A friend told me about this place, and I decided to give it a try. It's quickly become one of my favorite spots -- the quality of the fish is amazing, and I'm always impressed every time I come here. Everything tastes super fresh, and you can tell they really care about the ingredients and overall experience. I also love how versatile it is. You can come here for a quick casual dinner, but it's also such a cute spot for a date night. This place is a little gem, the workers/service here are one of the nicest I have encountered in a long time. The sushi here is very fresh and I could definitely see myself come in here on a regular basis, become a local regular. Unfortunately, we do not live nearby so I hope that people take advantage of this establishment and make it their local Sushi spot. The ambiance was a small and quaint little spot. I do have one complaint. Once you enter, it does smell a bit fishy, which I get it, it's a sushi spot, but, I do not really want to smell fishiness in the air right off the bat as you enter... We did 2 Omakase and it was a very nice experience. Was it the nest, no, but it was great. There were few ones I was not a fan of, but, overall a great experience. Also, do the sake pairing and they have an interesting dessert shooter that has Yuzu tequila shot. They do have a ramen spot that I will try when I am in the area. I will be back for sure! read more

Been wanting to try this place for some time but had to wait for the hype to die down. Last time we were here we couldn't get in because there were so many people. I highly recommend you get yourself a reservation because even now for dinner on a Friday night we had to do the standing bar. I've never stood and ate at a restaurant before. It was a nice new experience. The staff is so friendly and they help out with the menu letting you know what their top specials are. My husband got a set menu and it comes with nigiri and hand rolls which was very nice and different. I got the yellowtail sashimi, spicy tuna wonton taco, toro handroll and the staff recommended the salmon tuna with truffle handroll. They said people come travel from out of town for this roll. It makes a lot of sense why. The truffle salmon belly handroll is something else. So umami and the salmon just MELTS into your mouth. Never had anything like it! I love it! I also got their yuzu ice cream dessert. It comes in a little sauce bowl wafer cone. They said to get other flavor it was caramel and yeast and I did try it but I had to change it to the yuzu because I'm more of a fruit girly. The other flavor had too much caramel taste for me since I don't like caramel. But it was light. It's just a personal preference. The restaurant was super accommodating and took it off the check with no issues for us. Anyways so glad I got to try this place out! Def worth a try!!! read more

However, they use really high-quality ingredients, including caviar, truffle, and Uni, which really adds to the whole experience and also the cost. Their hand rolls are a little bit on the smaller side, but I still left feeling pretty satisfied from the meal. I also ordered the yuzuade, which has a really nice, bright, citrus taste, and it's sparkling and homemade. The service here is nice and prompt. I came here on a Friday at noon, and no one was here. I arrived 10 minutes early, because the Yelp waitlist showed an average 50 min wait time, but that was not my experience. They also have one hour free validated parking in the back. read more

Iki Nori keeps proving why it's one of my favorite hand roll spots in LA. Every time I come back the quality is consistent and the whole experience just feels dialed in. The rice is perfectly seasoned and warm, the nori is shatter-crisp, and the fish tastes clean and fresh. Nothing is drowned in sauce so you actually get the natural flavor of everything. The toro and scallop are must orders, but even the "basic" rolls end up being memorable because the balance is so good. The cocktails deserve their own mention because they are seriously that good. Thoughtfully crafted, not overly sweet, and they pair surprisingly well with the hand rolls. It's rare to find a sushi spot where the drinks are just as much of a draw as the food, but Iki Nori nailed it. What really makes this place stand out though is the team. Everyone is genuinely warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they care about the guest experience and it makes the whole meal feel fun and relaxed instead of transactional. The fish quality was incredibly fresh, the aesthetic inside is beautiful, and the staff was hilarious and welcoming. Parking was easy too, with 1-hour validation. I got the Sunset Set plus their limited-time mixed hotate, uni, and toro hand roll featuring Santa Barbara uni, definitely a standout along with the salmon burrata. Everything was delicious and fresh! They take so much care into making each handroll. The fish portion was more than enough and they really didn't cheap out on it. They are run by Indonesians but don't let that stop you from coming. They are super nice and friendly even gave us some freebies :) Not plenty of seats but my 3 people party got seated right away on a weekday night and they make the roll relatively fast too. I can't believe this amazing sushi place has been in my neighborhood for like a year and I'm just now trying it. Iki Nori and Hama Sushi in Little Tokyo have reinvigorated my love of sushi! Heard about this place through instagram so I wanted to check it out. I got a chance to come here on a Saturday night without reservations and had to wait about an hour to get seated. The restaurant is pretty small, so you either wait outside or by the limited seated by the host stand. The parking is also a bit tricky, I think there's limited street parking but we parked in a garage (not free). The restaurant only has bar seating, which is nice if you want a cozy intimate dinner. scallop uni (3/5): The dish was good, but it tasted exactly like the scallop uni hand roll (just without the nori. For some reason, I thought it would have more substance but it tastes exactly like how it sounds: uni on top of scallop. It is light and refreshing, and it does come with a lot of pieces, so it might be a good appetizer to share. caviar toro (6/5): This hand roll was the star of the show. This was first on the hand roll menu and it did not disappoint. Everything about it was amazing, the texture, the flavor, the crispiness of the nori, the caviar. I would honestly come back and just order this hand roll and be more than content. scallop uni hand roll (3/5): This handroll was okay. Like I mentioned, it tasted exactly the same as the scallop uni dish, just with nori. It was good, but it didn't stand out. salmon truffle (4/5): This is my second favorite hand roll here. It was good and the truffle added a nice taste to it. I wish these handrolls were a little bigger, given that it is a bit pricey for what you're getting. However you do taste the quality. I ordered the Kaisen Don with a side of ponzu from Iki Nori in Hollywood via DoorDash, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. I was initially hesitant because, let's be honest, not all sushi holds up well with delivery--but this was spot on. Iki Nori has officially become my go-to, replacing Sugarfish, whose delivery quality just hasn't been the same in the past couple of years. We did the Omakase special on a Monday night and it was absolutely delicious. I believe they have Omakase on other nights, but on Mondays they have a special chef come in. We got an incredible mixture of hand rolls and Nigiri. My favorites were the Waygu hand roll and Kampachi nigiri. The service was so fast and over the top. We enjoyed a special wafer with ice cream for dessert. For a Monday night, it was pretty busy. I definitely recommend making a reservation and sticking with it. I'll truly be looking forward to the next time I can enjoy omakase here on a Monday night ! read more

Been eyeing this place for a while and was so excited to finally try it! Came here on a Monday with a friend for dinner around 6:30pm and they sat us immediately. There is limited space as it is a small establishment and all seating is at the bar. The rest of the spots filled up almost immediately after we sat down. Our server was very attentive and offered some recommendations when we got decision paralysis. We started with a Miyasaka sake carafe to share, which was a lightly filtered sake. Our server let us pick out our sake cups which was so cute! We were thinking about getting a cocktail too since they all looked so unique, but they are $20 each so we decided to split more food items instead. My friend and I ordered the Halibut carpaccio and salmon burrata to share. I got the set menu 3 special handroll with toro caviar, salmon truffle, and scallop uni, as well as an add on of the black cod avocado. The halibut carpaccio was paired with Asian pear, yuzu, truffle oil, and black sea salt. The yuzu really brightened the whole dish without overpowering the flavor. It was a nice medley of sweet and salty and freshness from the cherry tomato's, radish slices, and microgreens that also came with the dish. 8/10. The salmon burrata was recommended by our server. I love trying new flavors so this was right up my alley. I mean, I love salmon and I love burrata so it's hard to go wrong, but it's not a common pairing. The dish was topped with yuzu, olive oil, honey truffle, and black sea salt. The burrata added a lovely mild, creamy flavor/texture without being overpowering when mixed with the salmon which was fatty but fresh. The citrus from the yuzu and savory sweetness from the honey truffle worked really well to add depth to the overall flavor profile. I would definitely recommend this dish. 8.5/10. The Black Cod Avocado handroll came in soy paper (I think?) and was warm and delicious. The texture was flakey and buttery, especially with the avocado. Soy sauce was unnecessary since the cod was seasoned so well. 9/10. I was very excited for the toro caviar handroll since I love both! It was a very straightforward flavor - fattiness from the toro and saltiness from the caviar. It honestly lacked depth for me, but was still tasty regardless. 8/10. The salmon truffle handroll was amazing. The salmon was seared which made it melt in your mouth. Paired with the truffle added an umami flavor that just hit the right spot. 9/10. The scallop uni handroll was nice, but the use of yuzu in it really overpowered everything else. I usually love the texture of scallop, and the sweet, creamy, and briny flavor of uni, but the citrus was the majority of what I could taste. 7.5/10. After dinner, our server also brought us a cute dessert, which was a fermented ice cream with house made biscuits (I think?). The ice cream was really good - just sweet enough and tasted like brown sugar with a more tangy flavor. 8.5/10. Overall, I like that there are specialty handroll options, on top of the classic ones. I'll always compare handroll places to Kazunori, as that is the gold standard. And I think Iki Nori is pretty high up there. It's hard to beat Kazunori at the regular handrolls with the warm rice and the quality fish, but the flavors on the special handrolls at Iki Nori were absolutely delicious. I also appreciate variety, and like that there are rotating specials and a la carte items. I very much enjoyed my meal and will be back for more! read more

Oh my god! Iki Nori! Tonight made an exhausted attempt at a self care night during hell week at work into an unforgettable moment of exceptional service and quality. I ordered an omakase set on Uber Eats for pickup with no expectation to be wowed. Instead, I was met with what I think is the best takeout omakase available in this city of sushi. The host threw in the mushroom dashi broth and peach soda on the house-- a gesture that might have been small for him, but filled both my soul and belly in a way I will rave about for weeks to come. Unprecedented care for patrons like this is hard to come by these days, and it makes an impact on us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Oh yeah, THE NIGIRI. Truest of Sophie's choices I've had make in a while: which to save for last, the scallop, the seared toro? The uni. You know how good the set has to be for the toro maki to be the lowlight??? Iki Nori has been all over my FYP, and people are saying it's better than Kazunori. I'd say, if you're looking for a less traditional, more unique experience, then yes, give it a try. But overall, the service didn't quite compare to Kazunori. During dinner, they forgot our rolls twice, and we had to ask multiple times. The server apologized and brought them out quickly afterward. He did comp us free dessert, which was nice. The server was friendly but forgetful. Parking-wise, there's street parking available and a paid lot nearby. Seating is VERY limited, so either go early or be prepared to wait. Seaweed cucumber salad: A unique twist on a typical salad--very lemony. I'd give it a 5/10. Spicy tuna tacos: fish was so fresh and spice was perfect but the avocado was hard and not mushy / ripe Spicy tuna and salmon hand rolls: Solid. The same as Kazunori. Salmon truffle hand roll: SO good, easily a 10/10. Black cod avocado hand roll: The absolute best thing we had. 11/10 Spicy toro special hand roll**: Not worth it; stick to a plain hand roll instead. Hand rolls here are incredible. The flavor, the texture, everything is amazing. I hate to say it, but don't come hungry or else you'll easily spend over $200 on a dinner for 2. Must try the salmon burrata if you love salmon!! They incorporate honey truffle and yuzu. It's amazing, it's fresh, it's creamy... It's a small portion, but still easily shareable. We also tried the scallop uni sashimi- another great appetizer. Uni was fresh & sweet. It features white truffle oil, yuzu, and sea salt. Delicious combination of flavors in my mouth. I believed the hype and booked a reservation. But it was gross. The wagu nigiri was hard to chew and cold on the bottom. The seared salmon and truffle was not good. The truffle was shaved and tasted like nothing. No truffle flavor at all. The toro with wasabi and caviar was sort of okay but still a bit gross. It was like a weird influencer sushi bar where the food probably photographed amazing but the flavor was not there. I do not recommend. read more

I wanted to try Iki Nori after seeing it crowned #1 in L.A. hand roll bars by The Infatuation, above both KazuNori and the amazing Uoichiba. I took my mom last Tuesday, and we had a lovely, easy half-hour lunch. We were looking for something tasty and convenient, and this place really fit the bill. I wasn't sure how busy it would get, so I joined the line on Yelp on our drive over, figuring it wouldn't hurt. Parking was a cinch, right in the building, though we did have to leave our key with the attendant. We got an hour free with validation and were in no danger of going over (it would've been $5 for a second hour). The place was about 2/3 full when we arrived at 12:15, shortly after it opened at noon. Iki Nori is small--about a dozen seats around a sushi counter--but it doesn't seem hard to walk in, at least on a random weekday. We learned upon arrival that Iki Nori is in the same family as Iki Ramen--the resemblance was obvious as soon as we went inside. I've been a fan of Iki Ramen since it opened pre-pandemic, enjoying both the affordable ramen and the fancy omakase. Iki Nori makes perfect sense as a sister restaurant: an affordable, creative sushi bar with great fish and a casually upscale atmosphere. We were seated right away and service was fast and friendly. We ordered hot genmaicha with our lunch, but I'd visit the extensive booze list at dinner. It includes sake and Japanese whiskey, as well as beer, wine, and cocktails. The food was delicious. The menu was built around hand rolls, though there were also various appetizers as well as sashimi, nigiri sushi, and monaka ice cream sandwiches for dessert (I've had these at Iki Ramen and they are fantastic). I got the 3-hand roll set plus two of the special hand rolls, and they all hit the spot, with crisp nori, good sushi rice, and quality fish. The set came with spicy tuna, salmon, and crab, and if I have one small complaint, it's that they all had a similar texture, minced fine and soft. By contrast, I loved the scallop yuzu kosho, the first of my special rolls. This came with a whole slab of sweet, silky scallop dressed with zesty yuzu kosho, one of favorite condiments. I also enjoyed the decadent toro caviar hand roll. We got a nice bonus at the end of our meal, two pieces of seared shima aji nigiri dressed with black garlic sauce. Iki Ramen has been part of my rotation for years, and I hope to get plenty of use out of Iki Nori. I'd like to try the rest of the menu, including the mouthwatering A5 wagyu hand roll, which I saw prepared for another party. I'll keep this place in mind whenever I want some quick, satisfying sushi in the area. read more
