Food was crazy with flavors Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Service 3.5/5 Price$$ Order: - The 50/50 sauce with one pound of shrimp. - Wings and fries. -Mac and cheese (needs work) By far one of the best seafood boils I've had in a minute! Everything was packed with flavor, seasoned perfectly, and tasted fresh. The wings, fries, and onion rings were really good too! The only downside was that the food took quite a while to come out and Mac and cheese missing flavor or creaminess. However, the service was super friendly and attentive, and they even gave us complimentary fries for the wait, which we really appreciated. I'm giving them 4 stars for because of the long wait, but I'll definitely be coming back. Hopefully next time the food comes out a little quicker, because I can definitely see myself giving this place 5 stars!

Came here for the first time and it was an excellent experience. Service was great, our server was very attentive, and the food was amazing. We got the ocean harvest and added crab, and mussels with the 50/50 sauce medium spicy. I highly recommend this spot and the food. Will be back!

Pretty good seafood boil - in a clean diner style atmosphere. We got the all in one bag combo -- the medium spice level of the 50-50 spice was just right. The sauce was fully soaked into the seafood (lots of shrimp, crawfish, and mussels), sausage, corn, and potatoes. The corn was especially juicy. Wish there were more corn and potatoes to make it a heartier meal. We also got the side of street corn, which was made crispy with seasoning. Service was fast and friendly. A fun experience if you want to try a seafood boil.

I enjoy trying new places, new adventures and my friend has parking karma and found street parking around the corner. This restaurant is located next to Miharu Ice Cream on Telegraph and William Street in Uptown Oakland. My friends and I walked in and liked the bright decor and cozy booth that we were seated in. The server was friendly and attentive and we took our time deciding what to order to share. We ordered fried clams with garlic fries, creamy shrimp noodle, crabcakes, a bag of mussels and crawfish, chicken wings with soy garlic sauce and a side of 50/50, peach lemonade, mango lemonade and strawberry lemonade which wasn't too sweet. We were given bibs and gloves and had a blast eating with our fingers for the shellfish. My favorites were the tasty crabcakes and mussels. For dessert, we had tiramisu and chocolate lava cake (nice and warm). The space is cozy and clean. Would come back to try other items on the menu!

The shrimp, clams, and crawfish were all really good. The sauce was a little sweet if that's your preference if you don't mind that. We'll probably ask for a little spicier sauce next time. The noodles also were really amazing. We ate everything! The food initially came out really fast but then customers started coming in so it's important to use the call bell that's assigned to each table. Some people were at the bar area just to get drinks so it's good this place has different options. I'll definitely come back again.

Excellent food, excellent service, great prices. What more can you ask for?! The sauce was on point!

Fast service, food was delicious. I got the appetizer with fried fish, clams and shrimp with garlic fries. And crab boil.

I visited Cajun Claws in Oakland, CA [1951 Telegraph Ave] on Saturday, 03/28/26, around 7 PM. I was honored to come to this restaurant during the soft opening. For dinner, I ordered the "Boil Your Catch" option, which allowed me to customize a seafood boil bag. I got the 1lb of shrimp peeled off with the 50/50 sauce (garlic butter sauce + cajun sauce), medium as the spicy level ("Cajun Current"), sausage, potatoes, and corn. I must say that the sauce was extremely flavorful and complemented all of the fixings of the bag. My taste buds were dancing and I was completely satisfied with the overall taste. The service met expectations. I had the pleasure of being served by Dipesh. Dipesh was super attentive, sweet, and kind. I loved his friendly disposition and hospitality, which enhanced the entire dining experience even more! I was able to take a photo with him, too! The indoor ambiance was beautiful. I loved the spectacular decorations. The inside just had a modern take and it was just so inviting in general. Thank you, Cajun Claws, for the incredible food, marvelous service, and a positively energetic team of people. I will be returning here whenever I find myself in the Bay Area again.

The Shrimp Po' Boy (5/5) and Cajun Fried (3/5)
    Tony U.

Uptown, just a block up from Fox Theatre has a new place to eat in what used to be Roam Burgers and a Nashville Style Chicken Restaurant. Cajun Clams specializes in seafood. My review is based on my lunch order of the Shrimp Po' Boy sandwich. The sandwich, which comes with a choice of fries (regular, Cajun style, and shrimp style). I had the Cajun style fries and they pretty much tasted bland like salty fries. They weren't bad but I would have expected a stronger Cajun flavor (3/5). The Shrimp Po' Sandwich on the other hand was very good. The fried shrimps were lightly battered and they were decent sized shrimps. (5/5). This place is new and as you can see has a nice fresh looking interior. Service is reliable and friendly. Look forward to coming here again and trying their other dishes.

It was shrimp fries but I ate it so fast because it was super good ! Lol

We came here with our boys to have a nice lunch together. The 2 ladies working up front were very friendly and very helpful. The place is clean and has a nice atmosphere. There were couples and families there. So, it's a good place for a date or a get together. The food was very good. We'll be going back soon.

I really like how they let you build your seafood experience exactly how you want it, from the type of seafood to the seasoning and spice level. The only thing was I think the spice level could've been kicked up a notch. Our table ordered a mix of oysters, garlic noodles, Cajun fries, shrimp, crawfish, mussels, which came with corn, potatoes, sausage and hard boiled egg! The seafood was fresh and the sauce coated everything nicely without being overwhelmingly salty, and the corn and potatoes soaked up all the seasoning. All for a very reasonable price if you get the combo, which comes in 3 different tiers! The oysters were a standout--fresh, briny & I loved all the different sauces like horse radish and cocktail on the side. I do wish the fries were a bit more crispy and could've gone heavier with the Cajun seasoning, but that's personal preference. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and perfect for big groups. If the restaurant serves frozen crawfish, that's fine, but customers should be given accurate information when they ask directly about the product right? I feel misled because I relied on what I was told when making my purchase. Transparency is important, and I hope the restaurant does a better job communicating with customers about whether their crawfish are live or previously frozen. VERY DISHONEST BUSINESS SMH.

I had the salmon, fried prawns, mac and cheese, and cabbage. Everything we tried was flavorful, fresh, and cooked with care. The standout items were the blackened shrimp and the crab. The butter sauce covering the crab was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. The salmon was cooked exactly the way salmon should be--moist, flaky, and tender. Too many restaurants overcook salmon and dry it out in the center, but Chef Smelly's got it right. The fried prawns paired perfectly with their sweet chili sauce, which was a nice change from the usual tartar sauce. The sides held their own. The mac and cheese was creamy with great texture, and while I won't call it the best I've ever had, it was very good. The cabbage was excellent, but the collard greens were the real surprise. They reminded me of my mother's homemade greens, and that's not a compliment I give lightly. If you're from the South, you know how hard it is to find greens that taste like they came from someone's family kitchen. The service was attentive, friendly, and hospitable throughout the meal. We had a party of 7 people last week - celebrating the sale of my sister's Oakland condo - and had to reconfigure our seating for the friend who came last minute, which was done cheerfully. The set up of Calabash allows for large groups easily. We came early (5:30pm) so we had the place to ourselves for the first half hour. Their specialty cocktails are very nice. Unfortunately the wine selection is limited (I think they'd run out of some and hadn't restocked) but we were happy with the cocktails, which include non-alcoholic options. For Vegans, there are a few great items: there's a roasted brussel sprouts & cauliflower combo that is delicious (might be a little spicy for some, but not for me!); plantain; rice & peas. And for non-meat eaters, the salmon dish and the shrimp dish (an appetizer) are both excellent. I can already tell that Calabash will be my go-to spot in Oakland. I live in San Francisco, which has no authentic Caribbean dining spot, unless you count Meski (Warriors' Draymon Green's new spot), which technically is "Ethiopian-Dominican fusion". My partner and I really love seafood boil, and we both came up in cali where viet seafood boil was the ultimate satisfaction for a seafood craving. Coming here, it was really disappointing-- not that we had high expectations, we really wanted to like it and gave it an honest try. The #1 combo with 1lb respectively of crawfish, shrimp, + mussels + potato + corn and bread looked to be the best value and a bit of a classic choice, and we decided on the crazy sauce, hot spicy level. The sauce was spicy, sure, but it was runny(not in a good way), lacking in distinguishable flavor, oily, and didn't seem to want to stay/embed itself in the seafood at all. The crawfish had the essence of having been obviously frozen, the shrimp was mostly fine but small comparatively, and the mussels genuinely made me a bit concerned for my health. Beyond half of them being false and having no mussel in them, the rest appeared as if they had died and were cooked dead. Some tasted as such too. Strange, almost repulsive aftertaste. Then, they really gave us a singular potato. The corn (also singular) I had recognized as a frozen variety which I had once as a child. The kind with crazy gummy type texture. The bread was obviously just the banh mi bread(the restaurant also serves pho and probably is the primary appeal), which isn't a bad thing, it just felt lazy and perhaps is reflective of the attitude towards the preparation of the food. I really don't like writing negative reviews, and honestly the service we received was very attentive and kind, but I felt compelled to write this because it is a bit of an insult to seafood boil and a sure disappointment to anyone who enjoys it. I really wish the business well and hopefully the pho is good and can carry the restaurant. Best of luck!
