2 stars for the super quick estimate, minus 3 for the cost and how the estimate was just handed to me without any explanation. Minor dent in my fender and some faint paint transfer from the other car involved. Sadly, It ended up being a ridiculous amount, for a little dent in my fender and to take off the paint marks. Labor was over a thousand dollars. And the actual cost of materials -one being replacing the fender - was a quarter of that. Im not sure if it was because I was a female, or because he heard me say my insurance company sent me. Well, I couldn't afford the one thousand dollar deductible at the time, so I called another local company that specializes in dent repairs. This is the second time I've used Caliber Collision. The first time everything was taken care of by the insurance of the woman who rear-ended my car. Everything went very well and they exceeded my expectations in customer service and the repair work. Most recently, I had a paint scratch that I was responsible for and so was paying out of pocket. They gave me an estimate, stuck to it, and even had my car back in one day when they had said it would be three. I wasn't able to get over to their shop and pick it up so they offered to deliver it here. It worked out perfectly, and I now have my car back to drive to work tomorrow morning. I believe it was Sarah that was my service advisor. While it's not only refreshing to have a female in this position, it's great when they deliver superior service and workmanship. Brought car in for a door repair after accident. Battery and check engine lights were fine. The vehicle was repaired and returned to me with check engine light and battery light on. Made Jim aware of these issues and his response "well that has nothing to do with your door repair". He denied any responsibility for the problems and walked inside with the attitude of "good luck". When I went into Caliber Collision and spoke again with him. He just repeated with a blank look, "well it has nothing to do with your door". Had to take it to a mechanic shop to have the necessary repair work done. Needless to say, I will not be using Caliber Collision in the future. Nor will I recommend them to friends and family. "Guy" the service technician is so rude and disrespectful!! He has no customer service skills what's so ever. My trunk and bumper needed fixing after being rear ended which was also causing a light to stay on inside the car. Which then would essentially kill the battery. They ended up not being able to fix my car because they found something else wrong that they couldn't fix. I went to pick up my car today and later I opened my trunk and it was completely taken apart inside. When I brought my car to them to get fixed, my trunk was completely in tact. I called "Guy" to ask why my trunk was not put back together and he had nothing to say but "I don't know". Then I proceed to let him know that it should have been put back together and that this was unacceptable. He started talking over me and being extremely rude then he hung up in my face. Start doing your job better and have some more respect for people. Biggest a**hole ever! read more

A couple years back I helped my girlfriend out with her car problems. The Toyota dealership was giving her the runaround and wanted to charge her thousands for a new battery on her Prius. One easy call to Caliber Collision at another location, who didn't even do the repair, quickly met with the dealership and inspected the car. To make a long story short Caliber debunked the dealerships BS and she got a new battery put in her Prius and the dealership paid for it all. After that amazing experience with Caliber I insisted on using them for my car when I was involved in an accident. They were great about calling and getting me scheduled. I was pleasantly greeted by Brad A. who gave me a no rush explanation of what needed to be done. Excellent service beginning to end. Very professional and courteous. They fixed my car in less time then projected, arranged for my rental car to be picked up at their facility and returned to their facility when my car was ready. Repairs were done beautifully, the paint was perfect, no orange peel, the alignment of the door was perfect. I wish I could give this place 5 stars but they really messed up my car! I took it in there because I had a small incident in my passenger back door after approx a week they called to say it's all done I went to pick it up...i looked over my car and it looked worse than before! The door didn't line up with the jam and was wavy also when they washed the car they either washed it with dirty rags or dried it with dirty rags or both! My entire vehicle had scratches everywhere, all around the whole car! I was speechless! I informed them when I dropped it off not to use a brushes on it if they washed it, I've never used brushes on my SUV, apparently nobody bothered to listen to that. When the Mgr called to say it was just about done my husband asked if they got all the scratches out and corrected the original incident, the Mgr said our car had scratches, dings, dents and a broken tail light!! WHAT??? he tried to say that's how it was when we brought it in, apparently he didn't get with the original guy that was on handeling our case, he went on vacaction, so the mgr knew nothing about the new scratches! Needless to say they had to order a new tail light because someone at thier shop broke ours and tried to say we did it! we walked around my entire car before they even touched it and I am 100% certain all the scratches and broken tail light were not there before I took it to them! After 3 long weeks I went to get my car. I now have my car back and everytime I look at it i get nauseated, the front headlamp is all scratched up and the front seam under the headlight looks like they hit something and tried to put bondo on it to cover it up! since i chose not to use my insurance on an $800 expense i paid them in cash out of pocket. Bottom line..i honestly don't know who you can trust anymore! I'm sickened by this because Ive always taken the utmost care of my car because it's a $52,000 vehicle and now I have to be reminded everyday what they did to it!Trying to decide if I should hire someone to fix this mess or sell it. I've been here twice - once with my mom's car for a broken driver's side mirror that someone hit and more recently with my car, which was rear ended. I spoke with Paul and he helped me very efficiently and quickly. He explained everything to me, I read all the paperwork that I had to sign, and made sure everything was out of my car before giving it up for repairs. I received two calls for updates on my car, which I really appreciated so I knew how long the repairs took and when to expect to have my car back. When I received my car back, the paint matched perfectly and the bumper looked amazing! I was shocked to find that my car was completely clean. I had left it dirty on the outside and messy on the inside on the floor with dirt. I had no idea they would clean it, but it was VERY pleasant surprise. Even the inside was really nice. This was our second time bringing my car in for a minor repair after an accident. It was frustrating how long the entire process took....about 2 weeks to wait just to get in for my first appointment for the estimate only, and then about 2-3 weeks to get my car in because you can't just drop your car off after hours (and their hours are basically during my work hours which was annoying). When I finally got my car back, it was dead. Completely dead when they pulled it up for me. They just laughed it off like it was no big deal and said I should be ok if I just drive it around the block a few times before turning it off. I was so annoyed because there was also NO gas in it. I had a quarter tank when I brought it in. They tried to say that they must have left the lights on while working on it, but my lights shut off automatically when the car is turned off....and then they tried saying because it's a newer car, I should read the manual and see why the "empty" signal is flashing at me. Ahhhh!! I thankfully made it to the gas station right down the street and thankfully my car didn't die when I had to start it up again. But now I just got an oil change and the mechanic said my battery is still very low!! So annoying because now I will probably have to get a new battery because of them. I'm only giving 2 stars because the staff was friendly and I know they have a lot on their plates. The manager also did well handling a very rude customer in the waiting area, and he seems like a nice guy. But, I don't think we will be going back. read more

These guys are not just crooks. They do horrible work. I took my brand new car there for a repair that should have taken 3 days. They had my car for almost 2 months. During this time they would call me every 2 days saying the car was done. When I get there the job is terrible. The paint job looked as if I did it myself. I've never painted a car. The fit of the bumper horrible. I did this back and forth for the entire 7 weeks. Every time it would be the same issues. It was as if they didn't even look at it before they called me. Sometimes it seemed as if they didn't do anything to it. Like they hoped I would'nt see that they did nothing. My insurance company sent out an adjuster 3 times and every time they were told that the work was substandard. At one point Dave the manger said they could not handle the job and would pay for me to take it anywhere I wanted. When I did this Dave proceeded to tell the new body shop that I was unreasonable and could not be made happy. This in turn made the other shop uneasy about taking the job. Then Dave the district manager(same name different guy) calls me and basically threatens me that no body will in San Diego would take the job once they find out that Caliber had it. I took that as the same thing that happened at the shop I chose would happen everywhere I went once they spoke to Caliber(Dave and Dave). Then Dave the GM offers to pay me $500 to get my car fixed somewhere else. I went and got estimates to correct there work and the cheapest was $1026. So $500 would not cut it. Not to mention I went to another Caliber and they even said the work was trash and gave me a bid to fix it. They didn't know that it was done by another Caliber. After contacting Dave the GM and asking for what it would take to fix it. He basically told me to jump off a cliff. So I filed a lawsuit for the amount to fix my car at the Vista small claims court. We went to court on 4/19/16 and I won easily. I even got a rental car paid for while the work is done as well. I guess they thought I would accept trash work. These guys are crooks. Don't take your car there. Even while I was running back and forth with my car there were other people there with similar complaints. read more

Getting your car fixed is usually very stressful and messy. And I have a different thing to say about this place and the people that work here. I got into a huge accident and I got quotes from 5 different places in the region. I found that Caliber Collision Oceanside was the most reasonable and reliable place to get my car fixed. Visiting automotive businesses can be very daunting because I know nothing about cars and what's gonna be done on my car while I leave it up to the hands of the mechanics. Usually, the people who explain to you what's wrong with your car and what's going to be done to it throw at you bunch of terms you don't understand and are often annoyed at any questions. Travis was the one who handled my case and he explained every little detail of the work and was welcoming of any follow up services. Travis let me know by action that once you do your business here, they will take care you indefinitely even after the car is completely fixed. Travis and his manager Steve even reimbursed me for my Uber ride to the place to pick up the car. Very nice people. Look for Travis if you want a proper service on your vehicle read more
