Fishbone Seafood has officially open and is serving up Southern comfort & Cajun-inspired soul food. I had the fried catfish and shrimp combo plate which was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Don't sleep on their homemade dill tartar sauce! The hush puppies were some of the best I've had in these parts, and the collard greens tasted like true home cooking. I love that the collard greens were slightly salty and very flavorful. A good traditional collard greens. As for the fried catfish, phenomenal. Super light and crispy, perfect white meat fish (not gritty or dark). What really stood out though was the genuine warmth of the service. I was actually their first customer of the day and they surprised me with a slice of sweet potato pie. The staff took the time to chat with me, made me feel at home, and even walked me out, opening the door and helping me with my bag full of food. That kind of care is rare these days and I can safely say service is a 10/10. I felt that prices were reasonable for the amount of food given. This is def a tucked away spot and I hope more people find them. I really want a spot like this to make it and as they are new I really want them to feel welcomed and to have a good turn out. Parking was easy at lunchtime and the interior was clean and open. I opted to take my food Togo but they did have a few tables and high tops for dinning in. I'll definitely be back :)

Staff was really friendly and attentive. It was quiet, likely because we came by just after opening. I wasn't sure what fish to pick and asked to be surprised and they didn't disappoint. It was the red snapper and shrimp in the combo. It was fantastic. Up next is the shrimp po boy for next time

Just look at the food. It's so yummy honestly. I love that the batter isn't too heavy

A new seafood restaurant in town, had to check it out. Apparently, there are many other stores around Los Angeles, I had no idea. The prices are reasonable and the taste is good! I had the fish dinner (catfish) and it was more than enough for me alone, I saved half for lunch tomorrow. I live very close to the store and went straight home to enjoy my meal. I had to warm it up slightly. The red beans and rice and potato salad were very good. The peach Cobbler I'd skip next time. It was a pie filling with a bit of crust on top, nothing too exciting. I'll definitely be back, I'd like to try the other sides and the red snapper.

West of Orleans is the real deal; an institution that meets, excels, devastates all notions of what Cajun/Creole/BBQ cuisine can or should accomplish to stand out amongst the rest of the competition. And with how high they stand, all should recognize. With a menu as expansive as most, West of Orleans manages to offer their patrons all of the classics seen with most other restaurants of the same variety, but with so much more... But onto the food. It's true to its word. Fresh, delicate, light, harmonious in every sense of the word. Flavorful beyond flavor. The PoBoy was delicious, as the shrimp popped, the remoulade sauce incredible, tangy and sweet but not overpowering. The Jerk Chicken Mac-n-Cheese was the perfect pair between savory and succulence. Not too spicy, not too smoky, just enough of everything. The macaroni held up its half of the bargain as well. Currently planning my next experience here. Stay tuned.

From the moment you walk in, that amazing smell hits you like no other! Marcus, the owner, treated us like you're a regular, even on our first visit. Marcus was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the menu. And the food? Absolutely next level. Marcus gave us samples of the chicken gumbo and from the moment it touched my tongue, I was sold. I got a 32 ounce Gumbo and let me tell you, it was plenty. Everything was perfectly seasoned and packed full with some much pride and flavor. You could tell Marcus and his wife are passionate about their business and the product they're putting out. In addition to the chicken gumbo, I got the cornbread with the honey butter. Let me tell you something, I must've died and went to heaven. One of my friends' grandmothers made corn bread back in the day and this made me think of those times. The cornbread wasn't dry and the honey butter just amplified it to the next level. My friends got the brisket po'boys and they were blown away by the flavor. The sandwich was packed full of brisket and was seasoned to perfection. We will definitely be back for another round as this was the best meal we've had in a while. Thank you Marcus!

The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is so caring and friendly, and the atmosphere is very chill. It seems that there is currently some outside remodeling going on, but the restaurant is still open. My husband ordered the red curry with chicken. We agreed that it was delicious. I ordered the Thai Chow Mein and would have definitely asked for another order if I hadn't eaten a whole order of Fresh Rolls by myself lol (I was starving and they came out first, these were only okay in my opinion)! We ordered Sa-te chicken for my toddler, but she was being a little picky today. One of the servers attempted to bribe her to eat her food by promising her a scoop of ice cream. That motivated her to try again, but ultimately she didn't like the chicken. We thought it was delicious though. She still got her ice cream. We were sad to see that our favorite server wasn't working today, but we were still happy with our visit! I used to like this place some what but the guy in there is different, he had an attitude while naming off my items and showing me what I got, they put cat fish in my bag and told him I didn't get that and said I did, and then I pointed out the receipt stapled on the bag and not even an apology! Then forgot my yams anyways. This place needs new staff whole heartedly even saw him arguing with someone else in the back. HE DOES NOT NEEED OR SHOULD NOT BE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. Amen. They're pretty straight forward with the options being mainly: fish and chips, popcorn shrimp, and clam chowder. We got one order of the fish and chips and one order of the popcorn shrimp. Not more than fountain drinks though, and no dessert (however, they do have some pieces of taffy at the cash register!) We waited about 10 minutes for our meal to-go and got sauce to-go, as well. The food was pretty good! The fish and chips is a lot like how Malibu Seafood's are, and the pop shrimp was good, other than the fact the batter was quite thick or the shrimp wad quite small. It is a more plain dish, so dipping sauces, seasoning, and lemon slices are strongly recommended. The ambiance inside was good - quiet with a small work crew and not too busy. They could definitely gain more attention from the younger crowd and not just older folks by updating their menu a bit and freshening it up and/ or adding things like a rewards card, especially after being here for so long.
