I have been couple of times to Cajun Kitchen at Goleta but it was not much satisfying as compared to one at Santa Barbara. I haven't tried all the menu at this place but I do eat chicken or salmon salad every time I get there. To be specific their quality is same but the problem is with quantity. Cajun kitchen at Santa Barbara servers really good quantity on their various salads such as chicken, shrimp, and salmon. At Goleta I have experienced that the quantity is almost half of what they server at SB such as small piece of salmon, chicken, etc. I think they should improve their standards because being a franchise there shouldn't be any difference in quality and quantity at any of their restaurants. read more

I love Cajun Kitchen, I've been to many locations and they all have great food. They all also have a few elements of less than stellar service. I don't know what it is, but every one of their locations I go to, I have to ask two or three times for water, to go boxes and stuff like that. The waitresses are all super friendly, though, so I don't particularly mind. I just find it funny that it's been a common experience at the different locations in two student towns. read more

The only possible complaint I could have is service, which can be spotty, but foodwise? This place is excellent. Things I've had that I'd recommend: biscuits and gravy, jambalaya, beignets, huevos rancheros, Roz's omelet, pancakes. I try to avoid their scrambles and omelettes with mushrooms, because they taste canned. But otherwise? Great breakfast/lunch place. I wish they were open for dinner so I could have their jambalaya whenever I wanted it. read more

Pros: prompt, courteous service, pretty good coffee Cons: Huevos rancheros was grim. Not sure what the meat was - but it was quite unappetizing, I have never seen rice in Huevos Rancheros and it added little to the texture or flavor. Pancakes were dry. read more

Its not easy to find but definitely a must for breakfast. We had the chilequiles and the Apple Chicken sausage and eggs and were impressed. The Chilequiles were incredible -- freshly made chips with wonderful eggs and andouille sausage -- one of the best I've had. The sausage and eggs were also done very well. Went there yesterday for breakfast. Delicious, as always. I would give 5 stars for that. But the absolutely, ridiculously long wait, sitting on those benches outside. My gosh, we sat out there for 30 mins at least, then once inside, had to wait for another 15 or 20 to have our orders taken, and another long wait to get the check. Owner really needs to consider a larger property, more wait staff, or at least look at more ways to move things along more expeditiously. read more

Delicious food, huge portions, great price, good location. I ate here last weekend with a friend from out of town...we wanted brunch, my roommate suggested this Cajun Kitchen. At first we were like, "Cajun food for brunch?" but then we realized that Cajun food is delicious regardless of the time of day, so off we went. My friend ordered catfish with eggs, hash browns, toast, and I got the gumbo. We both went with the cornbread for our side. Holy cow...so much food. I'm a plate-clearer, but even my massive appetite had trouble finishing the HUGE bowl of gumbo I got. Seriously, it was a massive portion with tons of seafood for under $10. I have dreams about it. My friend devoured his fish and said it was fantastic (and that he wanted to make love to the cornbread). My gumbo was amazing. I would have preferred it a little spicier, but there was honestly nothing to complain about. All of the seafood in the dish was perfectly cooked, and the different pieces of fish retained their individual flavors. It was excellent. Stack of blueberry pancakes, real maple syrup, wheat germ sprinkled all over topped with creamy butter= delicious breakfast! The home fries are great, as well as the eggs benedict with crabcakes! Great service- staff always consistent and caring. If the coffee was better (meaning tastier and stronger), I would give it a five. This is a perfectly fine place for breakfast or lunch, and they have great biscuits and eggs. It is not organic or trendy or anything like that - similar to Denny's but with more homemade food. I like all three of their locations. However, they are so popular that they are always a little stressed and the wait can be quite long on a weekend morning. I also wish they would go for a slightly higher-quality cooking oil. But if you want to go out to breakfast, you can always go to Cajun. read more

Just had the misfortune of eating at this establishment. To start off the meat patty for my patty melt was a pressed and frozen patty, no flavor and a horrible spoung texture, the bacon tasted like it was atleast a day old and the fries where over cooked and cold. The manager was only pleasant to certain type of people. We were waiting for service and here comes two guys from some sort of military and the manager right away asked if they needed a drink. Thirty minutes later the manager went to their table to see how their food was. Not once did the manager greeted us and we were right next to those two guys (military). I don't think the manager realizes that all humans that attend the restaurant are equal and we all pay him to be pleasant to everyone. I wanted to love this place after reading all the reviews but I was very disappointed with the order that our food was delivered. For a party of 3 our food was delivered over a span of 15 minutes so we all ate at different times. I ordered the fried chicken eggs benedict and it was the last plate to be delivered. By the time the dish came I was already very upset because my husband had already finished his breakfast and my daughter was half way through her order of pancakes. When the plate was put in front of me I was then informed that the hash browns were coming out later because they weren't ready yet. WTF!! It's Saturday morning, you have a 40 minute wait every weekend and the hash browns aren't ready when the plate is served 15 minutes after the first plate is served? I would have given 1 star but the waitress could tell I was pissed and took my meal off the ticket. The food was good, my husband had the eggs and andouille sausage and my daughter had the chocolate chip pancakes. I wish the breading on the fried chicken could have been crispier. The bacon was thick and the eggs were cooked well. I would like to go back but will try a weekday next time. read more

Between the hair in my food and the spoiled cream in my coffee, this restaurant has a lot to learn about service. I have been here many times but my last experience is to be the last of my experiences. I cannot stomach the reality of paying for food that is tainted with impurity. The only pro to this place is that their alcoholic beverages are strong which to many might be enough to deal with the restaurant 's inadequacies, but not enough for me. If you have the choice to go somewhere else, please do yourself the favor and do so. DIRTY, GROSS, and DISGUSTING should not be adjectives used to described the place you are eating but at Cajun Kitchen they are...please save yourself and go somewhere else and save yourself the trouble by eating elsewhere. read more

Cajun Kitchen Cafe is a great place to grab breakfast! The wait is typically around 15-20 minutes so be sure to get there early! Parking in plentiful so thats never an issue. They have hearty portions at a very reasonable price. Most recently I had the chorizo and sausage omelette topped with avocados and served with toast and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns here are so good! Extremely upset and disappointed at the service that was given by your server today to my husband and his fellow veterans club members . Today my husband who is a Veteran along with his Veteran members went to Cajun kitchen on Hollister to host a WW2 Veteran for breakfast. They were seated and ordered coffee but had a little wait bc the Guest of honor had gone to the wrong location. Your server was upset that they hadn't ordered and made her "wait" to take orders after they explained that they were waiting on someone. Began to mumble and complain to her coworkers that they weren't ordering and taking too long. Even after the other Cajun restaurant called to inform they had someone on their way. The restaurant was NOT packed and she had one other table that had two ppl to wait on. This is NOT ok service and they WW2 veteran is 92 years old and the the Veterans do not deserve to be treated this way. The server began to speak in Spanish and complain and talk about them not knowing my husband understands and speaks Spanish. This is a shame ! Of all places that Santa Barbara has they chose to go here. Big mistake ! Will NOT be returning again. read more
