We were a party of six and all of us were not happy with the food. I couldn't enjoy the food because the spice was to overwhelming. It was gritty as though the food didn't get the time to meld long enough to come together it was super salty. Also way too much garlic. I'm a garlic lover but it was so overpowering that I had the smell of garlic for a couple of days. Really upset my stomach. The sides were not fresh. I believe everything was from the freezer and dumped in the fryer as ordered. I asked the waitress if the okra was coated in cornmeal and fried. She had no idea. My son chimed in and said mom it's not like they have a chef in the back cooking up your meal. They are grabbing from the freezer and frying it up. Same with the shrimp. The place was pretty much empty and the service was pretty poor. It was my granddaughters birthday and she got a kick out of a robot who brought out her birthday dessert. The waitress didn't bother to ask anyone else if they would like dessert so her younger sister who was 10 had to sit and watch her sister have her sweets and didn't get the opportunity to have the same experience. Today was my second time having dripping crab but the first time in person. The first time was via DoorDash and I enjoyed my crawfish so I convinced my husband to go back today to try in person since we would make it for happy hour as well. We ordered combo #1 which comes with 3lbs of seafood (we chose head on shrimp, clams, and crawfish) with potatoes, corn, and sausage. I think the sauce is tasty and I like that it's thick. It comes with a lot of sauce too, each piece is very well coated. I ordered extra sauce on the side and I really appreciate that they fill up that bowl! We ordered Kumamoto oysters and I must admit.. It was the ugliest presentation of oysters I've ever come across lol. It caught me off guard tbh so I didn't even have one bc it was not appetizing nor appealing to the eyes (and I love raw oysters)! My husband said it was fresh so that's good to hear. Then we ordered soft shell crab that my husband also enjoyed. Lastly, we did order garlic noodles and lemonade per Yelp reviews/recommendations. Unfortunately, they were not impressive. The only reason I give 4 stars is bc there was no hand soap in the bathroom at all. I like to wash my hands before eating, especially something like Cajun where you'll use your hands. And service was very very mid - not terrible nor great. Also this is the first time I've come to a Cajun restaurant where they don't pack your food up for you. It was very messy to pack up due to all the oil/butter. And when you consider that there was not hand wash soap to begin with.. Overall, I just really was turned off by service and not so much the food. Btw, we still tipped 20% on a $100 bill. I do still think everyone should try this restaurant and if someone were to ask me, I would recommend this establishment over captain crab. read more

Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and found out that they just opened a week ago. We ordered the Grand Opening Special in mild house sauce (delicious), pacific oysters, and coleslaws. Everything was cooked perfectly and tastes great. The staff was nice and helpful. The only reason why I couldn't give them 5-stars is bc the ladies' restroom was a mess in all the stalls. It looks like several businesses share the restrooms, so I don't know who's in charge of keeping the restrooms clean. Unfortunately, I do rate restaurants and eating establishments by how clean they keep their restrooms. This one was really not up to par. read more

This place was really good. Not the best Ive ever had but really good. They unfortunately overcooked the shrimp and textured was too gummy. The New Orleans flavor is good. The crawfish was decent, the flavor was there but not enough and they seem a little undercooked. The garlic noodles were eatable and not the ideal noodles to use. I came in the other day and had a horrible experience I wanted to try a new seafood spot and had a very bad service. When I first walked in I was greeted very nicely by the hostess, and we had a server name z I'm guessing she had a pin on her shirt that had the letter Z. She came took our order brought our food and only checked up on us once and disappeared we had to walk up to the front to ask for togo bags and our check. Full of mouth watering flavors and you WILL not leave unsatisfied, we shared between 3 adults and cost was $90 so that's not bad at allllll. Our waiter was amazing!! He handled us so well especially because my sissy was a little intoxicated. He did an amazing job with not only is but those around us. It's very cute inside but because it's fairly new seemed a little empty but still very seafood vibes ahaha but they did have some great music playing, soft hip hop and a little slow jams. Wow, felt like we got fine dining level service, our server Mo made our day, this was our first ever boil so we have a bunch of questions, we really didnt know much, Mo explained the combos and the boil, really nice to have people like him who are patient, welcoming and have great customer service skills when dining, everything was seamless and we were always being checked on, the recommendation for spice and heat level he made for first timers like us was awesome, it wasn't to spicy but just right and savory. I ended up having the combo 2, and my girlfriend ate with me. We will be returning next Friday for date night and Sunday with the family and asking for him. read more

My bride and I decided to try this new (new to us) place. From the momment we entered the door we were treated like king/queen. Place was clean and bright. Very nice ambience. I hope this place does well and the menu grows. I had the cat Po'Boy sandwich w/ fries and soft shell crab. Friend had the cat fish basket and oysters. Food was fresh with plenty of flavor. I will say I wish the po'boy came with all the toppings as shown on their menu. Mine didn't come with onion (I like zest with my fish) but the sauce that came on it didn't disappoint. Finally a good seafood spot in Stockton! Our usual go-to spot is of course, boiling crab in Sac. We have some other spots in Stockton but it just doesn't hit like sac does, so we'd still make the drive out there. Me and my lady had our typical order of shrimp, sausages, fried calamari, Cajun fries, and rice. 10/10 amazing! So much sauce and great flavor. In my opinion, way better than the top spots in Sacramento. Some advice, don't change how y'all prepare the food. As years went by, we noticed that boiling crab started being stingy with their boil sauce and you had to pay to make it extra saucy. Almost felt like their flavors started tasting watered down. I love how it's still new and there are no wait times, but I hope this business thrives and is here to stay for the long run. My husband and I came here since Stockton seems to be short of good crab places to eat at. My initial reaction to the restaurant was that it felt bleak to say the least. The service was great and our server was so fun and made sure that we were taken care of. However, the ambiance felt...empty? We both ordered the special combos with house sauce ( I got mine spicy and my husband ordered mild). The spice level was pretty good and the overall seasoning was good until the end. By the time I got to the bottom of my combo the salt level was just way too much. I started grimacing and had to stop eating because I swore my blood pressure was going up lol. In addition to the combos, we ordered seasoned fries and calamari. You can tell the calamari was frozen from the bag and so were the fries. Overall I'd say my experience was mediocre. read more

That is a good sign. We then sat down to order we ordered the number 3 combo not cleaned. I was taken back when they asked if we wanted it cleaned, half or uncleaned. We chose not cleaned ! We order 6 raw oysters, they come cleaned and already lose ready to eat. They only carry two sauces, Tabasco and Cholula. We also order gumbo with rice on the side so we could get an actual taste of it. The gumbo was my least favorite. The flavor wasn't as strong and it was very watery. I like mine more like a gravy. I also order lemon pepper fries they were fresh! Very crunchy full of air and hot to the touch best part they had seasoning !!! Already a stand out from captain crab ! I mean who offers you a whole crab? Who gives you what you pay for ? It's hard to find this anymore very please this place does. The muscle were very large (green) great fresh could can clearly taste the difference. Shrimp well we all know shrimp is shrimp and it was great. What really made me like this place even more is the sauce. Although it is sweeter than captain crab it's the chunks of garlic you bite when you eat! I love garlic so that was a highlight for me. It was freshly chopped. Something captain crab use to do but now they don't. I really enjoyed their food over all. I hope they are here to stay. I definitely will be going back. Great Service, Great Food, and the ambiance in this restaurant is amazing. I'm a Stockton local, and I remember what this place use to look like before it became the Dripping Crab. This place is leaps and bounds better than it looked before. The restaurant is large with a lot of seating, and the tables are spread out enough to allow you to enjoy the friends/family you're enjoying your meal with. We were greeting by a friendly hostess and the owner of the restaurant seated our party of 10, checking on us frequently to make sure that we were all enjoying ourselves. And our waitress was very friendly and attentive; making sure that our glasses were full and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meals. The seafood was very fresh, and very flavorful. I had the soft crab po' boy, my daughter had the Combo #2 House Special with garlic butter sauces, and my son had the fried shrimp basket with fries.
