We often leave reviews when things don't go as planned, but it's just as important to acknowledge when someone goes above and beyond--and that's exactly what Rus (Timerwhanov), my service manager, did. I came in thinking my car needed a simple service that could be wrapped up the same day. Turns out, the car required additional work--and I was flying out the very next day for a weeklong international trip. Rus stepped in, explained everything clearly, helped me prioritize what needed immediate attention, and arranged a courtesy vehicle so I wouldn't be without transportation. While I was out of the country, Rus kept me updated with prompt and thorough follow-ups. The service was completed perfectly on time, and everything was handled so smoothly that I truly felt cared for and supported every step of the way. The cherry on top? The team also arranged an Uber for me and my dog, Zen, so I could make a vet appointment nearby the day I picked up my car. Bonus points for being incredibly dog-friendly--Zen loved being there and got plenty of cuddles and attention from the staff! The service I received at Jaguar Land Rover Santa Monica was so catastrophic, so careless, and so…read moredishonest that I genuinely wish zero stars were an option. I brought my 2010 Jaguar XK convertible in December for a simple battery replacement after it died while parked in my garage. I paid roughly $700 for a dealership battery. Weeks later, I discovered my convertible top would no longer operate because a critical retracting component in the trunk had been broken. When I reported this, my service manager flatly denied responsibility and claimed the car "must have come in that way." It absolutely did not, and would like to point out that the part that was damaged must be removed in order for a new battery to be installed, and for no other reason. I had never had the battery replaced before and up until this time, had always been able to operate my convertible without any problem. In February, the brand-new battery they installed died again. I had the car towed back, only to be told they had installed "a bad battery off the shelf." During that same visit, I was suddenly told my key fob -- which had always worked perfectly -- was "bad" and needed to be reset using my spare key. They sent a messenger to take my functioning key fob. When they returned my vehicle, they sent both keys back but one key had tape on it with the word "Bad" written on it. I took this to mean that they didn't fix my key fob and didn't need my other key fob to "fix" the "bad" key fob, despite telling me that. Then came the upsell. I was advised to authorize expensive cooling system work because I was preparing the car for sale and was told it would only be sellable "if the buyer doesn't open the engine." Wanting to sell responsibly, I approved the repairs and paid another $2,980. The day I picked up the vehicle, I got inside and discovered something shocking: THE ENGINE START BUTTON HAD BEEN COMPLETELY DESTROYED. The button on the center console was gone -- punched through as if someone had forced their finger or a tool into it. This the very first thing you touch the moment you get into the car. There is no conceivable way I would have brought the vehicle in like that without saying something, especially since the dealership knew I was preparing it for sale. When I confronted my service advisor, Jeffrey Manuel, he claimed this was "how I brought it in." That is false. He then suggested the tow truck driver might have done it -- except the tow driver never entered my car. I was the only person inside it before it was towed. The dealership later produced "time-stamped" photos that supposedly showed the damage on arrival, but the timestamp was at least an hour AFTER the car had been dropped off by the towing service. So to summarize my experience: * I paid dealership prices for a battery that failed within weeks * My convertible top mechanism was damaged while in their care * My key fob suddenly became "bad" after they handled it * I was pressured into nearly $3,000 in additional repairs, which, by their own admission, did not fix their diagnosis of my car overheating. * My car was returned to me MORE DAMAGED than when I brought it in * Responsibility was denied at every step * Explanations changed depending on what was most convenient I trusted this dealership with a well-maintained luxury vehicle and got it back in worse condition, along with shifting stories and zero accountability. If you value your vehicle, your time, or your sanity, take your Jaguar or Land Rover anywhere else. And if you do decide to take it there TAKE VIDEOS OF EVERY SINGLE PART ON YOUR VEHICLE THAT IS NOT DAMAGED, so that, in case they damage it, you'll have proof! Because, when they damage it, they just take a video or photo of the damage and then ask you if you have any video of your undamaged vehicle, despite the fact that there was no mention of it being damaged before!

Jeff & team were understanding of my concerns and were able to accurately diagnose the issues (not transmission related). They ended up replacing the auxiliary battery, resealing some valve covers, installing all new spark plugs and installing a new alarm system for a bit over $2,000 and had my car for 15-16 days. They were communicative (regular phone calls to update me) and transparent throughout the whole process on diagnostics, pricing and what work was required vs just recommended which was a huge relief as a woman and first-time foreign car owner. I will be bringing my car back for all future maintenance needs! Edit: One thing to note, their lot is super tight and a bit hectic to get in and out of so keep that in mind for planning your visits if you can!

My own Lexus, which I have owned for less than a month, stalled completely while I was driving with my daughter. The service department acknowledged the stall and stated they could not determine the cause. After this incident, I was instructed to return the rental and told another vehicle would be provided. I drove an hour and a half to the dealership based on that information. When I arrived, I was told no loaner would be provided and that I needed to find my own way home by calling an Uber or renting a car at my own expense while Lexus investigated. I was also told I could drive my vehicle home despite the recent stall that put my daughter and me at risk. During the incident, I suffered whiplash when the car lost power and I had to jerk the wheel to avoid a more serious outcome. No other vehicles were involved. This was a complete stall. The lack of concern for customer safety, poor communication, and refusal to provide appropriate support after a serious vehicle malfunction was unacceptable. This experience has caused significant stress and disruption and has permanently changed my confidence in this dealership.
