty limited. The Mixed Mess is a person favorite. Who doesn't love a combination of standard breakfast food mixed together and covered with a tasty hollandaise sauce? It's a very rich and filling meal, which I generally can split into two and have breakfast again the next day. The omelets are quite large and the pancakes are fluffy. It's all pretty standard breakfast fare but it's cooked well and includes food in abundance. My only complaint related to the food is a lack of healthier options for those times when I want something a little lighter, but I know when I come here I'm hungry and prepared. Service is usually pretty decent here, even when it's crowded. Rarely will your coffee cup be empty even when it's busy. Service has been friendly each time and the restaurant is clean. The tables are quite close together and it can be a little tricky to navigate to and from your table, which can be a little annoying. Overall, Cahill makes a decent, filling breakfast for a reasonable price. Maybe one of these days I'll try something off the lunch or dinner menu. read more

Service is slow to arrive, but the meals come out fast here. The coffee is watery, but bottomless. The biscuits and gravy are more about the too-white gravy than the too-soft biscuits. It's not a perfect breakfast destination, but its convenient and the food quality is ok. Prices are reasonable. Decor is bright. I won't crave this destination, but it's not to be avoided. Today I went here for the first time---it will also be my last. The service was okay. I ordered biscuits and gravy because you can order breakfast all day. It was right around 8.00 with tax at the end. The biscuits were heated up in a microwave obviously as they had that soggy texture and the gravy was just straight up weird---I pushed the mystery meat to the side and just had the bread and white sauce. I think the meat may have been some type of chorizo which is not okay with me and had it been advertised that way I would have avoided this menu option. It was a weird color not brown like sausage but more pink. The dish was salty. read more

I found myself really wanting to love Cahill Diner, as I try to support local business. I think they were having an "off" day, as the friend I was with is a regular and was disappointed as well. We were there for breakfast and I ordered a side of hashbrowns and a side of toast. My friend ordered their cheese omelet and added bacon, toast and hashbrowns. She also ordered a diet Coke that we received at the end of the meal because they were having problems changing it out. (They charged her full price for this even though it arrived when we had about two bites left - grr) The toast was not very toasty - more like warm bread with no change in color and the hashbrowns were also very light and not crispy at all. The omelet was good and my friend had the same comments about her toast and hashbrowns. Our server delivered our food and bill at the same time, which is a pet peeve of mine Overall, it was a meh experience. read more

It was ok. I was very impressed that the corned beef in the corned beef hash was real and didn't taste like the stuff you get in a can. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the jam tasted like homemade strawberry rhubarb. What I didn't care for was the grease that the eggs and potatoes were made in. There was too much and I didn't like the aftertaste. Also, the bread was barely toasted and the butter covered a very small portion of each triangle. The Cahill Diner is a pretty good place to grab some food. I usually end up stopping by on Saturday afternoon's or Sunday mornings. They have a great selection and even do orders to go! I always end up getting something from their breakfast menu (it's never a bad time for an omelet or waffles) but all of their food is decent-sometimes a little greasy, but its diner food! That's what you pay for! They also have a few spots to sit out side and eat if you like! read more

I went here for breakfast around 10:15 AM on a Saturday, and it was fairly busy; however, there were still a few spots left! I walked in and found a seat for myself. It felt a little awkward because no servers approached me for about 5 minutes.. Besides that, the service was great and pretty quick. I ordered an Eggs Benedict with ham. It came out in less than 10 minutes, and it was a pretty large portion! The eggs were cooked perfectly, but the hollandaise sauce was quite sweet for my taste. The hashbrowns were perfect!
