Second time coming here. Service is good. Drinks were good. I ordered the mussel beach seafood boil and added clams. The Cajun house mix sauce is on the saltier side, but I'm fine with it because I like salty. Paired it up with Calamari. Second time I came I ordered the naked shrimp and added corn and sausage. I like the fried vanilla ice cream, it comes with cinnamon crisps that tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

3lbs whole shrimp, Cajun,in platter versus the bag since we were gonna be sharing.

If you're looking for a place in the city of it should be more park. We took out our coworker for lunch. We're all craving and Cajun food or look no further great staff, clean area. Lots of parking, amazing food. We enjoyed the oysters and shrimp occasion shrimp, side of rice, add some sausage to the shrimp de Michi mix Yummy.

I'm from Orange County but I come to Thousand Oaks VERY OFTEN to visit relatives attending CalLu. One of my favorite restaurants around CalLutheran is Cajun Crab Shack. The food is flavorful, colorful and plentiful. The restaurant has a bar, but my favorite drink is the unsweetened iced tea. The restaurant is spacious, plenty of room for large parties. They also have a patio area for those that enjoy eating outside. The service is always accurate and timely, the only pet peeve I have about this place, is that so far, I have never experienced a smile from the staff, everyone is always serious making the experience less welcoming. We are a people first industry, therefore there is nothing more personal that a connection that comes from a genuine smile.

My friend and I were in Thousand Oaks and wanted to have some boiling crab but it was a bit far however we stumbled upon this crab place and decided to give it a try. It was actually good. Something close and with good pricing which was good. I still love boiling crab but this I would rate 4/5. My friend and I had potatoes corn rice and the mix. I would return again

A review

This was by far the worst crawfish I have ever had. The crawfish tasted old, stale, and had an awful flavor completely inedible. To make matters worse, the pricing was dishonest. Online it clearly says $12 per pound, but when I went to pick up my order, I was charged $24 per pound. That's DOUBLE the advertised price. And by no means am I picky eater I'm practically a garbage disposal. Not only was the food terrible, but I walked away paying the most I've ever been charged at a seafood restaurant for the worst quality I've ever experienced. If you're going to charge an absurd amount, at least make sure the food is edible. Overall, an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. Negative stars don't waste your money.

Cajun Crab Shack is amazing!! The food was incredible, and Antonio provided fast, friendly service. I had the Clams Ahoy seafood combo, and my fiancé loved the Shrimp Scampi Pasta. My dad had the Red Snapper Fish Plate, and we all shared the Beef Nachos, which were delicious. My sister loved the Shrimp Fajita, and the Micheladas are hands down the best we've ever had, you have to try it! The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. They stream the sports games, which adds to the fun, and the full bar is a great touch. We can't wait to come back and try more of their amazing food! Highly recommend! :)

Are they doing dine in too outside? They had several tables out there so wondering why it's delivery and take out only.

Yes. There are a few tables outside with plenty of space between them.

How much is a normal meal? The menu is $ per pound so I can't really tell.

It was $19 for the shrimp meal. I believe it was a pound.

Seems as if this restaurant doesn't need my help... nevertheless I'm going to say what needs to be…read moresaid because it deserves to be said. West of Orleans is the real deal; an institution that meets, excels, devastates all notions of what Cajun/Creole/BBQ cuisine can or should accomplish to stand out amongst the rest of the competition. And with how high they stand, all should recognize. With a menu as expansive as most, West of Orleans manages to offer their patrons all of the classics seen with most other restaurants of the same variety, but with so much more... But onto the food. It's true to its word. Fresh, delicate, light, harmonious in every sense of the word. Flavorful beyond flavor. The PoBoy was delicious, as the shrimp popped, the remoulade sauce incredible, tangy and sweet but not overpowering. The Jerk Chicken Mac-n-Cheese was the perfect pair between savory and succulence. Not too spicy, not too smoky, just enough of everything. The macaroni held up its half of the bargain as well. Currently planning my next experience here. Stay tuned.

From the moment you walk in, that amazing smell hits you like no other! Marcus, the owner, treated us like you're a regular, even on our first visit. Marcus was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the menu. And the food? Absolutely next level. Marcus gave us samples of the chicken gumbo and from the moment it touched my tongue, I was sold. I got a 32 ounce Gumbo and let me tell you, it was plenty. Everything was perfectly seasoned and packed full with some much pride and flavor. You could tell Marcus and his wife are passionate about their business and the product they're putting out. In addition to the chicken gumbo, I got the cornbread with the honey butter. Let me tell you something, I must've died and went to heaven. One of my friends' grandmothers made corn bread back in the day and this made me think of those times. The cornbread wasn't dry and the honey butter just amplified it to the next level. My friends got the brisket po'boys and they were blown away by the flavor. The sandwich was packed full of brisket and was seasoned to perfection. We will definitely be back for another round as this was the best meal we've had in a while. Thank you Marcus!

I ordered the Fried Catfish Combo, which comes with fries, and it did not disappoint. The catfish was seasoned perfectly and fried to perfection, crispy on the outside with a moist, juicy center that packed a ton of flavor in every bite. You can tell they know what they're doing when it comes to Cajun style cooking. The fries were just as impressive, coated in Cajun seasoning that gave them a nice kick without overpowering the meal. Everything paired really well with their house dipping sauce and a splash of hot sauce, bringing it all together. What really stood out was the service. The cashier and owner provided great customer service, taking the time to explain the menu and answer any questions. You can also tell the food is made fresh, everything is fried to order, not just sitting under a heating lamp, which makes a huge difference in quality. This is a must stop visit if you are ever in the area. For a food court spot, this place delivers bold, authentic flavors that truly stand out.

That side is named Kusina Ni Kuya and has a vast catering menu. I came here for a carry out from the Cajun side and picked as I did before, the half pound shrimp. The only difference is this time, I opted for the peeled version. This was prepared in the house Kuya sauce, medium spicy, with an extra of boiled okra. The dish did not disappoint and was consistent in texture and flavor, and a glorious mixture of spices as before. This entrée has a lot of oil added to it, but that is what brings out this burst of taste and satisfaction. Everything was soaked with the thick sauce. This time what I did at home was, I boiled a few golden premium small potatoes with skin, sliced them into quarters and added it to the mix. Once it soaked up the gravy of the shrimp dish, the potatoes ascended to a totally different level. So how does the peeled version compare to the whole shrimp version? I would say that the whole shrimp selection is the way to go. The meat is not overcooked and you get the flavor off the shrimp shells too, that kicks it up more than a notch. In addition, the fact that you have to use your fingers to get to the shrimp meat (though messy), heightens the pleasure of the dining experience.
