Located on Rt 22 west... some parking out front. Says there is parking in the rear... I came during weekday lunch. It was quiet and relaxing. Menu is 2 small pages- easy and simple. I tried the calamari appetizer which was ok. I don't think I would order it again I also ordered the $23 combo deal hot bag. You can chose 3 of four options of clams, mussels, shrimp and crawfish. It comes with 2 small potatoes and 2 pieces of corn. You can chose 3 options of seasoning - I chose the Louisiana Cajun spice . You can also choose range from mild, medium and spicy. $2 bucks if you want the shrimps heads off . $23 is perfect for meal. I didn't have much of the appetizer but next time I would only order the combo. Very filing to me . Didn't eat the corn but overall pretty tasty You get a garbage pail and few utensils if you need to retrieve the seafood. They also give you plastic gloves if you want to use instead of bare hands ( I didn't use them- I need bare skin lol) I would come back again to check it out

I've driven past this restaurant all my life and never noticed it. My brother was the one who found it and it was soo good. We love seafood, it's a lot of food nice service and it's a small quiet area which is nice. I would say the price is what you expect for all that seafood worth it!

I came here with my mom and my sister. My sister and I decided to go with the 8 Piece Fried Shrimp Basket and my mom got the 4 Piece Fried Fish Flounder Basket. Fried Shrimp Basket- I thought that the shrimp was good but I do have to say I've had better. I also did get Cajun fries but my fries tasted like regular fries. My sister said she thought it was okay and would rate it a 3/5. The Fried Fish Flounder: I tried some of my moms flounder and I thought it was much better than my shrimp. If I were to come back I would most likely just get that because it tasted really flavorful and fresh. My mom said it was a 3/5. The food itself was ok but I don't think I would come back again. The service was also very bad and there was only one server around and the whole time she just sat in the back table on her phone and never checked on us or how our food was. She also never refilled our waters so we basically had to scream to get her attention LOL

Sometimes dinner is eaten with fork and knife, sometimes Chopsticks and sometimes ya roll up your sleeves and dive in with bare hands! Tonight i ate at The Cajun Crab Louisiana Seafood and while plastic gloves were offered, I chose to live on the edge and use my hands. It was therapeutic and primal and delicious to boot! At The Cajun Crab, you choose your seafood first. They offer Clams, Head on Shrimp, Mussels, Crawfish, Scallops, Lobster and Snow Crab. Then you choose a flavor...Louisiana Cajun, Asian Garlic Sauce, or Lemon Pepper...and finally your level of Spice. I was dining alone so I chose a combo deal that was perfect for one. You choose 3 proteins out of 5 so i chose the Clams, The head on Shrimp (for 2 bucks more they'll remove the heads, but i love the heads on) and the Crawfish. 1/2 pound of each. It also came with 2 potatoes sliced Sausage and 2 half ears of corn. I went Cajun and extra spicy all for $23! The seafood was all cooked perfectly. I should mention that the Crawfish were frozen because hey, it's the middle of the winter in NJ and it's not Crawfish season yet. The owner Jinny, is as kind and nice as can be. She ran a fish market in this very space and decided to change it to a seafood boil restaurant, a savvy move and its paying off! So if you like seafood and aren't afraid to play with your food, this is the spot for you! The Cajun Crab is located at 789 US Highway 22 West North Plainfield, NJ

Great place to gorge on seafood with your friends. You get crab crushers, rolls of paper towels and plastic bibs with lobsters printed on them... Everything you need to really get dug into a huge bowl of shellfish. The boiled and sauced seafood combos are the main attraction. Make sure you get the snow crab legs and dip them back into that buttery cajun spiced sauce. And get some cajun fries and dip those in too! Portions are beyond generous. And it's BYOB.

All I can say is wow !!! This food was so amazing ! I came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch with my friend. We split the Snow Crab combo. We each ended up paying $33 and that included a 20% tip. We got the Cajun seasoning with the least amount of spice. The food and seasoning was delicious and everything came super fast. We paid $2 to have headless shrimp. I am not a huge fan of corn, but even the corn was AMAZING. My only complaint was that we were served tap water that neither of us drank because it was disgusting. Other than that, everything was great !

I usually go to the boil in Dunellen but i wanted to try this place out since it just opened. The staff was super attentive and very friendly. The decor was cute. We ordered shrimp and mussels for the seafood. Also ordered fries and fried crab meat. Fries were good. Fried crabmeat tasted very fishy but i think it was because it was imitation crab. The seafood itself was good but the sauces had WAY too much butter. I like butter but not in the amount they give you. I felt all i could taste was the butter and not the flavor of the sauce. I stopped eating after a while because i started feeling sick....... I usually finish all the seafood i get but i just couldnt finish it due to the butter. Unfortunately once i got home, it didnt settle well with my stomach and i had to take multiple trips to the bathroom (TMI I'm sorry lol) Would i come back? Only if they change their sauces. But if they dont, then i wont be back and will stick to the on in Dunellen.

Good place and we probably go back there again. The staff are very friendly and very attentive. We got middle size combo of shrimp, crawfish and mussels in cajun spicy sauce which was very generous portion. Spiciness we chose was mild, but it had some kick to it. We also ordered hushpuppies and white rice. Its very messy to eat, we expected that. Food was very tasty and good. Very spacious place with many tables. I will recommend this for good seafood and experience.

Don't do it! They sent less than half pound for $18... LESS THAN! I weighed it. I should have just ordered from Joe's Crab Shack.

If you like spice go for the authentic Louisiana Cajun extra spicy version. It's totally worth the experience. A perfect southern feel!

My wife and I have been romancing the idea of a trip to Jessica's for months. Are we classy enough?…read moreCan our simple palettes appreciate the medley of flavors throughout the menu? We decided it was worth the gamble, and boy did we hit the jackpot. We loved the BYOB option, proudly flaunting local beers while most tables had a bougie bin of ice helping to chill their wines. As we sipped on our own version of bubbly, we started with a couple of delicious appetizers - meatballs and fried burrata. While both were great, the meatballs were the clear winner, served hot in a small cast iron skillet. Moving to the main course, the pasta ragu was another hit. It had a bit of a peppery undertone, but wasn't spicy, just a wonderful blend of spices that gave it a unique flavor. For dessert, I had an apple-based dish that was a special that night. While again another creative showing, I think I'd stick to some of the simpler options on the menu (like a Caramelized banana split - YES PLEASE)

Enjoyed an evening for Father's Day tonight. Ambiance was nice and the staff were pleasant. No…read morecocktails, just wine by the bottle (half or whole). Funny thing: drinks menu is on the dessert menu not the main menu. We ordered the grilled octopus to share. It had a good amount of char and was tender. The beet salad was decent, a bit overdressed. The mushroom soup was creamy and strong in flavor (a good thing). For entree, we had the entree size lump crab crepe, braised short rib, filet mignon and seafood fettuccine. Depending on who you asked, everyone preferred their dish over the other. The lump crab crepe had enough crab meat and shiitake mushrooms to be filling, and was served in a satiny cream sauce. The filet was cooked to order and served with scalloped potatoes that had a nice parmesan flavor. The braised short rib was very tender albeit a small portion, served with silky mashed potatoes and baby carrots. The seafood fettuccine has a little kick and ample seafood, like mussels, prawns, scallops and squid. Outside of the menu, they also have prime rib and a tomahawk steak for 2. We finished the evening with their special lemon tart - definitely tart and lemony - in a shortbread crust and 2 orders of molten lava cake with raspberry coulis and vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious and we will definitely come back.
