My wife loves to get a coffee and relax here. Good spot to get some work done or have a quick meeting.

Today was the grand opening of this coffee shop / bakery. There are several coffee selections including espresso, my favorite. There are hot and cold coffee selections, the hot coffee is served hot, but not scalding. The coffee was excellent. There were several bakery selections to choose from including, amazing cupcakes, creme brule, fresh fruit tarts, cake pops, brownies, lemon squares, cheesecake, bread puddings, huge danish, muffins, and croissants. The cheesecake was to die for! I also tasted the delicious lemon squares and fresh fruit tarts, they were equally delicious. Something you have to taste to believe! The shop itself is very nice, some comfy couches, and tables and chairs. There is a bookshelf with books and magazines on a variety of subjects, coloring books and chalk and blackboards for the children. The outdoor patio looks great, but I didn't try it today. I discovered Cake Shop Café early last week and decided I had to give it a try. Any close, possible alternative to Dunkin Donuts is deserving of a chance. The intention of my first visit was only to buy a coffee but the baked were so enticing that I decided to buy some for my Team back at the office. We were all blown away. The ridiculously good coffee was the perfect temp for drinking immediately upon pouring and the fudge brownies were sugary art. My Wife, Baby Girl and I stopped by yesterday for breakfast. We each had a egg, cheese & bacon sandwich on a homemade pretzel bun. If it is possible to elevate an egg sandwich, Cake found a way. The sandwich was absolutely perfect. No, I do not feel that an exaggeration. You may feel the sandwich pricey at a most $7 but only until you taste it. I would pay much more to have that sandwich again. *PLEASE NOTE: The pretzel bun sandwich was listed as a special. For all I know, it's already gone.* We have a special event coming up and so we were in need of a special Cake to celebrate the event. We decided to ask Cake about the cake. The owner, Michelle, and one of her bakers sat down to talk with us. They were both genuinely interested in creating a cake that would be ours, that would be special. The owner, Michelle, could not have been nicer. She should be proud of what she has built. She has given Millbury a world class coffee and bake shop. Overstatement? Hold your judgment until you make the trip for yourself. I have a feeling you'll agree. By the way, my Wife had a sweet, iced Matcha. It was flipping' awesome! read more

The food here (mostly baked goods but with a few sandwiches etc) is superb! The atmosphere is wonderful as well. They held on to the character of the old mill that this building once was but made it bright and comfy and even inviting for kids... with a bookshelf of books and puzzles and a wall of framed chalkboards to draw on. The outdoor seating is lovely too, on a patio overlooking a pleasant little stream. The only drawback is that the menu is a little pricey for a cafe... but you get what you pay for. read more

This place is absolutely fantastic! As a grad student I need a place with delicious coffee and a good study spot. This place has all that and more. Food is super tasty and the coffee is phenomenal (as a grad student I drink A LOT of coffee). Not only that the staff is friendly and fantabulous. They are always smiling when I come in and helpful when I need a recommendation. If you haven't stopped in yet, you need to fix that ASAP!!! Did I mention I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE?! read more

This place is great! Big tables for studying, great wifi and a lovely outdoor patio. The drinks are delicious and their sandwiches are so fresh and tasty. I have no complaints about this place, truly a great coffee shop! read more

Super cute cafe! Has a homey vibe and the cashier was super nice and inviting. My friend and I came by here after yelping for a cafe and we both order a sandwich and a latte for roughly $20 which isn't great nor bad. We order some food for home, the hamburger pizza bread thing and an almond cupcake and boy it was delicious! The hamburger pizza bread thing was specular and a heaping portion for its price! Definitely recommend to others to try out the cute shop! read more

This is my new favorite place to get work done. Great wifi and a friendly staff. The food and drinks are great, and there is always plenty of seating. I haven't sat outside yet, but they do have an outdoor seating area as well. I haven't tried any of their desserts yet (they look delicious), but I'm slightly addicted to their granola and usually buy a new bag every time I'm there. read more

I was visiting my folks up in Mass and got together with a friend in Grafton. She recommended we go there for a bite and a cup of coffee. Let me say I'm upset she did....because I'm now suffering from withdrawals. The pastries were fresh and scrumptious the coffee was among the best I had. I highly recommend this place. It's warm and inviting the owners and staff are extremely friendly you could easily spend an afternoon here. I should know because I did. Can't wait to head north so I can go back. read more

Had a chia latte and bacon quiche sandwich on a biscuit and it was the best thing ever. Atmosphere is wonderful relaxing! Found my new spot!

What a little gem in the heart of Millbury. We enjoyed a squash and apple soup and a very good chicken salad sandwich on a grilled cranberry walnut bread. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for a three year old which looked delicious and eaten well. It is kid friendly and they have books and puzzles near the back of the cafe for little friends. The baked goods looked yummy and the chocolate croissant is scrumptious. Laptops were seen being used. Worth the visit. read more

The cake shop cafe is an extreme disappointment every time I go in. The espresso drinks are pretty good, but the sandwiches are overpriced for the quality (and quantity) of what you get, and the chocolate baked bars are practically inedible. I came in on Sunday 8/7, and the young gentleman (the only person who seemed to be working out front) who helped me was trying his best to accommodate the line of people to the door. This cafe is CLEARLY understaffed, and with the obvious lack of management here I'm surprised the place is still open. read more

Our whole family loves the cake shop. Finally a great local coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. The pastries are delicious and beautifully crafted. Our kids love to watch them bake through the window. The atmosphere is great for kids and very inviting for anyone.There are puzzles, coloring books, story books and more to keep them occupied. They also have events for children and families now and then. The large deck outside is great during the summer and fall. The coffee is good, more flavors would be better. Also, the iced lattes only come in one smaller size. An option for larger iced lattes would be great. They have also recently added a larger lunch menu including hot sandwiches. So far we've tried the turkey sandwich and the roast beef. They are phenomenal. The prices here are a little higher than others shops especially on some lunch items but between the atmosphere, friendly service and the quality of the food/drink, it's certainly not a factor in our decision to head out to the cake shop. read more

It's too bad this place isn't what it used to be, it seems since the new ownership took over that it's mostly gone downhill. The staff more or less just treats the business like it's routine, long gone are the Open Mic nights they once had with live Musicians, and some of the pastries and additional items which used to be made on-site like their Banana Bread are no longer available. Many of their danishes and common pastries are also smaller and overbaked usually, just isn't as great as it used to be. Bathrooms are never clean, and this wasn't an issue before. The place has a lot of potential and I hope they might change and kind of give it some life and an identity, because it sorely lacks in that department. It's a beautiful location. If they focused it to be more true to the identity of a European Bakery / Pastry Shop / Cafe and made it to be much more European and Traditional rather than American, it might work out a lot better, along with the quality standard to reflect that. read more

I'm torn on how to review this place. Food is great, i lot of different pastries, cakes and sandwiches. not your regular fare but a little different, in a good way. The staff is friendly and attentive. The look inside is a done over brick industrial building, very interesting and inviting. Unfortunately the overwhelming issue here is the speed of service. My latest visit was on a Saturday morning. One of your two big breakfast business days and they had only two people working, (this is not a one time thing, it seems to be the norm) one on the counter, taking orders, getting the pastries, and making the coffees and one in the back doing the cooked food. They have a wonderful selection of coffees lattes and coffee drinks but these can sometime take a long time to make and they have only one person making them. We saw two people leave after waiting much too long in line, and I've seen this before. Anybody I've talked to says the same thing, food is great, just hate waiting for it. read more
