We came here around 10 p.m. mainly because this place is one of the few spots open late that serves shrimp boil. The restaurant itself looks pretty nice inside with newer booths and a clean atmosphere. The vibe is casual but still nice enough that you could easily come here for a date or a relaxed night out. The layout and ambiance felt comfortable, and overall the place seemed well-maintained. Parking is a little confusing. They have a $3 valet fee, but it's mostly self-parking unless the lot is really full. What was frustrating is that after 10 p.m., valet usually leaves and parking is free -- or at least that's what they've done before. But this time, even though it was after 10, the valet staff still made us pay before quickly packing up, which felt like they were milking the charge even though no one was really there to provide the service. The food is the main reason we keep coming back. We ordered snow crab legs and one pound of peeled shrimp with their spicy "Bang-Bang-Bang" sauce for about $58, plus another pound of peeled shrimp with white rice for $24. We also had two orders of steamed chicken dumplings for $24, which ended up being what my son ate since they don't have a kids' menu. Drinks were two cans of soda at $3 each and a Thai iced coffee for $5, plus two boiled eggs for $3.50. The shrimp boil was tasty as always, and the complimentary salsa-like sauce on the side was a nice touch. While the food portions were decent, the prices do add up quickly. Service was where things got frustrating. There was only one waitress, Nirin, for the whole floor, and we had to flag her down multiple times. She forgot to bring the Thai iced coffee we ordered and initially denied that we requested it, even though we saw her write it down. Napkins were minimal, which isn't great for a messy seafood boil. When it came time to pay, things got tense -- after paying cash for part of the bill, she insisted the rest of the payments had to be split evenly across cards, refusing to let us pay different amounts on separate cards. We've done this before at this location without issues, and we explained that we usually tell them at the end because we're not sure if it causes more hassle upfront. When we asked for a manager, she said there wasn't one available, which is concerning for a restaurant this size. Regarding the gratuity, we didn't mind paying the automatic 18% service charge that was added to our $185 bill, but the breakdown was confusing. There was also a $7.53 processing fee, and the receipt still suggested leaving an additional tip on top (18-22%), which felt excessive. The staff didn't consider the service charge as a tip, putting customers in an awkward spot. The waitress insisted that our 10-year-old counted toward the party minimum for the gratuity, even though there's no kids' menu. We brought up, just once at the beginning, that if they're going to count kids, they should really offer a kid's meal. She took offense to that and kept repeating it later, even though we weren't arguing about the gratuity -- our real issue was about how we wanted to split the bill. The constant mention of "I saw the kid eat" during payment disputes felt unprofessional and off-topic. One more thing: the business seems to operate under multiple names. On the receipt, it's called "Cajun Ayce Crispy Pork Express," but Yelp and other platforms list names like "Cajun Seafood House." They appear to close and reopen under different names, which makes it hard to track reviews or hold them accountable. In summary, the food and late-night hours are great and the main reasons we keep coming back, but the confusing fees, subpar service, and lack of management made this visit stressful. Of course the portions are a little bit smaller because of the price, but I like that because you can order a few more dishes and try some variety. My usual Thai spot down the street was closed so I gave Cajun Seafood House a try. They are located inside new Hollywood plaza in LA's Thai Town neighborhood. Street parking is nearly impossible, but the plaza has plenty of parking for only $3. It's a great night option for Thai food, restaurant hours are 10am -3:30 am. I ordered the fried fish fillet as an appetizer, it was light and crispy; and went well with the dipping sauces. I also had the kung pao chicken over rice and the beef pad see ew. The king pao chicken was delicious; it was just the right level of spicy and the marinade was super flavorful. This is the best Kung pao I've ever had. The beef pad see ew was ok, but not great. However this place does their own delivery. I received the food two hours later (more than an hour late). The driver called and demanded I come outside and get the food, when I asked for contactless delivery. The food was cold and disgusting. I contacted Grubhub to complain and they issued me a refund. Which was great. I would never order from them again. I normally would not come on Yelp to complain. However, I felt I need to let people know so they do not get mistreated too. I ordered fried rice combination with BEEF (though I asked for no beef) chicken, pork and shrimp. What I received was TWO pieces of shrimp, probably eight pieces of chicken with BEEF and 0 pork. So essentially I was charged $16 with a dish full of rice and the cheapest meat on the planet, which is CHICKEN, With NO PORK and what you're asked them to take out. That is highway robbery... Actually pretty good! Note: my friend and I went for weekend lunch buffet so didn't go for the cajun boil. There's a wide variety of food to choose from, its difficult to make a decision, even when it's a buffet! The Thai sausage okay, maybe slightly oilier than ones at other restaurants but just as flavorful. Curry was great. The food felt like it was made to order which was nice. They do cater to a more mainstream crowd as well, serving crab rangoons and Chinese dishes that you'd find at Panda Express, so there's definitely a dish for everyone. Really enjoyed the ruam mit (kind of like sweet dessert noodles) but disappointed they ran out of the mango sticky rice and fried bananas. This unassuming spot in Thai Town has a pan - asian type menu complete with pho, orange chicken and pad Thai. I'm curious to what their kitchen looks like with various pots and seasons scattered about. My friend discovered this spot for their authentic Lao style papaya salad which is less sweet and more pungent. You can see how dark the sauce is. You can see the mirk and flavor that is specific to Laos. I added some blue crab making it $15.95. This dish is salty and amazing. It's a great experience for those who are looking for a different version of the beloved Thai style papaya salad. The Tom Yum Pork Noodle (8.95) was served in a large bowl and great to share with two people. The Morning Glory (13.95) was standard fare, but a nice add on for fiber. We had: Pan fried mussels Tom kha gai Rad na Pacific seafood platter Ruamitt So about a couple hours after we ate my son got really sick and it turns out he has food poisoning. I REALLY wanted to like this place because being Thai myself and I love to support my local Thai community. Okay so this one is a doozy. I came to this restaurant because the other restaurants I normally frequent (Ruen Pair, and Pa Ord Noodles) were closed. I never ate here because of a few reasons: there were multiple ownership changes which, to me, means they have issues with finances, thus lowering the quality of food/dishes, and just the amount of different dishes is overwhelming enough for someone to just close their eyes and point to something and the dish would still miss its mark. The server came - a woman who was really nice and I believe I had seen her work at another Thai restaurant before, but I digress. I ordered the appetizer shrimp cakes, the beef drunken noodles (mild), and the stir fried Chinese broccoli with pork belly and rice. Let me preface this with the fact that I've had these dishes many times in the course of my life because it's food I grew up with in my own house. The shrimp cake came out first with the drunken noodles. They looked good, on the outside they looked crunchy, but when I tried to slice it with a fork, it couldn't be done. Not even with the spoon. No knife was provided so I stick my fork in it and take a bite - the texture can only be described as something similar to chewing a new piece if gum, except it's the taste of days old, overcooked shrimp. The drunken noodles were as white as paper, and for those who dont know, drunken noodles should have some brown/reddish color to the food. My husband, who ordered the drunken noodles, mentioned that aside from the blandness of the noodles, he felt like he put a fork full of greased up noodles into his mouth. He could only surmise that the person who made it must have been drunk themselves and spilled a vat of oil/grease onto the noodles. I thought he was being overly sensitive, so I tasted it, and he was actually right - the dish was so tasteless and greasy that even after having my dish, I still felt the greasiness lining my mouth. Then my food comes out - the stir fried Chinese broccoli with pork belly and rice. On first observation, I noticed that the Chinese broccoli was indeed stir fried. The pork belly, on the other hand, was not. When I ordered the same dish from Ruen Pair or Pa Ord, everything is stir fried together (except for the rice). This gives the pork belly the full-bodied taste. It was as if they threw the Chinese broccoli in, stir-fried it, and then went "whoops" and threw the pork belly on top. Now, the taste. Well, it's not the best. The rice was super dry, and the sauce on the stir fry was very disappointing. Because the pork belly wasn't cooked with the broccoli, it was very difficult to eat. Why? Because it was super difficult to bite down on due to the hardness of fried pork belly. This place is a bit confusing to me: theyre Cajun Seafood House, but they have pho, Chinese food, Thai food, etc. So it begs the question: is the quality of the food also being affected because of the overwhelming amount of recipes the chef must remember? The reason I gave it two stars is because the woman was pretty nice, considering all the gossip I heard the servers and a table of 2 talk about in Thai. read more

Yeah--I have a thing for fried oysters. Or oysters of any kind. But if it's takeout they'll be fried, and I've been on a lunchtime oyster streak lately so have tried many. For quick takeout, these are still some of the best I've had. I'm not sure why or how because I've ordered from places 3x the price that should objectively be better and would assume can afford better product. Maybe it's in the cooking. But for some reason the ones here always hit that umami, creamy, vague funkiness right on the head. Nothing unusual about them at all--but plump and never overcooked. Steamed shrimp were great too. Once you get your food, they pretty much ignore you, and they don't even ask you the bare minimum a server should ask, like if your food is good and if you need refills. Then they add an 18% service fee when they don't even give you any service in the first place! That's pretty shady business. The worst experience I've ever had!!! I am a nurse and had ordered from them to deliver at the hotel I was at through Grubhub. I never got my delivery. First time we ordered it was great. Got the seafood bucket with cajun sauce. It was delicious and portion was huge.... Second time we ordered from here it was terrible. they forgot the sauce that comes with the boil. We basically recieved a giant bag of boiled seafood which had zero flavor. We called the place and told them what had happened. They sent a driver with some random sauces in those small to-go ramekins. I guess they thought we wouldn't notice that it was still incorrect. Also the ones they gave us were not good on top of everything. Like why give us fish sauce for a cajun boil. Just had my worst experience at this place. I understand that the 'Monday' crew consists of least experienced workers but serving a half-cooked food is overboard! We were so excited to try this place since we love thai and Cajun food. We arrived and got our orders in. There were three other tables at the restaurant. We ordered Tom ka soup which was delicious. We also ordered Pad se Eu and specifically asked for to have chicken and shrimp. No pork or beef. When we got our order we got what it seems like either beef or pork definitely not chicken. We asked the only server an elder lady that our dish has red meat and for religious reason we can't eat that. They took the same order and remade the dish by taking out the red meat. How we know cause when we got it back there was still another piece of red meat in there. Felt disgusted and lost appetite. Cancelled our desert order paid the bill and left. Very disappointing dinner. To top it off on a dish that you charge $17 you give only 3 shrimps. That was the last time we will visit this place. read more
