Delicious 25th Anniversary cake for Florida Boxer Rescue!

Delicious cake, quick turnaround and easy to work with. Trifecta! Thank you Chef Mario. Also, buy a rum cake when you're there - you will not be sorry.

Chef Mario does it again! Another year another Pusheen themed part! On google reviews you can find Halloween 2024, and here is Holiday's 2025, attentive to helping his customers in the order of arrival at Cakes Plus, Chef Mario finished making the gentleman he was with his coffee in the barista area of the shop and checked him out before bringing my beautiful artistic custom creation from the back. A holiday Pusheen Christmas tree ornament modeled Cake, a 3D fondant shelled marble cake with mint filling that was unbelievably perfect in every way, its sixlet beaded ornaments the perfect touch. Almost impossible to eat due to its sheer cuteness and design aesthetic! We found a way, we started in the back. Thanks for your attention to detail Cakes Plus and Chef Mario! You have my business and recommendations for life.

I could not have been more pleased with my 20s themed cake . I attached a pic I found online , picked the flavors and hoped for the best . Cakes Plus really impressed me . The cake was gorgeous (unfortunately , I didn't think to take a pic of my cake until it was too late lol) the Mocha and strawberry tasted fabulous ! I'll be making Cakes Plus my GoTo for custom cakes The staff was great too Thanks

This place was a 10/10. I ordered a custom cale for my birthday and it was by far the LEAST expensive I could find and they made my cake PERFECTLY!! On top of it they were super nice and friendly inside. They had a really nice conversation with me and my brother which made us feel really comfortable. We both wanted coffee and they gave it to us on the house since it was my birthday. I'm very picky with my coffee because im Caribbean and like it strong and it was probably the best coffee i've bought! I wish I had a better picture of the cake‍. It tasted amazing! i will definitely come back !

What an amazing spot!!! I needed a custom cake for a 50 year retirement party. I found a picture on Google of what I wanted and just had a slight modification for it. I sent it over to them, and the cake came out better than I could have imagined. Everyone loved it and it tasted amazing. I was so nervous ordering from a new spot where I had never had anything done before, and was so happy that they made my vision come to life.

My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday with a cake and told me it would be Nanalan themed, specially Mona, but told me nothing else. All I can say is, when I saw the cake I was absolutely speechless! Design wise - was so much better than either of us could've expected. They literally created the whole cake to look like her! I've included a reference photo along with the final product for comparison. Additionally, everyone agreed the cake was delicious. We went with a vanilla cake with a raspberry filling. The cake had a great flavor and consistency, but I must also add the fondant used was actually delicious. Everyone who ate it agreed they usually hate fondant and yet loved the fondant used on this cake. It was definitely a huge highlight of my birthday and we will definitely be ordering from here again in the future!

I just want to say THANK YOU for making our gender reveal even more memorable!! We had a last minute order because our other baker was out sick and THANKFULLY CakesPlus was able to fit us into their schedule! We put in the order on Wednesday and the chef was able to bake a beautiful 4 tier cake for the coming Saturday , we weren't too picky on design, we didn't know the flavor either but it turned out to be wedding almond cake flavor, my absolute favorite and the icing was beautiful! It was a great surprise to cut into it and see we were having a boy! It was a last minute order but everything went smoothly and they were quick to respond to my emails and calls! It tasted amazing, on time, friendly & I will absolutely be ordering all of our special event cakes here from now on! We absolutely loved our gender reveal cake thank you again!

Was looking for a kid's birthday party cake but something over the top! I called cakes plus, they are amazing they said email us a picture and we can make anything... The only problem is we didn't realize once we went to pick it up it was so big it didn't fit in our car... Try to ask dimensions in advance. Not only did Elmo look fabulous, he tasted fabulous!!!

    First birthday superbowl theme

This was our first time ordering from cake plus and they did an awesome job. Our baby's first birthday cake turned out amazing! We had a football theme birthday party and everyone loved the cake! Not only did it look nice it also tasted great. Our little guy loved his personal smash cake :) When we first walked in we kind of had a vision of how we wanted the cake but not in detail. The owner sat down with us and made sure every detail was perfect. He made great suggestions as far as design and it turned out amazing! We will definitely be back.

If you're in Tampa/St. Pete and need a cake done, this is the place to go!! I found out about Cakes Plus after I saw Chef Mario on the food network during the Christmas cookie challenge. I knew I needed to get a cake made by him for my sister's bridal shower. Ordering process- I met with him one afternoon about 4 weeks before the event and within 20 minutes we had decided exactly what design to get (he has an album full of old cake designs) and he had even sketched out the idea of the cake I wanted. We set a date and time for pickup and everything worked out seamlessly! Tip- order several weeks ahead of time. They operate on a first come first serve basis and have to block off certain amounts of time per cake to do a good job. If you're not entirely certain which design you want right away but you know you want them to make your cake, you can put down a deposit so they can ensure blocking off time for you. The cake- Since it's a family run business they're versatile and not that limited on what they can do. They have several options and do not up charge for different cake flavors (we had chocolate&vanilla layers with strawberry filling in between). We had so many compliments on the flavor and look of the cake! Pricing- again keep in mind this is a family run operation and what you're getting is carefully handcrafted by Mario and nina. Different designs and the work put into making them (like sugar flowers or incorporating real ones, or ready made props) will change the price. Our cake was $299 for the amount of decor (we decided not to have the entire cake full of flowers which would have been possible but more like $350). Overall it was expensive but well worth it.

I had found the perfect cake on Pinterest! Planning my husbands Navy Retirement ceremony which was taking place on the Starship Majesty in Clearwater while living outside of DC had me extremely nervous finding the perfect place to bake the cake. I found Cakes Plus online and sent them a photo of the cake. They had excellent response time and great communication through the whole process. Ordering and payment was easy and convenient. Now on to the cake. We were absolutely blown away by the amazing job they did on this cake. The detail was spot on! We chose the award winning white pound cake and it did not disappoint. Everyone loved it and wanted to know where it was from. I look forward to placing my next cake design with them and I would highly recommend them for your next celebration. Thank you so much to everyone at Cakes Plus who helped bring this to life!

    Succulent themed Birthday Cake
    Hazel V.

It's a Puerto Rican family owned bakery & coffee shop. My daughter wanted a succulent themed Birthday Cake coz she loves her succulent plants and I know Publix won't be able to make this cake. I walked in to Tampa Plus and talked with the owner about the cake which is going to be in 3 days. He made it happen, the cake was delicious, moist, and the design was perfect! I can't thanked them enough for accommodating my rushed request. By the way, they coffee was delicious too, not your typical Starbucks but better and catered to your liking! They have the best cakes, flans, and all kinds of desserts, you won't be able to leave without buying desserts coz they all look so delicious and it really is!

    The cake.

Update: Ok, as promised, the cake tasted great! Good quality, fresh, and moist. I think the design issues arose from the chef not taking good notes when I ordered and waiting to the last minute to finish. _________________________________________________________ Old review: So, the staff is friendly and I'll update this when I taste the round birthday cake I ordered... If it's great, I'll say so. My initial impression of the cake was that it seemed rushed. Three problems: 1. I ordered a week ago and it was not ready when I arrived at the scheduled time to pick it up. Three staff members were all assholes and elbows running to the back to get it ready... That leads to the next point. 2. I asked for two numbers to be sinking into the cake with chocolate dripping down them. What I got, two hastily placed numbers stuck into the cake with chocolate smudged finger prints on them. Literally looked like a three year old was paying with them after eating chocolate ice cream. 3. The cake was supposed to have fresh raspberries. Instead, I got piped little blobs of red decorator icing instead. Not impressed for paying as much as I did.

You grab a tray and a pair of tongs and make your way through the bakery, with separate glass display cases for the sweet and savory pastries. You just pick whatever looks good -- which is dangerous because everything looks good! First of all, the prices are fantastic. Most of the buns are under $4. My absolute favorite was the ham and cheese bun. The bun is slightly sweet and the ham and cheese are savory, and the combination is SO good. The blueberry bun was another favorite -- it almost had a blueberry cheesecake flavor. We also tried the curry bun, which was delicious. We ordered several of the hot items too. The har gow (shrimp dumplings) were outstanding. They have a delicate steamed wrapper filled with plump, juicy shrimp, and these were honestly some of the best I've ever had. I've eaten in multiple restaurants in Chinatown in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, so that's saying a lot! The Shanghai dumplings, which are little soup dumplings filled with meat and broth, were also delicious. We also tried the steamed pork ribs. The flavor was very good, but steamed pork has a different appearance and there were some fatty pieces. I'm glad we tried them, but they're probably the one thing I wouldn't order again. Another huge plus was the pricing on the hot food -- every hot entrée we looked at was under $10. Between the two of us, we ordered seven different things, couldn't even finish everything, and our entire check was only $46. Great quality, great variety, and an incredible value. I will definitely be back. I was going to say I wish there were one closer to us...but maybe it's a good thing there isn't, because I would probably eat those ham and cheese buns every day! Five stars!

Extremely disappointing customer service, especially from the manager…read more I placed an order for two milk tea drinks at 1:24 PM. While waiting, I watched another customer receive her drinks even though I was already ahead of her by approximately four customers in line. At 1:32 PM, I approached the gentleman at the counter to ask about my order. He did not greet me or acknowledge me. He looked at my receipt, looked at his watch, and dismissively said, "It's not even 10 minutes." He then asked me, "What do you want to do?" When I asked what he meant, he told me I could either wait or get my money back. He checked in the back and came back telling me it would be another five minutes. I agreed to wait. Five minutes later, instead of simply addressing the delay or apologizing, he told me I could grab a bun while I waited. I explained that I already had a bun and that, considering the inconvenience and the way the situation was handled, I felt a discount would have been an appropriate gesture. Instead, he offered to refund my money and gave me another receipt without the drinks. The most disappointing part was Norman, the manager. At no point did he apologize, acknowledge the inconvenience, or make any genuine effort to resolve the situation professionally. As a manager, I expected him to step in, listen to the customer, and demonstrate some level of courtesy and accountability. Instead, his attitude left me with the very clear impression that he simply did not care whether he had my business or not. I completely understand that a bakery can get busy and that orders can sometimes take longer than expected. The issue wasn't simply the wait--it was the attitude and the complete lack of customer service. A simple apology and a professional response could have completely changed the experience. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed and unappreciated as a customer. Management should understand that customers remember how they are treated, especially when something goes wrong. I will not be returning, and I hope the owners take this feedback seriously and address how customers are being treated by management.

This is a true authentic French bakery, no doubt in my mind. The iced salted caramel latte is the best I have EVER had. I could taste every flavor and it blended with the coffee perfectly. The ham and cheese croissant was so flakey, the perfect ham ratio and just all around fantastic. The pastry I got had raspberry jam and white chocolate ganache (I don't remember the name of it) and it was seriously the best pastry I've ever had. Most pastries can be too sweet, but this was just right. The jam tasted fresh and homemade (probably is!) and the white chocolate ganache gave it just a touch of sweetness. It is a little pricey so be warned: $48 for two coffees and two pastries. Definitely worth a splurge!!

I ordered the Cuban sandwich $15, a small canoli $3, a small cupcake $3, pineapple muffin $3.95, tres leches $3.95, and a specialty cake big enough for 21 people $45. Bakery items were fairly priced, and were high quality. This bakery knows what they are doing when it comes to this part. Except the tres leche, they don't know what they're doing there.
