    Ceviche Mixto

Our culture is filled with countless examples of pick-and-chose, this or that competitions: dog versus cat people, chocolate versus vanilla, Coke versus Pepsi, Apple IPhone versus Samsung Galaxy, DC versus Marvel and the list goes on and on and ON. Another famous battle is that of Peruvian food in Hollywood... Mario's versus Inti versus Natalie. Most Angelinos have their strong opinions on which is better (although there is room for everyone!); and I am half way through my own conclusion having tried Mario's and now having finally tried Natalie. Natalie's is a Peruvian staple in Hollywood holding real estate in a small strip plaza on Hollywood Blvd near the Bronson intersection. Careful, and don't blink or you will miss this establishment. Am I exaggerating? No. Natalie Peruvian is small... like mini pony small. So small that you better hope there is an empty table or you are out of luck and will have to wait to dine. However, don't let this deter you or you will lose the opportunity to enjoy some tasty Peruvian cuisine. The menu at Natalie includes traditional Peruvian comfort food with a focus on seafood ingredients featuring ceviches, soups, carne and chicken dishes, fried rice and of course fish galore. Plus, dessert for your sweet tooth like flan, Peruvian ice cream and cookies. My boyfriend and I arrived to a full restaurant on a Sunday (although that isn't difficult due to the small square footage); but were able to snag the last available table. There is something very home-y and welcoming at Natalie which extends to the staff whom are kind, friendly and make you feel like family. Natalie offers tableside bread and whipped butter plus the special spicy green sauce while browsing the menu to wet your appetite. To kick off our dinner, my boyfriend and I started with the Ceviche Mixto (fish, shrimp, octopus, squid in lemon juice and spices - $19.99) to share. I have been craving Lomo Saltado for MONTHS so I already knew it would be my choice (beef strips sautéed with onions, tomatoes and French fries served with rice - $19.99) while my boyfriend chose the Arroz Chaufa de Mariscos (seafood fried rice w/scrambled eggs and green onions - $20.99) for our entrees. Natalie doesn't skimp on portions nor forgets to highlight plate presentation as the plate are large and filled with bright colors and fresh ingredients. The Ceviche Mixto came complete with yucca, Peruvian corn, and large shrimps & seafood that is bright and refreshing; and although I would have liked slightly more acidity - this is some great ceviche! My Lomo Saltado was DIVINE! The beef was tender and perfectly seasoned but not overpowering the sauce, fries or veggies. This dish is a heavenly orchestra! My boyfriend has never tried Lomo Saltado (what?!?!?!) - and he was in love. My boyfriend's Arroz Chaufa de Mariscos was some damn good seafood fried rice! Light and plump rice with perfectly cooked seafood; this dish is a warming blanket of food. I would have preferred more seasoning but I am a lover of heavy seasoning and spice. Basically, Natalie Peruvian serves excellent food at a bang for for your buck. Natalie may be at competition with Mario's and Initi (try them all for yourself to decide); but they are certainly a brilliant choice for affordable and delicious Peruvian fare in a family atmosphere. Even if you have to wait for a table - Natalie worth it!

The food is really good. Hot and fresh. The green sauce is okay. I'm not a fan. The bread is soft and fresh tasting! Definitely come here for fresh rice. Service was good and Ambiance is dark and relaxing.

Haven't been here in years. Used to live within walking distance, and was a favorite. Just had lomo saltado and plantains. BOMB Tried a jugo called Chicha Morado. AMAZING. Definitely would recommend!

    Loma Saltado

A Peruvian gem tucked away in a strip mall absolutely delivers. Perfectly seasoned lomo saltado with tender beef, fries soaking up that savory sauce, and fluffy rice on the side. Bright, fresh ají verde that actually has depth, not just heat and would be good on just about anything. Finished it off with plantains and a creamy Peruvian dessert that hit exactly right. Delicious food. Bold flavors. Attentive and friendly staff. This is the kind of place you remember and come back to.

The Lomo Saltado was full of flavor and served in a generous portion. The staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations. We also tried the costillas de puerco as an appetizer. Their green salsa was to die for, I wish I could've purchased a bottle! If you're in the area, be sure to stop by and enjoy a taste of Peruvian culture.

First time here and very impressed by the service and quality of the food! Jesus is so friendly and attentive, and not a long wait for the food. The ceviche is so refreshing and flavorful. The Lomo Saltado is perfectly cooked, very tender. The appetizers are also very flavorful. Everything is perfect! Will return.

We come from San Jose, and we were in the mood of some fresh fried fish; and we made the right choice. "Mojarra-Whole Fried Fish" was amazing, we also tried 7 marea soup - seafood , and a delicious ceviche. The service was so good, nice environment and music. I recommend it. Thank you.

Tried #s 55 and 75 for the first time today, absolutely loved it and the service was amazing as always

I've been coming to Natalie's for about 7 years and it never disappoints. Went adventurous and tried something new today and absolutely loved it and the service is amazing as always

Food was authentic and homey, full of flavor, fresh and tasty. Service was helpful and friendly. Ambiance was clean and homey. Menu has more items which I would come back to try more items on their menu.

It's my second time here and I constantly think about this ceviche mixto instead of getting my usual lomo saltado I decided to try the mojarra frito! And wow such a delicate flavor, it's a whole fried fish! This restaurant literally tastes like home made food with lotsa love. The service is 10/10 , and I would highly recommend. Yum

It is the perfect place to bring out-of-town guests who want a taste of authentic old Hollywood. Come for a martini lunch, but be warned: one martini is really closer to two, since it arrives with the ice cold glass (with just a rinse of vermouth of course) plus your own chilled mini-shaker that is also full. The ancient wait staff take their work seriously - they've seen it all and have served EVERYone, so the service has that classic, professional polish you rarely find anymore. You may well spot a celebrity, especially at lunch or dinner at their favorite booth or table If you do not have a reservation, try the grill counter or the grill side that is less formal. The steaks are excellent, as are any of the grilled meats really, lobster mac and cheese, and chicken pot pie are hearty and comforting when you need to carb-load and wallow when you didn't get the part. Try not to fill up on the baguette and signature salted butter, and absolutely save room for dessert. You are in the heart of the Hollywood Walk of fame surrounded by landmarks Movie Palaces and theatres.

Finally got around to eating here, and overall I really liked it…read more The creamed spinach was perfect. I also had the asparagus, which was a little underseasoned, but cooked perfectly, and the hollandaise was excellent. The chicken parmesan tasted great, but it had zero crispiness, which was disappointing. I ordered the 12 oz. filet. It seemed like a no brainer over the 8 oz. since the smaller one was $60 and the 12 oz. was only $68. Pricing wise, I can't imagine ordering the smaller one. I ordered it medium, even though I usually prefer medium rare, because I was sharing it. It came out rare, so I had to send it back. The waiter explained that the larger filets are so thick that it's difficult to raise the temperature in the center without overcooking the outside. As someone who cooks steaks, I understand what he meant, but it's also a steakhouse that's been around for 107 years. I'd think they'd have figured that out by now. A reverse sear would solve that, but clearly that's not how they prepare them. I am not going to give them notes (outside of this anonymous review), they are doing great. The steak still tasted good. It was tender, as you'd expect from a filet, but it was a little underseasoned, and the crust was really only on the top. For a steakhouse, it was definitely the biggest disappointment of the meal. The cheesecake was perfection. Perhaps the best I ever had. Service was outstanding. I also loved the dining room. It has such a unique atmosphere, and you can really feel the history. It took me decades of living in LA to finally make it here, and I'm really glad I did. I don't think it'll become a regular spot for me, but if someone wanted to go, I'd happily come back. Seems like a great spot to take someone visiting LA for their first time, especially if you've been on Hollywood blvd that day. Some of the food was genuinely outstanding. I just expected more from the steak at a legendary steakhouse.

Especially if you want great gumbo and cornbread. Things to know: First off, the food is delicious. Second off, this place has an A rating for food inspection. The place is a registered business (or else you couldn't list yourself on Google Maps) Besides... you live in LA and have survived danger dogs. That A rating should help you feel relieved, either way. If not, the smile you receive as you get the food hopefully will. You have to go up a few stairs on the left to get to the spot. Don't worry, there's signs that'll tell you where it is. Parking situation is a rough during rush hour but you should be able to squeeze in the street. You get some beads with your food, which is cute. Sounds like a fun thing to get if you ordered delivery while you're drinking at home (or work) with friends. So yeah, the food is great. It's super well made. The quality is what I was hoping for from a place that specialized in gumbo. Much like how I would expect the ramen to be good when they serve nothing but ramen. 100% recommend getting the cornbread with the gumbo, btw. I totally ate most of it while I was driving home so I'd say I recommend getting extra. (they're conveniently bite sized. I couldn't help. Lol)

First and foremost, a huge shoutout to our server, Seth, and the entire team. The service was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. Waters were never empty, drinks arrived promptly, and every dish was perfectly timed and coursed throughout the evening. The level of attention to detail elevated an already incredible meal into a truly memorable experience. As for the food, I genuinely don't know where to begin. This might be one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles -- and honestly, it has a strong case for being the best. Every single dish that came out was executed beautifully. We started with the caviar service, which was an easy win from the start. The chips were impossibly light, airy, and perfectly salted, while the onion crème fraîche added an incredible richness that tied everything together beautifully. Next came the milk buns, which were soft, fluffy, and completely addictive. The whipped butter served alongside them was silky, rich, and absolutely perfect. The tiger prawn tostada completely surprised me in the best possible way. It delivered layers of flavor with subtle heat that never overpowered the dish. The prawns were cooked flawlessly, and every bite felt balanced and intentional. Then came the croquettes, which may have officially ruined all other croquettes for me. They were perfectly crisp on the outside while the interior simply melted in your mouth. The accompanying sauce was beautifully balanced and made an already fantastic dish even better. For mains, we ordered the Dungeness crab pasta, which was light, fresh, and elegant. It wasn't trying to be overly complicated, and that was exactly what made it so good. It was a reminder that simplicity, when executed well, can be extraordinary. The pork belly risotto was another standout. The risotto itself was cooked perfectly, and the pork belly somehow managed to be both crispy and melt-in-your-mouth tender at the same time. Every component on the plate worked together flawlessly. We also ordered the corn and roasted potatoes as sides, and somehow even those managed to steal the spotlight. The corn was an absolute flavor bomb, and the roasted potatoes were equally unforgettable. And then came the star of the evening: the tomahawk. Without question, it was the best tomahawk steak I've ever had. The accompanying chili sauce wasn't aggressively spicy like a traditional salsa might be; instead, it was incredibly balanced and complemented the richness of the steak perfectly. Every bite was absolute perfection. By the end of the meal, we were completely stuffed, but after a dinner this good there was no chance we were skipping dessert. We ordered the French toast dessert, which was delicious with its tangy strawberry syrup and beautifully executed flavors. My only critique would be that I wish it had been served warmer and in a slightly larger portion, because I truly think that would have taken it to an entirely different level. Overall, I left absolutely blown away. The chef, the kitchen team, and the front-of-house staff delivered one of the best dining experiences I've had in a very long time. The burger: delicious juiciness stacked with melted cheese, mayo, and aromas: it comes with a salad or fries, the fries in my honest opinion are comparable to in n out fries but a fatter version. There is street parking (depending on the day of the week you come). They have a beautiful movie projector there's a pool table. They have gorgeous seating. If you love beautiful dinning, this is your spot for it. Even if you're in the mood for a drink, it's definitely a great place to stop by!! They have beautiful art of the wall, pretty drinks and music playing. The staff genuinely makes this place even better!!! Restrooms are always clean. Valet is not free. Security at the front. If you're looking to meet with friends, family or business meetings, this is a very effective place to experience wonderful hospitality. Keep up the incredible work please. I love coming here. It's my new to go to place! Overlooking the capital records sign, it's so beautiful with the high ceilings!!! Thank you Dani and Corey for making this place what it is!! I love doing business here. With Lauren and Malerie at the bar, they make sure your drinks are delicious!!!
