I have to say how impressed I am by this team. No one likes to have their car fixed, but it can be worse when you're dealing with unfriendly people. Not the case at this location. Everyone I worked with was awesome. Mark was wonderful with his frequent communication and updates. He was very accommodating and made the process super easy for me. Alma is so cheery and lovely to be around. There's another girl that works at the front desk that's also very cool - she had on a Disney face mask and loved my Disney shirt, so of course we bonded quickly. The waiting area was clean and they had complimentary water and popcorn. The front desk personnel were courteous and helpful when I spoke to them over the phone and when I came in for my appointment. Ted managed the work on my damaged rear bumper. He was good at explaining the process, went into detail about the estimate, etc. My issue is with the poor work and lack of quality control. The left section of the bumper was damaged and they fixed/painted it. However, instead of looking to see if the rest of the bumper needed to be buffed out or painted, they simply clear-coated the entire bumper....with existing scratches and all. I pointed it out to them and they admitted it was an oversight, should've scrutinized the bumper more and sprayed the whole bumper before clear-coating the whole thing. I was told the first delay was because my car was hard to work on. : ( The second delay was blamed on my insurance company. They're not open on weekends so because of that I have to pay for a rental car for 3 extra days. No apologies were offered. No willingness to come through on time shown. I'm a freak when it comes to my vehicles. I cary a $100 deductible so if I get a door ding there is not hesitation getting it fixed. The Oceanside Caliber is really great. I need my car done as fast as possible as I'm working as a Ride Share Driver while back in school. Matt the manger said he would have it in a day or two at the most, and he was a man of his word. LEFT A RAZOR BLADE ON MY CAR SEAT AS PAYBACK FOR MAKING THEM DO THEIR JOB!!!! Unfortunately, while stopped at a red light on September 22, 2017 I was rear-ended. Since my previous experiences with your Oceanside Auto Body Shop was positive, I once again opted to have my vehicle repaired by a shop that prides itself on being "The Industry Leader in Quality Collision Repair" and "Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life". I dropped my vehicle off on Monday, September 27, 2017 and was told by my initial estimator I should expect about 2 weeks for the repair to be completed. Joel called around noon on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 stating my car was ready for pick up. I went to Caliber later that day to pick up my car. While looking over the repair work, I noticed there was paint chipped on the lower middle trunk panel. I then noticed there was another paint chip on the left rear panel above the brake lights. Upon further inspection I noticed the truck was not properly fitted. There was a noticeable uneven fit on the right portion of the trunk lid. As Joel opened the trunk I noticed there were paint scuff marks on the inside left and right portion of the trunk seams. As I continued to inspect the trunk, I noticed the emergency trunk release was not installed properly (it was hidden, left dangling behind the inner trunk liner) and to add insult to injury there was paper wadding stuffed in the trunk liner. Due to the number of issues with my car, I declined to pick it up. Friday, October 27, 2017 by Steve Wolcott, the Oceanside Caliber Collision center manager. Steve stated my car was once again ready for pick up. Later that Friday, I went to pick up my car. I checked into the front desk and was assisted by an individual named Guy. Guy brought my car to the front entrance where he and I began to inspect the repair work. Immediately I noticed the paint chip on the left rear panel above the brake light was not fixed. The trunk was not aligned; still a very noticeable uneven fit. Guy opened the trunk. The scuff marks on the inner trunk seams were not addressed. The emergency trunk release latch was still hidden behind the trunk liner. And the paper wadding was still stuffed inside the trunk liner. Of the 6 items previously noted on October 17, 2017 the only one resolved, was the paint chip on the lower trunk panel . Once again, I declined to pick up my vehicle. I suggested Guy find Steve. Steve was shown all the issues. I left. Friday, November 3, 2017, 40 days after dropping my car off at Caliber Collision, I was notified by Steve that my car was once again ready for pick. Around 4:30 pm that Friday, I checked in at the front desk, was greeted by the receptionist and notified Steve will be right out. Steve brought my car up. Together we inspected the repair work. Tuesday, November 11, 2017 at approximately 6:45 am I begin to enter my car when I notice a small polished/shiny object in the seam of my driver set. As I took a closer look, I noticed the object was a straight edge razor blade. One doesn't have to let their imagination wander too far to question how this razor blade made its way into the seam of my leather seats. Clearly a reputable repair shop with their qualified, high-skilled, professional labor force would know that razor blades inside a vehicle are not wise. Nevertheless, if a razor blade was needed on the outside of a vehicle, a layman recognizes the potential damage a razor can cause inside the cabin of a vehicle, surely a professional knows that as well. A razor, regardless of circumstances, left unattended is most certainly not an intelligent decision. One could even interpret this as a sign of poor training, lack of quality control or a careless act. Taken a step further, one could even see this as a more calculated act; done intentionally to cause physical damage not only to the seats and/or clothing but with the intent to cause physical harm or injury. Hard to decide the intent. Certainly it was not a mistake. Clearly whichever thought process you favor, the result was/is that I literally could have been seriously injured by the simple act of sitting in my seat. That is unconscionable! It's frightening to think that my wife, a child or anyone getting into or out of my seat or simply sliding their hand in the crevice could have been injured. I'm at a loss for words by this deliberate and preventable act. Looking back It's my assumption the laborer was resentful for having to redo their job; not once, not twice, but three times. read more

From the first call they handled our accident with the most professional and upstanding kindness, they got us in right away and took less time than we were estimated. Guy called and updated me every step of the way, he even let me know of anything else that was wrong, and sent pictures as well to give me peace of mind. And when I called for a question or anything they were extremely helpful, no long holds, no chasing people down, no phone tag, just simple answers. Rude, Rude, Rude. Where is the customer service? Obviously they missed that seminar. I was given the wrong information about just go to the location to get estimate. I didn't know I needed an appointment. I would've waited, first come first serve, like the DMV. Front desk agent tried to help me for a few moments, telling me about the policy and then she was getting disoriented in our conversation. She disappears and then the next thing I know, the manager comes out. I told her what was told to me and every time I explained something, she cut me off. Even got the "hand" once. I was getting impatient and my attitude was changing and I gave it back. Her comment that really got me was, "They don't know my business and how it operates so I am telling you that you need an appointment". Parking was bad. So I asked, "Where am I suppose to park?" Then was getting too many details and I cut her off. Touche. Few more words and then she gave me the roll of the eyes and that did it. I get it. I was given the wrong information. Explain it to me once. Work with me and "Let's see what we can do. Maybe I can squeeze you in?" It went from later that same day, to next Monday and then Thursday, and last was Wednesday. My days of choice were like a game of pin ball and that was the last straw. Walked out. I worked retail and in the hospitality business and did everything for the customer or guest. Worst experience at this caliber collision... I have only taken my car to Caliber but no longer!!! They're obviously working hand-in-hand with insurance companies to not fully cover the care of your car. I was involved in a car accident where they tried to tell me that the damage was not caused by the accident and by me. Hmmm no! Leaving me with a bumper also not color matching my car. Also stole sunglasses in my trunk and manager Greg was very rude and unhelpful. I got into a car accident and the other person's insurance sent me here for the repairs. Originally, my car was turned in to Caliber in San Marcos, but their main guy was out on vacation so they sent my car as an offload to this location. Jeanette was in charge of my case and she was INCREDIBLE!!! The best example of great customer service. She called me every step of the way and sent texts to my phone to keep me up to date with the repairs. She explained everything they were doing and was just the sweetest! My car was done earlier than they had expected, and she had forgot that my car was an offload. I didn't mind driving at all to pick it up in Oceanside (I was running a little late and they said they would stay open until I got there), but she felt so bad about it that she paid for some extra services I was going to pay for out of my pocket. 2 stars for the super quick estimate, minus 3 for the cost and how the estimate was just handed to me without any explanation. Minor dent in my fender and some faint paint transfer from the other car involved. Sadly, It ended up being a ridiculous amount, for a little dent in my fender and to take off the paint marks. Labor was over a thousand dollars. And the actual cost of materials -one being replacing the fender - was a quarter of that. Im not sure if it was because I was a female, or because he heard me say my insurance company sent me. Well, I couldn't afford the one thousand dollar deductible at the time, so I called another local company that specializes in dent repairs.
