    Queso fundido for real!

Customer Service = 5 STAR "Vuelva de Vida" Seafood Cocktail and Seafood Soup = 4 STAR I would definitely return for those. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because I've had my best seafood on the coasts and borders of Mexico. My rating is only on the food I had. Table Salsa = 2 STAR (Take into consideration I am of Mexican decent and I love spicy food)

Fish ceviche plate. I requested jalapeños to be added. It's delicious from here ! They give you a lot for a serving also.

This isla location is okay. I personally think the food, ambiance, and service is better at the location off cooper and park row . However based on my experiences at this location is can tell you the food doesn't disappoint. Usually this spot is pretty empty every time I've come by. But the good part is that there's no wait and the food arrives within minutes. My favorite plate is the ceviche. It is fish ceviche served on a big platter. Usually restaurants don't give big servings of ceviche which I'm assuming is due to the fish cost? But la isla is very generous with their plate sizes. I always ask them to add jalapeño to my ceviche, which is how im used to eating it from everywhere ive ordered it. Thats the only thing I don't like about the way they prepare it Their Bistec a la mexicana is hands down my favorite Bistec platter. It is delicious, spicy, juicy, saucy, and the meat is tender. The rice and the beans are also tasty. Another good dish to try is the Caldo de camarón. Their complimentary chips and salsa are good also , specially when they make the salsa spicy. Try this place out. If you don't mind being at an empty restaurant, the food is definitely a must try.

The restaurant is in an old, lovely Victorian house that includes a boutique hotel and spa. Small dining rooms and a large outdoor patio for dining. Started with two specialty cocktail, both large but not overly strong. Began with salads. Both the beet salad and the burrata salads were tasty and large. Salmon Benedict was two pieces of filet on oversized English muffin, well prepared with side of potatoes. Crabcake Benedict was served sans muffin. Same side of potatoes. Dessert was a slice of lemoncello cake and coffee. Cake was terrific, very subtle flavors. Great place for celebratory meal.

The menu had brunch and lunch options and everything sounded so good it was hard to choose. We ended up sharing the burrata salad with grilled peaches and they split it onto two plates for us. It was SO good! We both got the salmon Benedict and I loved mine. The salmon was cooked perfectly as was the egg and the hollandaise was delish. The potatoes were typical breakfast potatoes but they were good. For my birthday they let me choose any dessert and the limoncello cake was absolutely perfect. Lemony and tart with creamy frosting, I would go back just for that!! I definitely recommend this place for brunch!

Saturday lunch around 11:30am, not a line but they did get a bit busier. I've been here a few times…read more& I'm surprised it wasn't as busy for a weekend. It's really just great food, nothing fancy but delicious. I had the lobster roll, I came with coleslaw & fries. I'm not a coleslaw person but it was pretty good. The fries were perfect & they have that good ranch. The lobster roll itself was on Texas toast, buttery toasted goodness with meaty lobster. I'm definitely going to have to go back for this sometime soon, it was $20 for my meal. My friend had chicken strips, no complaints there & we shared a basket of fried pickles. Clean restaurant, fast service, tasty food, & friendly staff. Prices are fair, no concerns with menu options for everyone. Fun, chill place with a lot of fishing decor & photos. There's a reason why this place has been here for so long, great lunch stop!

Came on a Tuesday afternoon and had the special Caddo (tilapia and shrimp over rice with a creamy…read moresauce). It was pretty good and I was surprised at how thick the tilapia was. Shrimp on top was a little chewy, but acceptable. DH had the shrimp po boy and it really could have used four or five more shrimp. More bread than anything. I tasted his fries and they seemed to have been fried in old oil. I love hush puppies, but could only eat a small bite of the one I tried. Again, old frying oil that soaked the entire hush puppies. There are fish photos all over the walls, which are kind of fun to look at. Will be back because we have friends that like their Tuesday special, but overall the food is just OK.
