Three of us stopped in for lunch for the first time. Service was prompt and very friendly. The restaurant was clean We ordered the fried fish and shrimp meal, gizzards, egg rolls and popcorn shrimp. You only get two egg rolls in the order and they were just too fishy to eat. On the seafood plate everything tasted the same. You really couldn't tell the difference between the fish and the shrimp. It just wasn't my favorite. I saw a couple of gentlemen at another table with some interesting plates so maybe we just didn't order the right thing. I'm all for giving it a second try... Their food is great! We have been to both locations. We had a terrible experience at the one on 23rd Street. I took my entire family of 9 there and spent over $200. We had asked for some ranch for each person's entree when we placed our order. When they delivered our food they didn't give us any ranch. My son went and asked for ranch for us, and they told him it would be $.50 each. I went and told them we had asked for ranch and asked for them to get our ranch. They told me it would be $.50 each again. I said"I just spent over $200 in their restaurant; the least they could do is give us our ranch as sauce for our meals. The lady was very rude. I asked for a manager. The manager told me that they would charge me for the ranch. I told him that I can get ranch at many restaurants to go with my meal at no charge. He continued to try to lecture me about running a business, which I was already running a business. He told me that even McDonalds charges for sauce. I told that even McDonalds even gives a couple of sauces with each meal I order, and I asked if he was really comparing his restaurant to McDonalds. He never would give me ranch unless I paid for it. When we were eating a couple employees brought us 4 desserts for our family to share. What?! Those 4 desserts cost way more than the 9 ranches I asked for. It wasn't obvious it was about them controlling the situation rather than serving their customers. We did NOT eat their desserts. I had no idea what they might have done to them. Incredible!!!!!!! The loaded blackened catfish is now an instant classic and will go down as one of my all time favorite dishes!!! I love sitting at the bar!!! I've made fast friends with a lot of the staff!!! I have to admit one of my favorite feelings about sitting down at the restaurant that I start going to a lot is when one of the waiters are bartenders, remembers what you like to eat!!! They had a wall of beer for those who like it, but thankfully soft drinks a plenty too. The prices were totally budget friendly and every item we ordered was just very plentiful. The fries were also amazing. The wait staff were very pleasant and the cooks very quick. Well it's official. It's not the location that makes this place so bad, it is the quality of the food and ambience. I went to the one in Uptown a few months back and the food was so spicy hot I couldn't eat it. So I guess I hadn't punished myself enough so I decided to try the one in the south side. The first thing you notice when you walk in the door is that it is still under construction and there is extreme chill in the air. Next you have to order at a counter and they bring you the food when it is ready. I am more of a sit down and be waited on guy. So I order what I have been told was a good dish by a guy at work. I ordered the loaded blackened fish and a bowl of gumbo. The loaded blackened fish was way too spicy for me and was under cooked and I have had better gumbo out of a can. Because EVERYTHING was not to my liking I asked for some togo containers. The togo containers were extremely flimsy. So flimsy when I went to put the leftover loaded blackened fish in my refrigerator the container folded in half and spilled on the floor. This made me even "happier". Overall grade "F". This grade is for both locations. I was expecting a lot more than what I ended up with. I would consider this the Taco Bell of Cajun food. I don't eat there either. Not for me! I love me some Cajun food and the dishes I've had here is always tasty. Big portions and great prices. My favorite is the loaded blackened fish. It's smothered in a etoufee type of sauce with shrimp and crawfish on a bed of rice. So good and spicy! I also enjoyed their Cajun chicken Alfredo. It's spicy so adjust to your liking. Seafood Gumbo is delicious too. I've had several items from here and none has disappointed me yet! I wish there was one close to Moore but I usually get it for lunch since I work in SOKC. They have great customer service. One time they accidentally gave me the wrong order and the coworker that picked it up didn't realize it until she got back to the office. They drove to my office to bring me my food. Very thankful for that! It's definitely one of my favorite Cajun place! read more
