RC now offers combos for their lip smacking Asian Cajun boils and their $1 oysters are finally back. Their seafood quality is always fresh and sauce is consistently on point. PSA: HAPPY HOUR SPECIALS!

    HH shrimp and crawfish

We love their happy hour menu! Such a good deal from 3pm to 6 pm. Came back two weeks in a row because we were addicted! The shrimps are huge, crawfish I believe is frozen but still tastes good and good quality! I love their rockin sauce (everything combined) in hot. If you like spicy I think hot or extra hot is doable. It's not that spicy but their sauce is the best part. Service is very friendly and food comes out quick! Would definitely recommend.

I always get the shrimp with the head on and white rice. It's a simple meal with a lot of flavor. I love getting the head on because it's bursting with flavor. The customer service is okay and the location is a short distance from the beautiful Lake Merritt.

1 lb. Head off Shrimp with corn and a few garlic noodles

I came here with my family to celebrate my son's graduation and had an overall good experience. I ordered prawns with corn and thought the flavor was good. The prawns had an excellent texture, a really nice bite. The spice level was right on point, not mild but just enough kick to wake up my senses. I tried my niece's garlic noodles and thought they were good. I don't like that everything was individual, I would've liked combination options. Our server was incredible, she was attentive with a great attitude.

Literally my favorite place ever! The amount of times I have been to The Rockin' Crawfish or had it delivered is actually insane - I love this place. They use live crawfish in their seafood boils so they are incredibly fresh, sweet and juicy. You know the crawfish is good when you can easily pull the vein out of the tail! My friends and I always order pounds upon pounds of crawfish because it's just that good. All their seafood tastes super fresh and the Rockin' Combo sauce is very flavorful. When eating in-person, the calamari rings are a must-buy - they are perfectly flavorful and crisp. Their saketinis are also great and really have a kick to them. The staff is all so kind and quick. Everyone working there is young and hip, and it really shows through the vibe of the restaurant. Like many seafood boil restaurants, all the walls are autographed and drawn on. If you were to close your eyes, you would think you were in a nightclub. The music is always blasting, no matter what time of day it is. Sometimes it is loud enough where you cannot hear the person sitting across from you but regardless, it is a super fun vibe. The Rockin' Crawfish has literally never missed.

The service was quick and food was very tasty! I enjoyed their happy hour menu, I feel like it was worth the price for happy hour apps and deals. I got 1b of crawfish on top of the half pound of clams and shrimp. I felt like the sauce was good but it didn't soak enough into the seafood as I hoped. The vibe is super chill and the staff is very nice!

Came to Oakland to visit a friend, and she took me to her go to spot for Cajun seafood- Rockin' Crawfish. Now I see why she loves it! The food here is delicious and exactly what you'd want from a seafood boil spot: fresh, flavorful, and great overall We went all in and got fresh crawfish (with sausage, corn and potatoes), raw oysters, cold micheladas, garlic noodles, and fried oysters--everything was CHEF'S KISS. A major highlight was getting to try a new menu item (not sure if it's officially on the menu yet), which was raw oysters topped with a cucumber sauce with ponzu. Super refreshing and a great contrast to the briny oysters. Now let's talk about the sauce... the sauce was sooo good paired with the seafood combo that we got. It complimented everything and I could literally eat the sauce mixed with the garlic noodles or some rice. Highly recommend getting the Rockin' combo sauce - we ordered a medium because my friend can't handle spice too well but I'm definitely coming back to try it spicer next time. There's plenty of seating and space, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a seafood feast. Service was fast, friendly, and accommodating, which is always a plus when you're dealing with messy, hands on eating. Would absolutely come back--great food and friendly service.

Best service and yummy seafood! When I'm in Oakland, I always try to hit this spot up...

I love this place. The food is great. The service is pretty good. The ambience is as advertised, Rockin'! My personal favorite is the lychee martini with a bag of shrimp, add corn and sausage, with a side of rice. Come hungry & thirsty.

There are literally no good seafood boils in SF, so we had to make the trip to Oakland and check out Rockin Crawfish! We haven't been here in years, but wanted a taste of nostalgia! KO was our designated point person and he was so helpful, fun, and efficient! He explained how much food he would recommend a group of 4 to order, continued to check in on us, and gave us great friendly banter! He honestly really made the experience for us and we will definitely be coming back! Food was filling and delicious.

Took my bf here for the first time and he's accustomed to eating fresh, huge, juicy crawfish so I knew he would give an honest review. He LOVED it... "greatest seafood boil I've ever been to" It wasn't just the food, they had everything though of. From the black gloves instead of the clear ones that are so loose, to giving us TONS of lemons compared to other places where we always had to ask for more. We even asked if we could change the tv to watch the playoffs and they willingly did it. The food came out with reasonable time, and the music was so fun. Think current hiphop, r&b, and throwbacks. Its family friendly still, they get packed after 6pm. We went on a Saturday around 4:30-5 and it was empty but we saw the crowd as the night went on. Parking is the only hard find, but I would honestly just park anywhere on the street and make the walk. So worth it.

I had the salmon, fried prawns, mac and cheese, and cabbage. Everything we tried was flavorful, fresh, and cooked with care. The standout items were the blackened shrimp and the crab. The butter sauce covering the crab was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. The salmon was cooked exactly the way salmon should be--moist, flaky, and tender. Too many restaurants overcook salmon and dry it out in the center, but Chef Smelly's got it right. The fried prawns paired perfectly with their sweet chili sauce, which was a nice change from the usual tartar sauce. The sides held their own. The mac and cheese was creamy with great texture, and while I won't call it the best I've ever had, it was very good. The cabbage was excellent, but the collard greens were the real surprise. They reminded me of my mother's homemade greens, and that's not a compliment I give lightly. If you're from the South, you know how hard it is to find greens that taste like they came from someone's family kitchen. The service was attentive, friendly, and hospitable throughout the meal. The set up of Calabash allows for large groups easily. We came early (5:30pm) so we had the place to ourselves for the first half hour. Their specialty cocktails are very nice. Unfortunately the wine selection is limited (I think they'd run out of some and hadn't restocked) but we were happy with the cocktails, which include non-alcoholic options. For Vegans, there are a few great items: there's a roasted brussel sprouts & cauliflower combo that is delicious (might be a little spicy for some, but not for me!); plantain; rice & peas. And for non-meat eaters, the salmon dish and the shrimp dish (an appetizer) are both excellent. I can already tell that Calabash will be my go-to spot in Oakland. My partner and I really love seafood boil, and we both came up in cali where viet seafood boil was the ultimate satisfaction for a seafood craving. Coming here, it was really disappointing-- not that we had high expectations, we really wanted to like it and gave it an honest try. The #1 combo with 1lb respectively of crawfish, shrimp, + mussels + potato + corn and bread looked to be the best value and a bit of a classic choice, and we decided on the crazy sauce, hot spicy level. The sauce was spicy, sure, but it was runny(not in a good way), lacking in distinguishable flavor, oily, and didn't seem to want to stay/embed itself in the seafood at all. The crawfish had the essence of having been obviously frozen, the shrimp was mostly fine but small comparatively, and the mussels genuinely made me a bit concerned for my health. Beyond half of them being false and having no mussel in them, the rest appeared as if they had died and were cooked dead. Some tasted as such too. Strange, almost repulsive aftertaste. Then, they really gave us a singular potato. The corn (also singular) I had recognized as a frozen variety which I had once as a child. The kind with crazy gummy type texture. The bread was obviously just the banh mi bread(the restaurant also serves pho and probably is the primary appeal), which isn't a bad thing, it just felt lazy and perhaps is reflective of the attitude towards the preparation of the food. I really don't like writing negative reviews, and honestly the service we received was very attentive and kind, but I felt compelled to write this because it is a bit of an insult to seafood boil and a sure disappointment to anyone who enjoys it. I really wish the business well and hopefully the pho is good and can carry the restaurant. Best of luck!

We sat inside originally, but then decided to go sit outside because it was a beautiful day. The inside was clean and very quiet, the patio was full of people. Ambiance gets a 4/5. We were immediately met by a pleasant waitress, and when we moved she just came and found us. She was very informative, engaging, and knowledgeable, great service all around 4.8/5. I ordered the strength & my cousin the garlic wings and a margarita. The wings were some of the best I've ever had, fried to perfection and seasoned just right. A huge punch of garlic, which I really enjoy, so wings were 4.9/5. The vegetarian sandwich I ordered was so delicious, the pesto and garlic aioli really added flavor and the fresh warm bread really set it apart 4.8/9, only because the jalapeño was more spicy than pickled. Overall; I rate this place a 4.7/5

All the food sounded good on the menu. I had the sapphire which was supposed to be hot but it wasn't at all for me. The gem was almost like a Philly cheese steak. Both were really good. The fries seasoning is really good and the onion rings were good as well. I got a mango lemonade drink that I really enjoyed. Cool place to watch sports and grab a good bite to eat. Now go and enjoy, you can thank me later.
