They told me it will take a week to repair, which extended to 2 week for no apparent reason. Came here through Geico for a door repair, thought things would go smoothly and easily because it's though the Insurance. I know, big mistake. The work took over 10 days, which is a very long time for repairing a door. Of course, the rental service they work with didn't mind. I was told I can just return my rental car to them when I picked up my car and they will return it for me to the rental service. They returned it a day later so I paid an extra day, which again, I imagine the rental service they work with didn't mind. And the cherry on top, because they returned the car a day later, and it was parked on the street where they told me to, I got a surprise parking ticket a few weeks later in the mail. Let me just say that, I needed a service, they were contracted with my insurance, and they got the job done--but not without some major hiccups. I think that the management and employees mean well and want to do a good job, but the execution and overall experience was below average. I needed my front bumper repaired and had pretty easily gotten an appointment for a visual evaluation, which went pretty smoothly. I decided to wait until my next 2 week vacation to bring my car for repair in because I read other reviews stating that the repairs ended up taking longer than expected, which made me hesitant to do it while I was still working. April, with confidence, told me the repairs would likely take 5 business days, which worked well for me timing wise. I didn't hear from them at all for 1.5 weeks. I decided to call and was told my car would be ready this Thursday, Friday at the latest. Since they're not open on weekends, I made sure to book a flight back into LA on Friday to pick up my car before heading back to work the next week, which cut my vacation short but was fine as long as I could get this taken care of. I called them Friday morning to confirm and was told my car wouldn't be ready for another 5 days, due to them waiting for a part to be delivered from the dealership. Hell no. It's already been 2 weeks and double the time I was originally told, and now I have to wait 5 more days?! I had modified my travel plans, and I needed to go back to work next week. That was not okay. Anyway, I called my insurance and complained, and all of a sudden, the car was ready by the end of the day Friday. ‍ I think communication could be better. They need to make it a habit to call customers and provide updates. Being without a car in LA is extremely inconvenient and thus these repairs need to be done in a timely manner or at least the ETAs need to be communicated better. I ended up being the one calling and asking for updates, and they just kept pushing back the date each time! So, when you ask for an estimated repair time, expect to double or triple it! read more

I got sideswiped in West Hollywood and car was in bad shape. Thank goodness I have USAA and had the claim in motion via the app before even leaving the scene of the accident They assigned me to this body shop which is so convenient to my house. I pull up and the receptionist is less than helpful and tells me I have to schedule an appointment soonest being two days from now. Meanwhile there is a slew of employees at desks doing in not sure what. I go to another body shop down the street, M's on Lincoln and they are fast and kind and super responsive on how I can get my vehicle in for repair. The unfortunate thing is I have to take it back to Caliber for an initial inspection. So here I sit for a full 20 minutes. Same bunch of employees chatting away, not being helped and getting super frustrated. I would avoid this place read more

They parked our car around the corner from their shop for three days and earned us $200 in parking tickets. Do NOT take your car here. Our insurance unfortunately uses these people, and more than once we've had them tell us our car is ready (waste our f*#ing time returning our rental, and paying money for me to uber to work all the way from santa monica to glendale and back) only to find that nothing we pointed out to them the last time was touched at all. even after having the manager promise to call us himself next time it was ready, he (surprise) did not, and then they still did a terrible job. And the worst part is...they parked our car on the street around the corner from their shop for three days and we just got notices in the mail for $200 in parking tickets our car got during this time because of this. how dare you!!!!!!!!!!! Ivan was assigned to my case and did an excellent job in communicating professionally and diligently. Provided daily updates on the status of my vehicle via e-mail. I cannot recommend this location enough. Sammy was my point of contact. My bumper was dented after someone in a U-Haul truck backed into my car while it was parked. Going through insurance was an absolute nightmare but Sammy was so patient and proactive. After repairs, my car looks great and they even had it washed. This was my second repair conducted at caliber Collision in the Lincoln ace facility in Santa Monica. The first was satisfactory but the last one was not. The repair work was good but communications were not so good. On Wednesday they told me the car would be ready Friday at 1pm. I asked them if my wife can pick it up about 8am. They told me they would check with the manager and will let me know at noon Thursday, They never called! I called them at 3 pm ; they said the car would not be ready on Friday morning. Since my wife was at work some 35 miles away they offered to deliver the car home at 3:30 pm Friday. I asked that they call at least 10 minutes before coming so I can open the garage door for parking entry. They didn't call in advance nor did they call my landline number as I'd previously requested! Very poor communications I'd say! That's it for me. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

Recently, and unfortunately, my car was sideswiped while parked. I came back to find the entire right side of the car pretty banged up. Caliber, as always did a great job. Even right now while I'm dealing with a situation with Hertz rent a car they're going out of their way to make sure I feel taken care of and important. This place is a one-of-a-kind business. Even though there are many locations. It feels like a mom and pop shop. Navigating the difficult situation with some confusing elements can be very frustrating but the shop on Lincoln boulevard and the one in Echo Park have both been very helpful. Walter Chacon, the general manager over at their Lincoln location went way beyond the call of duty. He reached out to Hertz rent a car to find out what the erroneous charges were about. He got back to me with an answer I wasn't happy with, regardless, he did his best to make sure his side of the street was clean. As always, upper management and even the janitors (I'm kidding I never met a janitor there) when out of their way to make sure I felt taken care of. Hopefully I will never have to use caliber again but if I do find myself in a situation where my car needs repair, it's the only shop in town in my mind. I'll just choose a different rental car service. Don't waste your time with shady spots with no reputation and no customer service. Insurance scams are everywhere. Don't get caught up. I came here after my insurance company made an appointment for me to get my car repaired. It was on short notice as I had to leave town for work, so maybe that's a reason for the lack of service I ultimately received. However, when I showed up on time for my 1:30 appointment, after the receptionist told me that there was an appointment for me, a man named Alex told me "even if we took your car, it wouldn't be touched for a week or so" and "there's no room for your car", citing a variety of reasons such as a large backlog, a lack of appointment, and then the appointment being for an inspection rather than a repair. I hope Alex knows that when you tend to give multiple excuses for not doing something, each of them looks pretty flimsy and people can generally tell you are lying. He then lazily took pictures and said "I'll call you when we have room for your car." It's been 8 days, I returned from my work trip and radio silence the whole time. It seems from other reviews that this place not keeping their word on an appointment is pretty standard. Sorry if I sound a bit like a Karen but this was honestly the worst experience I've ever had at a repair spot, and I hope maybe you have better luck if you decide to go here. read more

I had my car worked on here a while ago and while I can say that they did a good job with the repairs, the customer service here is not the greatest. The center manager named Luis is so rude and a complete airhead. It's obvious he doesn't care about the customers, when I was in the lobby I overheard him say "that's not my problem" over the phone...INFRONT of people. He could at least take calls like that to the back. I also saw him eating, outside on the lot where they do repairs while talking to a customer. I priced out our job - one Santa Monica shop quoted us more than 30% above Caliber Collision, another quoted us the same price as Caliber but said they wouldn't get to it for a few weeks. I cant say enough good things about Caliber. My family has always gone there to get their car repair needs, and I know why! I took in my car and dealt with so many friendly faces and positive attitudes, in a pandemic, mind you!!!! They were very assertive of safety standards which put me at ease when i pulled up and saw everyone still doing the social distancing and mask wearing and what not. You get a sense that they love what they do. Very structured, organized, communication always happening. This is the A team here in Santa Monica. I got my car in and out same day. That blew my mind!!!!!!!! Everything that was wrong with my car is now right. I feel like a million bucks with my car looking like new again after months of body damage.
