They were nice enough to allow us to bring a cake for our friend's birthday. We shared some with staff. The espresso martini I had was fantastic and I can't wait to go back again. We had a hookah outside after dinner.

We waited about 15 minutes just to get our check, and other tables around us waited close to 30 minutes to check out, not including the actual payment process. The menu isn't very typical, but the offerings themselves were interesting. We ordered the chicken, which was genuinely amazing and definitely the highlight of the meal. We also got the hummus. The hummus itself was good, but the portion was extremely large, and the pita bread that came with it was very thin and tasted a little stale. The French fries were really good. One thing they could improve on is the food presentation. Our plate had all the chicken piled on the bottom, fries on top, and the pita bread laid over everything, which felt a bit odd visually. The restaurant has a lot of potential, but the menu could benefit from being expanded a bit. There's also a mixed meat option on the menu priced at $200, which feels very high for the area. That said, the outside patio is really cute. If you do decide to come and try this place, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside. Overall, good food with room for improvement in service, presentation, and menu variety.

I have to laugh. I was prepared to initially give Zalabia a very low rating. When we entered, the…read moreplace was dead. A gentleman was standing in the kitchen, & he just looked at us with no greeting. We sat down, looked at a menu, & waited 7 minutes before he came out. Finally he appeared & we ordered the small chicken shawarma wraps. The gentleman replied we could not have chicken shawarma wraps today. I laughed & we ordered a beef shawarma wrap, a falafel wrap, & a side of baba ghanoush, & 2 waters. We sat for 23 minutes, lol. I told my wife this is turning into such a bad experience. Finally the man showed up with the wraps. I mentioned we also ordered waters & baba ghanoush. He seemed confused but brought them out. A moment later I sank my teeth into some of the most delicious beef shawarma I've ever had. The shop owner was from Egypt & his beef had been marinated in warm spices like cinnamon. It was unexpectedly excellent. Then I tried the baba ghanoush. Wow!! It was not the usual flavoring that I love. It was totally unique & also excellent. It also had a tiny bit of heat in it from a chile pepper. Finally, the falafel was way above average, tasting so great. Anyway, I was ready to give Zalabia one star, but it always comes down to the food. And the food was 5 stars.
